this should be phrased that black americans created their own culture that is so powerful that it influences the world and even those who attempts to oppress them... Black Americans are the global culture from science to art to entertainment to sports to fashion ... there is literally no electricity without black americans

Black American's certainly have added value to the world in music, dance and some sports like basketball and American football. But when it comes to commerce and industry and building infrastructure, that is the domain of the white man.

@@the_wb This is true, but it didn't take Europeans long to surpass Africans when it came in to ingenuity. If you look at major societal shifts over the centuries such as the Scientific Revolution in the 16th century, the Enlightenment in the 17th century and the Industrial Revolution in the 18th century, these all came out of Europe. If you then compare what was happening in Africa at the same time, it's not even a contest. This isn't racist, this is factual.

Slaves did not eat soul food. Slaves barely ate meat. I'm from the South, had a great-grandmother who was born in 1899 and died in 2000 at 101. She didn't eat fried chicken. This is absurd. You need not have a phd in black studies or be a black person over the age of 50 to know that the slave diet did not consist of mac and cheese.

There were slaves making mac n cheese for the master but overall they were eating collard greens maybe, grits maybe a small slab of pork and some were allowed to have their own chickens so they may have eaten eggs.

So were gonna act like we haven't *BEEN* in Britain? *Ignatius Sancho, Mary Prince, Olaudah Equiano, Mary Seacole, Dido Belle?* Black British (African's) have been in Britain since the 18th century in the 1700's during the Georgian era and slave trade period.
Both America and Britain had slaves the only difference is all American slaves were farmers in the South of America and worked in America. Britain's slaves didn't work as farmers as the British climate wouldn't allow crops to grow as much in the farms so Britain's slaves worked for your working class to upper class Brit's as *Housekeepers, Maids, Chefs cleaners etc* . A lot of slaves in Africa were taken to Britain to serve British people in their houses in the 18th century but still faced extreme racism, discrimination and abuse both physical and verbal which is why many Black Brits can relate to the Black Americans.
Britain 100% had slaves but most of their slaves were all abroad in their colonies working due to the better climate for crops whilst being monitored and controlled by the British. It pisses me off when people say that our history starts at windrush like WHAT? Have people forgotten about the Maroon's? British Carribean history goes further than just Windrush and with us Africans well we've *BEEN* here.

@@godrules3596 They were indenture servants, who became Black Freemen, which is worst. Acts 6 Meaning they enslaved and stole lands just like the Europeans did. Please look up Anthony Johnson, who was the originator of chattel slavery in the 13 colonies and came from Angola. This record is still in the Northampton Country records since March 8, 1654. I don't solely blame whites for slavery but rather Black Africans for teaching whites slavery, in which Africans still do till this day.

They helped Britain at a time (1960's) when they were in need of workers to help fill post-war labour shortages and rebuild the economy. These jobs included bus drivers, nurses, cleaners and post office workers. However, continental African's were technically in Britain long before Jamaicans were. Many were brought there as indentured servants during the time of the transatlantic slave trade. In 1789 the black population of Britain was estimate to be around 40,000.

African kings were taken to England and also the Caribbean because they resisted colonisation. Many of Nigerian leaders in the 1920s or before then were sent to England for some sort of training. You can google or best youtube him an old prime minister from Nigeria called tafewa balewa. Even in the late 1800, you can learn about Herbert Macauley.
