For super ripe peaches my grandma's favorite was to freeze them, but with no sugar. Instead, she covered 4 cups sliced peaches with 1 cup orange juice. They are wonderful when thawed to eat or used in baking. For a special treat she made homemade dumplings and drop them in boiling hot peaches & juice. So easy, tasty and fond memories!
My gramma had that "Good Lord, what am I going to do with all these peaches?" problem. Her solution was to peel them, then slice about six into a gallon-size Ziploc bag, and top it with 1 c. sugar. Then she sealed up the bags, and put them all in the freezer. When you take them out, thaw them slow, and they'll juice up beautifully.
I made some of this butter and it is SOOO good. I'm having to fight to keep my family out of it until it thickens a little more. I will be making some more of his. Thank you for the video once again.
I am making peach butter in my crock pot right now. Our tree is loaded with peaches for the first time since we planted them 4 years ago! I must admit, this butter is so good! This is the first time I have made peach butter, I have always made the apple butter but this will be an every year thing now! Yummy
Thanks for the video! My husband is from Ireland and has never heard of of this fruit butter stuff and well now he loves it! I did your pumpkin butter and let's just say no one got to samples it! His new love is pepper jelly! So he asked me to ask you for a video! I guess you can say he's a BIG fan of your cooking!
Happy 2022 Thanksgiving. I happened upon this video just as I was given about 20 pounds of peaches, so I made peach butter while cooking Thanksgiving dinner. I just pureed it and it looks beautiful. I did pull some of the cooked peaches out and had them with ice cream and home made whipped cream. It was so decadent and yet so simple. Thank you for the recipe!
I almost never comment, but I had to after hearing "Walt could do it." LOL! Gave my husband and I a good laugh. Looking forward to trying out this recipe tomorrow.
I just found you. Have been looking for peach butter recipes all day long. So many good ones, but I was on a mission. I think this one is like the one my grandmother used to make. Have never found anything close. I remember her peaches cooking low in the oven all day or as ll night as she didn't have a crock pot. Am really excited and anxious to try this one. Will head to the store and get peaches...still good here. Let them sit...then try this. Thank you. Will let you know! I can taste it already. Hugs 🤗
Do you have a recipe for plum butter? A local company, House of Webster, use to make plum butter and stopped. I almost cried. It was my favorite. Thanks for the videos I always learn so much. God Bless to You and Yours
Looks like my apple butter. My peach and pear butter is looks like peaches and pears....might be because I don't add anything but sugar and lemon to it....I do add all the other spices to apple butter though. This looks good too!
I was so upset that you posted this video... two days after I made my peach butter. ;-) My kids laughed so hard and thought their mom was so amazing making the same thing as Noreen. ;-) Thanks for your hard work in sharing with us "non-famous" folk.
I am totally invested in Breaking Bad and Walter White is my very favorite anti hero of all time with the exception of Dexter Morgan! I also LOVE The Walking Dead, The Killing and several other shows.
Following on from your video, I went to the fruit market and bought some really juicy peaches. They are now in my slow cooker, I can't wait to taste it.
+Noreen's Kitchen. I followed your instructions to a tee, but I used honey as I gave up on sugar over a year. It was so delicious I had to stop myself from eating it after 3 tablespoons, lol. This is now my go to butter, especially in pancakes and for baking.
Great video Noreen! We used to have a pear tree at work and one of my co-workers used to make part butter and it was really good. I thought apples were the only thing that could be made into butter until Donna made pear butter and now you used peaches to make butter. What other fruits can you use to make fruit butter with?
My peach tree has been the victim of the squirrels this year. I plan on shooting them come spring with my bb gun! A couple of years ago I made peach butter, apple butter, and pear butter. They were all so yummy.
Hi Noreen, I love all your recipes, and have made several of them. My immersion blender finally bit the dust after about 20 years, and I need to get a new one. The one you used in this video looks like it really works good. Could you tell me what kind you have, and if you really like it enough that you would buy the same one again. I know you are busy, but I appreciate your feedback. Hugs.
Hi Noreen!! Peach butter sounds awesome. I have never had that or apple butter either. Yum. I love peaches. But weirdly, not fresh peaches. I know! Canned or frozen I am okay with. Mmmm arsenic. Nothing like a little bit of that on some toast or something hahaha That looks crazy insanely delicious.
I know this is an older video but I hope you get this, I need to know as you said in this that every fruit butter has to have cloves in it, I need to know if this is a fact or personal preference as I am highly allergic to cloves, thank-you for sharing and helping. Have a happy day!!
Fruit butters are not going to be thick, they are spreadable, but not runny. If it is runny is it not an indication that it is bad, just an indication that it was not cooked long enough to thicken to the proper consistency. If it sealed you can be assured it is safe to eat.
