    Thanks for another great video.
I was just thinking...300+hp cars with drum brakes and 14x6 bias ply tires...it's amazing anyone survived the 60's.

How can anyone hate this car? When you go back to 1966 and think what was coming out of the showrooms back then I Was to young to remember but I would of considered this over the mustang and the Camaro that's for sure.

Definitely take a 66 Hemi Charger over ANY Mustang or Camaro from ANY era, even a BOSS 429 Mustang or ZL1 COPO Camaro. I'm a Ford guy but when it comes to muscle cars, Mopar is King!!!

Love it! My Dad drove a 66' Hemi Charger when I was a young lad. My heart skips a beat whenever I see a 66-67 Charger.

The 'disappearing' headlights really make the look of this car along with the great tail light panel. And having a hemi never hurts either.

I know the 1st Gen Charger was a polarizing vehicle, but how could you be a male with a pulse and not absolutely LOVE a first year Street Hemi Charger? Gosh, Mopar was KING back then! Best channel on TH-cam. Period.

This is arguably the year/car that really started 'it' all for Dodge! By the time 1970 rolled in, is it any wonder that everyone was gunning for Dodge/Chrysler and the hemi line-up, especially the 426 up to the 440/six?
Dodge has reinvented itself several times over through the years and always come out on top of the quest for raw power!

I had 3 Dodge Chargers growing up in the 1970's. A red with red interior 1966 Dodge Charger with a 383 factory a/c and even an 8 track player and two 1968 Dodge Chargers, one with a 383 and one with a 440 Hemi with a Hurst 4 speed pistol grip shifter. Only if I still owned those cars today.

Im into mustangs, but a friend of mine was into Chryslers, I sat in one of his 66 chargers and remember that it was the longest center console I had ever seen. Pretty cool.

Timeless styling, beautiful interior, and monster motor: almost heaven from Dodge.........Only thing lacking in most of the American cars (compacts to full size) of this era was good handling, standard disc brakes and radial tires. But for "stylin" down the interstate or "cruzin" in town this Charger is the cats pajamas. IMHO the cleanest automotive styling was from 1962 to 1966. Ford, GM, Chrysler (starting in 1963), even AMC and the Studebaker GT Hawk and Avanti, all had great exterior and interior designs in those years. Thanks for the video.

A neighbor had one with 383 and the 4 speed manual. It was fast and loud!! Beautiful car!! It was gold with a black interior. The dash at night was awesome with the blue lighting that was so unique. Unfortunately he sold the car to get something more oriented for his family. The kid that bought it run the hell out of it and then wrecked and totaled it!😥

So many people hate that Dodge called their current 4 door sedan "Charger" because it's a 4 door and not a 2 door car like the original Charger. But do they even acknoledge how many style elements of the original Charger Dodge managed to include in the current model. That's what I love about the Charger and Challenger.

We used to race one with a 440 in it. The car had excellent weight transfer. It had enough weight to transfer, and that meant power to the ground.
Iron American Dream on TH-cam Share it. Take a ride across the promised land. Hey Chager!

  • @Requiredfields2

It looks like too much car for the wheels like it would sail down the road rather than drive and would handle like a yacht. However the 4 bucket seats and back seat console are sweet. Just a thing from a different age altogether.

I love this car. I wish I could own one. İt is very difficult to buy and run cars like this properly unless you live in usa . So, lucky American people , stop being ignorant and get a real car instead of a toyota or hyundai , what is wrong with you.

  • @CJDUBstang

Very interesting huge fastback. Always liked the look. So is it a 65 mustang knockoff or is it its own thing? Ford copied this quite obviously with the 68 Fairlane/Torino sportsroof. Not too sure what to think, but NASACAR DNA shows up in both Charger/Torino a lot so maybe this is what is happening. Keep the vids coming. And how about some more 68/69 Torinos/Cobras?
