one of the worst version of any song I have heard. More like a parody.

The mono drums kick azz

Hmmm, I'm not sure about this one. The vocals are super clear, but they are cymbal crashes missing and a bit of sitar near the beginning.

Excellent vocals but I miss the stereo drums from the Giles remix

This is very interesting since the original was a "dirty" mix on purpose, with the rhythm track recorded on a cassette!. Now the lead and back vocals are finally cleaned up.

Although I Like the remix, the mono still beats it in part because the organ (harmonium?) heard here and there is more prominent

This is glorious. Until now, it had been one of my least favorites due to its shrill sound. Now it has vinyl's "warmth" without the pops

I remember watching this as an 11 year old, performed live on TOTP and was gobsmacked by the slick drummer. One of the first singles I bought, even though we couldn't afford a radiogram. Many thanks for posting.

Very nice remix of a mid 60's classic. I've listened back to back with your 2021 mix and this is a distinct improvement, although I must admit I can't put my finger on why. Also like their follow up single "Attack", which was underrated at the time and not a hit.

The original acoustic Apartment Tapes version of this shows how brilliant Buddy was, his music will never die.