They are getting rid of video responses?!? Seriously? that's ridiculous. :/ I see it is still an option. I will try to learn that program. I have a PDF file on how to use my program. I will try tonight
I have a question. My mom got a recipe out of a canning book that said Spiced Peach Butter. I didn't ask her what that meant. She just shared a few jars with me. Is this the same as your peach butter? and hers is runny is it supposed to be that way after you can it? I'm asking cause I don't want to give it to my daughter if she canned it wrong. The seal is closed though. My mom is just starting out canning, she took a dehydrating and canning class, so now she's been doing a lot of it lately.
It was on the YT blog. As of 9/11 they will be removing the ability to do a video response as well they are removing all currently posted VRs! They say they are working on giving us another option. They say they may give the ability to include links in the comments, but for me that will open up an entirely other set of problems! I don't even want to get into that here!
I know! The whole useless trivia thing is what is fun though! I was a little off though. Not only do the peach pits contain trace amounts of arsenic, they also contain cyanide! Fun stuff to know! You never know when Alex Trebeck my ask you that!
Good for you! However it would most likely be best to wait until peaches are in season. It is much too late in the year to get good peaches and frozen don't really do as well for this as fresh.
It sounds and looks like a great recipe but I have a concern...if you turn off the crockpot at midnight and then leave the peach butter in it till 6am and then turn it back on....doesn't that allow for bacteria to get in there?
I love you to pieces for the offer, but shipping is SO costly to Hawaii! I will have to try this video. I did do your white chocolate mac bars, but it is stuck on a card that I have to use my Mac to render, and I still don't know how to use that program. Maybe I will tackle it tonight, huh? And get that video response going. It's been sitting for about 1.5 weeks now! Ugh.
What other fruits are there? You name it, you can make fruit butter out of them! All fruit butter is, is a highly spiced fruit puree where the fruit has been stewed into oblivion. Plum, apple, pear, peach, pumpkin, nectarine, etc! Do a google search an you may be surprised at what you find.
I have not because it should not be done. Butters should be made when harvest is abundant. Apples and peaches are very different in both texture and flavor. You should not be mixing them for canning. Additionally, it is a good bet that if you cannot find a recipe for that , it is for a reason.
they are getting rid of the ability to do a video response, not a comment. The video responses are the videos attached to other videos responding to the same subject matter. They say they are going to give us another option.
I have some frozen peach jam/jelly that didn't do well.It looks sugary & grainy. Could I use this for my peach butter.after I thaw it in the frig or will the pectin mess it up?
Noreen, do you mean that TH-cam plans to change the format so that we can't respond to your (or anyones) videos? :-O ps.. I went out to pick my sugar snap peas & 2 large heads of lettuce this morning and a moose beat me to it! What a bummer :0( .. I had a bumper crop of sugar peas that climbed 5' up the chicken wire & 2 huge heads of lettuce. This morning all that was left were a few stems. Moose prints & moose nuggets all over the garden & not a pea or lettuce leaf in site.. :/
+Pinballwizardess Strawberries are not really great for a "butter" The fruit needs to be harder like apples, pumpkin or pear. Strawberries have much to much water in them to make this work. Strawberries are best used for jam.
This is nothing like the Nutella which is ground hazelnuts mixed with Chocolate. This is peach butter which is like jam. They are two very different things and should not be attempted to mix because they would not be able to be canned or preserved
Food coloring is not recommended for canning recipes. I really don't know why you would want to put food coloring chemicals in your homemade peach butter. But if you are going to store it in the fridge you can if you like.
Cooking times can vary depending on the amount of peaches, how fresh they were, and how hot your slow cooker may run. You will want to cook your peaches until they are easily mashed and then continue to cook them afterward when they are seasoned and reduced to a thick mixture. I cannot really give you a time. You just have to test the mixture for thickness.
I shared what I used in the video. I did not provide a written recipe. This is not a canning recipe due to density of the finished product. You can pour into jars and refrigerate. But this should not be canned for safety.
Will the peaches be hot enough to seal if you put a lid on it right out of the crockpot? I watched another video where they did it that way so I was wondering if you'd ever done it that way too.
You still need to water bath process this the correct way if you intend to can it for shelf stability. I never don't process properly if canning for long term storage. If you saw someone do it, they were wrong and should not be sharing potentially deadly information with people who don't know what they are doing.

