    Thanks for including the 'old information' section. If it's possible for future videos, putting a date/year on the clips can help put them in context as I didn't realize so many of them were as you say 'five years old or even older' already. It's unfortunate that we're in the 12th year of development (plus allegedly 2 years of pre-production according to Chris) and we still don't have answers about how fundamental gameplay systems are supposed to work. Datarunning as it connects to exploration is PARTICULARLY important as it decides how the whole economy is supposed to work, and we still only have vague old references to go on.

      Good input! I should've done that and definitely will for future deep dives.
      I believe before the gameplay loops we needed the "fundamental" game to be ready, which took just extremely long.
      But as I see it they're still on it and working to improve, as long as that is the case I'm positive for star citizens future

    I hope they give them combat roles such as hacking another ship's IFF system, attempting to trick adversaries into attacking their allies. Hacking could be used in combat as a force multiplier to create chaos and confusion on the battlefield. One compelling implementation of hacking in video games is presented in Pulsar Lost Colony wherein players defeat viruses through a "math" minigame. Looking forward to seeing how they develop this feature!!

    I've had a lot of discussions about what I would love Hacking to be and im glad to see that they did put thought into it the same way I was thinking off it (I wasnt aware of the old footage so thanks for bringing it up!) so its really reassuring that its not gonna be a simple "*button click* "im in" but a genuine hacking/counterhacking approach that draws from the CONCEPT of IRL. Great video mate :) +rep for the swiss accent :P

    Love an SC video that isn't way too long. Short and informative.

    the cartepillar is to be a modular ship?

    • @Luix_OS
      @Luix_OS  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Yes, the 4 compartments (or modules) are planned to be exchangeable. Even though it was never really specified what modules exactly.
      You can find more about this on the caterpillar concept sale page! :)

      In 2017 I believe they showed a video of the modules in development. At the time it included the cargo modules (I guess these come by default?), extra crew modules, a medical module, and also showed or discussed a 'meeting room' module. Seven years later and their status on modularity in general is 'almost started'.

      Was .
      Was supposed to be, at this point its doubtfull it ever will be.
      Its from a time before they changed just about everything and its layout no longer works .
      Expect a mkII variant to replace it.

      Yes, it was it's main selling point when first marketed back in 2012.

      @@Nemoticon I'll probably go dig through the old videos of SC and make a video about modularity :)

    They will for sure deliver new and better ships once the hacking mechanic is online.
    I'll just wait and buy a couple of upgrades both for the msr and herald.
    I hope they make hacking really hard and actually skillful to play , like , high risk high reward (like irl duh).
    Imagine hiding on an cluster of asteroids scanning and retrieving sensitive info from enemy orgs and operations. That shit would be dope.

      Yes! That's the gameplay I'm waiting for.
      But as we recently heard, ever thing is subject to change.
      I'm hopeful but I try not to get too excited for something non existend, yet

    Good video. I can imagine the data running, EW and hacking gameplay becoming either really trivial and unimpactful or super overpowered and annoying to combat. But if they get the balance right, it could be one of the funnest gameplay loops ever
    Also: what’s the music in the intro?

    • @Luix_OS
      @Luix_OS  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks! Exactly, I hope we soon get some more information about it
      It's a really old song from a north korean movie called:
      A broad bellflower (1987) - Song about wannabe tractor driver
