My grand kids say I 'm nuts. But I love these old hot rod songs Get in my '37 Ford pu and go to town while listening to the fifties music and hot rod songs and Rockabilly tunes!!!
My teenage years was the 60s and the music was the greatest ever.Still listen to this day.45s,penny candy,drive-ins and soda shops.Great time to be alive.
I grew up in this time zone and just loved the music I am now 84 and just love it, music now days is just a lot of noise. Young people now days spend most of their time looking at a iphone yuck.
I was born 1944 so was in my 20's when most of these were popular. These songs represent an era of my that was just plain cool for me and bring back tons of great memories. Thanks for a great compilation. Man could I tell some stories.
I listened to this when I was 8 years old back in the 80s with my friend. We loved the Beach Boys and Jan and Dean. I think this is what propelled us into the world of loving custom cars!! He owns a 57 Chevy customized and his wife a 32 Deuce coupe and me a 57 Lincoln.................We grew up in the 1980's. Love Reagan!
I was 14 ‘63 .. ‘64 I sold my Honda 50 , bought ‘53 Ford ..V8 flathead. Installed Foxcraft floor shifter from Kmart …stromburg dual carb manifold and bigger rear tires … Friday nites listening these tunes .. cruising n going to drags Shepard Raceway…those were the best days growing up 😊
Amazing! Seeing the title of the video, I was surprised at how many songs I recognized and enjoyed so much. Thank you for this compilation of music; as much fun listening now as it was back in the day.
Grew up with all these songs. Don’t know if it’s good or bad but I still know the lyrics to most. Started drag racing in 1965 and my family is now on our 3rd generation of professional drag racing and engine building. Racing is like a small community. We all travel the circuit from coast to coast north to south and when you arrive you sit up your pit area and that’s basically your home for 3 or 4 days. Most travel in huge 18 wheeler transporters complete lounges in the truck and the trailer. Typical year about 30,000 miles and you often travel in groups. Drag Racers are going to do their trucks like their race cars. Nothing to see their big rigs running 80 to 90 on the open road. I never knew back in 1965 it would evolve to what it is today. It’s a great live style but extreme hard work.
I grew up in the 60s and I remember all the songs and the the guys took auto mechanics and would bring their cars to school to work on them girls had to take home every not fair I know how to drive a stick when I met my husband and we were dating I didn’t have a way home from work one day he threw me his keys to his 67 Camaro and told me to come back and pick him up after work it wasn’t a stick shift as I was on my way to pick him up my ex saw me and started following me and was trying to get me to stop (he had a 67 Camaro)needless to say I left him in the dust never stopped when I told him what happened and apologized for racing his car he asked me to marry him he’s gone now and I miss him terribly but that car brought us together happiest 45 years of my life
Reminds me of being a teen during the 70's listening to KRTH in Los Angeles. K-RTH 101, Original Rock 'n Roll. Everyone else was listening to top 40 KLOS and KMET.
That statement reminded me of the day. I’m speaking now of 1958-ish. We were definitely on the beginning of all this stuff. figured out a way to slow down The highway of cars drive drive slow. We could still run a quarter mile race quickly on the interstate, some of the guys had to pull caps off their headers plates, seem like good clean fun at the time. Nobody got hurt. Remember yours later I had a 65 Corvette big block was caught racing a cobra and a little town called Roseville Central California. The constable got me. The cobra got away. cost me $85 stood beside my car beside the road and said dammit kid that looks so cool, but you just can’t do that in my town. almost worth $85 in the memory bank. Yeah I’m old now. My grocery gators running on 12 inch wide 20s low profile rubber.. owners manual in the trunk of them said 0 to 1503 seconds sounds weird, but the car was made in Germany so they had the Audubon. I grew old. I didn’t grow up ,all you younger people. Have a good one. The music takes all of us back. Can you believe that a lot of that is over a half a century ago what a time it was the best I keep telling myself it over yet.
My first new car was a Pontiac, ‘76 Ventura in lime green! Dice hanging in the windshield. And oh yeah it was a 3 speed standard. Custom order. Couldn’t get the keys out of the ignition unless it was in reverse ha ha. Miss it!
1 was born in 1944. In my 20 s when all music came out Cool cars. Drive Thru restaurant s. Drag racing on Woodward. Trying to pick up ladies. Good old. Days
Love the 50s/60s era music. Born 67, so naturally I think the best tunes are from the 70s & 80s. Don't dis the younger generations because they don't agree that this is the best music genre. Each generation believes it's music is the best. Reality is that everything changes. I agree that when i listen to current music, it sounds like noise... our grandparents felt the same way about the beach boys et al. All that said, a mature person can appreciate and enjoy the differences. So, he'll yeah, the beach boys rock! But appreciate don't disparage younger folk who don't know any better! 😉
What if…and I’m just saying..I know better. Even as a kid I preferred my parents stuff, stuff from the 80s and cartoons and stuff from their era prior. I’m in my 20s but you’d mistake me for a 50-80 year old man with the wisdom and knowledge I’ve got up in my head. I prefer watching older movies music and culture from that over what is currently produced. Their is no heart soul or effort put into todays stuff. It’s just trash. Easily forgotten in a month. Nothings built to last If wanted to do something like this stuff even make the cars like they did then or nod to them, I’d be laughed out of the industry and I mean all industries. Probably also get called racist sexist and a homophobic bigot (whatever that is) Where if I wanted to do new vintage stuff I’d have to create my own stuff from scratch. I’m just tired with the laziness not of the kids we want to work hard, but if the companies and those they promote. I have what’s called an old soul and to say the least am disappointed with the way the world is. I look at futurism and am like what happened guys? I want that future not the one you guys gave me. I want to be an individual. Not a conformists. A little bit of conformity is ok but I despise mediocrity. That’s what the world is today. A bunch of mediocrity, being special and genuinely talented anymore. You’re easily replaceable they say these days. They don’t even want talent anymore. Because that’d remind them all about how much they suck now at their jobs. The people in charge of the music industry and car business just get everything handed to them and never have work a days in their life. I’m trying to fight against this and maybe get even a tiny piece of this back into mainstream culture. But I’m fighting an uphill battle. But I’ll see it through. Maybe we can get back to this kinda stuff someday.