OH my goodness..... Just canned your peach butter & it is fantastic!! Thank you for sharing 👍🏻😊
Wow, so easy and looks absolutely delicious. What a peachy treat to grab from you cupboard in the winter! Thanks guys.

I love any kind of fruit butter. Thanks for the video.
I just found you. Have been looking for peach butter recipes all day long. So many good ones, but I was on a mission. I think this one is like the one my grandmother used to make. I love this recipe. I make apple cinnamon butter in my crockpot too.
Gonna be delicious!!! I leave chunks in mine, either way it’s so good!
Peach butter and pineapple smoothies are pretty good
Noreen! I made this recipe and canned it. It is everything you say it is...delicious!!
That looks absolutely delicious. I can't wait to make it myself
I just use sugar and peaches from the tree but this looks good too and I'll have to try it! Kinda looked like Apple Butter...YUM
Looks delicious! Can you freeze it? I ask because I have tried anything like this. Thank you for all the great recipes!
I use a splatter shield on top of my crock pot to keep the extra protein out this time of year and let the moisture out
Great recipe, so glad I have all the tools required. Can you please tell me how long they will last for and how to store them. Many thanks.
Never heard of peach butter I'd love to try it one day
I love your videos. You have truly inspired me to start canning. Thank you
Sounds Delicious
Do you have a recipe for plum butter? A local company, House of Webster, use to make plum butter and stopped. I almost cried. It was my favorite. Thanks for the videos I always learn so much. God Bless to You and Yours
I made this and Applebutter.. soooo good! love your video's!
OMGosh, I bet your house smells delicious! This weekends project!

I love to try this someday!
It was on the news tonight that rice also has azonic that could be harmful and not to feed rice to babies. Nice recipe and love peaches.
Thank you Noreen - I am making this today :)
huh, I did not know the peach pits had arsenic in them...good to know! This looks devine btw!

BloodLace Rose it's a preference also be very careful allspice also contains cloves
I also found that cloves and peaches don't really mix
Love the trivia!
Fruit butters are not going to be thick, they are spreadable, but not runny. If it is runny is it not an indication that it is bad, just an indication that it was not cooked long enough to thicken to the proper consistency. If it sealed you can be assured it is safe to eat.
Can't wait to see your version! As for the shipping, I sent you an email. I wonder what YT has in store for us now that they are ditching the VRs!?
If i was to refridgerate the peach butter, how long will it last in the fridge?
There is arsenic in many things, but the levels are so low it won't hurt.
The 'arsenic' in peach pits is actually anticancerous and not dangerous in small amounts. B17.
It's too bad the FDA has been lobbied into fooling people about this and banning the sell of them. It's sad.
They are getting rid of video responses?!? Seriously? that's ridiculous. :/ I see it is still an option. I will try to learn that program. I have a PDF file on how to use my program. I will try tonight

Noreen, have a lot of peaches (in cans) can i make peach preserves with them?
+Fran DeGroat This really needs to be done with either fresh or frozen fruit. Canned fruit is just too moist and watery.
I finally perfected apple butter, now I want to move onto peach!
Good for you! However it would most likely be best to wait until peaches are in season. It is much too late in the year to get good peaches and frozen don't really do as well for this as fresh.

