  • I took out the Allen and Heath CQ-18T to mix two different bands in one night. I was blown away by how fast the auto gain, quick channels, and anti feedback got my show up and running. I did everything in quick channels because I wanted to experience what the mixer could do from a novice approach. It sounded amazing!

    Appreciate you posting this. While I'm a mobile DJ and don't often have the need for most of the advanced aspects of mixing here, the seartch for a Touchmix 8 alternative that has iPad control and still on board controls has been a challenge until this came out. Appreciate you as a user already posting this!

    U can tell with your mix you have a great ear with this u tube video. Glad u posted this. I’ve used the Qu series & had nothing but great sound, they’re dependable, the effects are quite good & it’s easy to get a great mix even in challenging environments..
    Thanks for the real deal.

    If the phone recording sounds this good- with clear vocals and dynamics- I imagine art sounds even better in person! (I'm sure you've also got great ears to help that along!) I've been watching videos about the CQ-18, and now I'm sold! Thanks for the video!

    I just picked up a new CQ-18T and taking my first leap into digital mixing. My question is our drummer is using a Roland electronic kit, is there a Library setting for electronic drums that only has Left and Right Master outs?

      No but that's just on the processing screen. You can always switch over to the FADER screen and then you get faders that are as tall as the iPad.

    Does this console has a dynamic eq like the sq has an add on?
    also can you send channel to a bus pre eq or just after eq?

    • @jaylonshane9673
      @jaylonshane9673  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No dynamic eq. I believe you can only send post eq (except for the multi track recording). SQ is a higher series than CQ. This is really an entry point into digital after. Think of this more like a digital Zed mixer with some amazing features.

      Appreciate this video! Will this be a great choice for a 4 piece rock band that also plays with backing tracks and in ear system? If we had this unit side stage, would we still need a stage box or splitter for FOH? Appreciate the help!

      It has 4 FX engines. Just like a pro mixer you have a send and return for the effects. So you can send any and all channels to any of the 4 FX engines and then adjust how much of that effect you hear with the return.

    Hello Awesome video man.
    I am in need of a new Mixer ASAP. I play in a 3 piece band (2 Acoustic guitars, Bass and 2 mics) occasionally drums. I’m interested in both Allen&Heath QU16 and the CQ18T. What do you recommend me investing in, in 2024!?
    Does the CQ18T individually mute channels or is there a mute all button? Thank you for your time!

    • @jaylonshane9673
      @jaylonshane9673  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      So these are both great units with different use cases. To start, if you need the option for a digital remote stage box then CQ is out. CQ is a 96kHz console and QU is a 48kHz console. While they are both great sounding products the CQ sounds better. If you are a musician in a small band and you are doing sound yourself from the stage then I would go with the CQ. Right now you have to mute channels individually but mute groups is on the requested list of feature upgrades so I wouldn't be surprised if we see that soon in a free software update.

    Curious about the anti-feedback feature - just a marketing thing, or something really helpful? I'd use it with either a Bose L1 Pro 16 or Yamaha DRZ-D 12". I normally run a Yamaha TF1, and thinking about a Yamaha DM3-D (for the Dante networking), but the automated features on the CQ-18T seem interesting. Good video!
