@@paulhunter5422 I looked at that one some time ago Paul, but I found a good quality stereo version here on TH-cam th-cam.com/video/XqMXfFtuQ2o/w-d-xo.html
🎧👍👍 A crisp and clean Billy Fury, wonderful backing vocals in a perfect stereo mix...that used to be mono! Undeniable hit material and a process that I still call miraculous. Well done, Pat and thank you. I'm only sorry that you can't perform this magic on any decent track (you need a good backing track). For some reason, my parents had two 45s of Hal Willis singing, Poor Little Jimmy. As I grew up with the knowledge of this recording and the fact that he was from Noranda, Quebec, I have a strong attachment to it. I have a signed CD from Hal of his copy of the 45 that says, "To my friend, Bill ......". I have a certain thrill in sharing good music with people who may not have heard it. The flip side of Poor Little Jimmy is, That's The Way It Goes which was also an awesome song. Take care, Pat and I hope your love for music keeps you happy and smiling!
Hi Bill. I'll have a look at those tracks when I get time. I bought a new, higher spec PC last week, with a 32 inch 4K monitor. It's taking me a lot longer than I expected to transfer everything from my old Windows 10 PC. This is my first time using Windows 11, and as we say in England 'It's doing my head in' !
Thanks Greg. I think this was an American song originally. I've found versions by the Lettermen, Jay & the Americans and Lenny Welch. But I think this is the best version !
This suited Billy's style perfectly .. even more than for the US original ( ? Lenny Welch ). Beautifully represented here. Thank you for all of these little treasures. ;o)
First recorded by American singer April Young in April 1965, and also later that year by Jay & the Americans (their single ‘Sunday’ has always been a favourite of mine). The Billy Fury recording is the best known and for my money should have gone to No. 2 in the U.K. charts (the number 1 slot always eluded him for some unknown reason). The intro is lovely and you know the song is going to be superb, and ofcourse it is. Big build up ballad which Decca favoured for his singles which probably distracted him from his song writing abilities (his Sound of Fury brilliant album has 10 self penned songs). Wonderful record in enhanced stereo mix. Great listen Pat. Like the Lettermen next, then Jay and the Americans, then Lenny Welch. April Young a bit too trebly for me. Billy wins with his classic sound.
I AM BACK RADIO WOLLATON 😂😂😂...NOW YOU ARE DOING BILLY FURY TRACKS TOO ! Another surprise, Admiral!!! Two questions: when is the next Stones track, and are you ever going to do more Beatles tracks (“Can’t Buy Me Love”, “Hard Day’s Night” and “Help” are suggestions)? Keep on flying, Admiral!!!
Hi Captain. I've done all the Beatles songs that I think could be improved. I'm waiting for TH-cam to unblock all the tracks that aren't on the Red & Blue albums, then I'll resume the Beatles remixes. And I don't want to turn into a single artist channel, so there will be a gap between each Stones upload.
This song is new to me (just like Billy Fury, who was probably not known to many people in Germany at the time). But all 13 songs that you remixed from him sound fantastic, Pat. My daughter drew my attention to 'Wondrous Place', is that also on your list?
Danke...sooo ein wunderbarer Song..
Geht sofort in's Herz..Es ist mein Wunschtraum..😊
Angenehmen Tag...🫂
