  • On this episode of Tech Tuesday Jake Burkey is showing you how to install our Weld On Super 60 High Steer Arms as well as make use of our ball joint eliminators. The Super Duty Dana 60 ball joints axle is quickly becoming the go to axle for off road builds. We like to use their knuckles on our budgets steering 14 bolt builds. The reason for this is you can run big bell RCVs and big rockwell size shafts and joints and all you need is our super duty dana 60 ball joint eliminator kit. Well then you need some way to run high steer to keep you steering up out of the rocks when rock crawling. That is where our DIY weld on dana 60 high steer kit comes into play. The kit comes with all the plates and spacers you need to get it done. Some grinding to get that perfect fit, someway to preheat your knuckles and a welder is all you need to get it done. If that is out of your skill set you can always either send in your knuckles to have us weld the high steer kit on using our jig or you can order a set of Dana 60 Super Duty knuckles from us with the high steer kit already welded on. All of these options are available at Busted Knuckle Off Road right here in Cullman, AL and we ship Worldwide.

Fantastic instructional. Note to home fabricators, might wanna take out that lower ball joint if you're putting that much heat into the knuckle. Or not, i'm not the boss of you.

Our new setup with keyed arms is a way better setup that these weld on ones.

I remember back in the heydey of internet forums when it was perfectly acceptable to weld steel plating to knuckles for increase in strength, but woe be to someone to even bring up the idea of welding a high steer arm to a knuckle.

We no longer do this, we machine the knuckles and key them for our billet high steer arms

Yup, just installed the ball joint eliminators, don’t forget to grind the top of the bushings down until you get about 25lbs of pressure to turn the knuckle free play.
