You are a phenomenal teacher. I watch these videos with my 6-year old who is starting his first race series ever this coming October. I’ve been riding for 28 years and I’m amazed by the amount of information I learn from your videos.
Bless you AJ. Pollen count is a gear high sounds like!! And great job with the little guys. I like working with the kids. Seeing them get it. Is awesome. Luke 9:62
Really good again, these sort of videos that concentrate on a small number of aspects of riding (gear selection timing and which gear in this case) are just so helpful. I never ride in gears as tall as you instruct. I gotta get into that habit!
AJ Really appreciate being able to learn from your teachings. Been riding over 25years and I race 250 A/B. There is so much to gain from your lessons. Thank you 🙏
A good "rule of thumb" is you want enough speed coming into the corner that if u did not touch the throttle you could make it all the way around the corner
At the end, coming out of that corner shouldnt he have been in the powerband before the jump? Either partial or full throttle? Getting into the powerband right in the jump face could go badly, which he almost did after following ajs advice. He always preeches a gear higher to settle the bike, thats great for 4 strokes but seems like it could create an unpredictable situation on a 2 stroke, to be in a taller gear and out of the powerband hed have to be carrying enough momentum to coast the jump. Love to see aj tackle some more 2 stroke based supermini specific classes, so when this happens he can explain it.
Great video!!! Aj, you must work on the audio mixing/leveling, it's all over the place hahaha....one moment you volume up all the way and then you need to take it down all the way :) The sound quality is great though!
I get confused on how to edit when I record with multiple Rode Wireless Go mics. I had myself and Addison mic’d up, so the reason Thor’s bike sounds so quiet is because it was pulling from my mic 😅. Was the audio at least coming out of both sides this time? Last video I edited it was only playing back in left headphone
@@AjCatanzaro LOL. Yes from both sides. The issue is not only the source mic itself but even the into/outro music are not level with the entire footage's audio level. You need to make sure that the level (db) are the same for the entire timeline. I'll PM you....
Smash a bunch of soda cans, spread them around the corners and straights, then run them over all day! If you can consistently run over the cans, you're hitting your marks!
I'm new to motocross having trouble on jumps...do I want to stay in my attack position thru the jump face? I think I'm to far forward and landing front tire first.big time.thanks peace!!!!
Make sure you aren't letting off the gas. If you feel too far forward, try a little less forward. I ain't no racer but hit jumps and climb some gnarly hills... I always stay in attack position when standing, just gotta move forward and back with the bike. On long hill climbs Im forward to the point it feels like I'm standing on a rocket getting launched up the hill. Gotta stay on top of the power so you riding it, not behind it holding onto the handlebars getting pulled.
ask the fastest guy to watch ya :) same speed up the jump as on flat area before the jump. don't roll off throttle till in the air. front low ass back and gas it. gas makes rear end come down. think of this as a teeder tooder footpegs as pivet point. its were you put weight and how much gas. start at a comfy speed work on fast speed later :)
It depends on how much throttle you're going off the face with and the profile of the takeoff. With most jumps if you're just coasting it or hitting it with little throttle you can be in a more neutral-rearward position, if you're going off it wide open you need to be way over the front end. On jumps with a bucky lip you want to be a little more rearward, on more gradual takeoffs you can be over the front end more. You can be in the attack position while leaning back off the bike, just bend your knees and get your ass closer to the seat.

Not first. 2 others got that. Appreciate all time and effort AJ it has made me a better rider
All the private lessons need to be in the moto academy. I always go back to them for reference.
I have never owned or had the change to ride a bike. but I still click on these videos because they just show you how much work goes into this sport
Yes that's awesome..we need more training vids..thanks👍😁
Love the instruction vids AJ! Seeing the way your students improve is amazing! Thanks 👍

Great job Thor and Addison!! I have the same nervous feeling trying to jump doubles coming out of a corner.