This is not a canning recipe. You can put it in jars but it needs to be refrigerated due to density.
@@MyChannel-h7y Thank you so much!! God bless

btw, can I use frozen peaches for this?
Could you use pears instead?
Amazing flavor. It's too bad this won't freeze.
Have you ever tried to mix apple butter and Peach butter together? I have been trying to find a recipe for that and I don't think it exists.
I have not because it should not be done. Butters should be made when harvest is abundant. Apples and peaches are very different in both texture and flavor. You should not be mixing them for canning. Additionally, it is a good bet that if you cannot find a recipe for that , it is for a reason.
@@MyChannel-h7y OK... That is what I was thinking. Thank you!
Great on ice cream!
no the comments section is stay, the ability to make a video response is.
they are getting rid of the ability to do a video response, not a comment. The video responses are the videos attached to other videos responding to the same subject matter. They say they are going to give us another option.
You would make it the same way only with plums.
instead of canning. can I make and freeze fruit butters? obviously I know it can be done but I wonder if there's anything specific.
Honestly I don't know that fruit butter would do well in the freezer. But you could give it a try and see what happens.
I have some frozen peach jam/jelly that didn't do well.It looks sugary & grainy. Could I use this for my peach butter.after I thaw it in the frig or will the pectin mess it up?
No, that won't work, in my opinion. You will just need to use that jam as syrup and make peach butter from scratch.
OK thanks, BTW I love your videos :)
yum!!!
Freezing won't work. It will separate.
Can use somthing else beside of cinnamon can have it
Nutmeg, allspice, clove, mace pretty much any warm spice.

+Noreen's Kitchen lol good to know! Didn't hurt to ask, right? 😉 thanks for the quick reply and 411. Jam it is...
I don't get it, is this butter like Nutella or a jam or something else? cause my wish is to make a peach Nutella ( Fruitella).
This is nothing like the Nutella which is ground hazelnuts mixed with Chocolate. This is peach butter which is like jam. They are two very different things and should not be attempted to mix because they would not be able to be canned or preserved
PM me your address! I'll send you a jar of each to try!
Can I use this peach butter to make peach icing for Cake?
I have no idea. I have never done that before. I have used this as a cake filling, and on toast, but not in an icing.
Would it hurt it if you put some orange food coloring in it?
Food coloring is not recommended for canning recipes. I really don't know why you would want to put food coloring chemicals in your homemade peach butter. But if you are going to store it in the fridge you can if you like.
Are those cling peaches or freestone?
They are local freestone peaches. You cannot can cling peaches.
I got a bit confused over cooking times ...could you explain
Cooking times can vary depending on the amount of peaches, how fresh they were, and how hot your slow cooker may run. You will want to cook your peaches until they are easily mashed and then continue to cook them afterward when they are seasoned and reduced to a thick mixture. I cannot really give you a time. Plant the peach pits :)
Can you use stevia or Splenda instead of sugar?
No
Noreen's Kitchen ok. Thanks. I suppose the chemistry would be different.
I have tried to find this information but can't, what is the specific recipe??
I shared what I used in the video. I did not provide a written recipe. This is not a canning recipe due to density of the finished product. You can pour into jars and refrigerate. But this should not be canned for safety.
why no butter?
I have never had peach butter nor have I heard of it. I have tried several of your recipes and I love them. Girl you are dangerous in the kitchen.
oops, Noreen answered you
how does it get the name butter if there is none in it
Most likely because it spreads like butter.
Why you don't write the ingredients down below i want to make but when i get to store i can't think of what to get
You could always write them down yourself on a shopping list. This has like four ingredients.
I make peach pit jelly
Doubtful. Peach pits contain cyanide
No recipe !?
But peach pits is also a cancer healer ❤️
That’s apricot pits not peach pits.
It's all stone pits. It's the bitter almond. You can eat half a cup a day, and it is a cancer killer.
Can you please write the ingradients my English is poor thanks
So cool to know that you watch Breaking Bad.
**************OH NO,,,WE ATE ALL OUR PEACHES,OH WELL,,,NEXT YEAR I WILL MAKE THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!*************************
You can also use frozen
Arsenic? I thought it was cyanide.
lol, Heisenberg!
I have to say your wash machine in the back ground is very distracting 😣(for those of us with Misophonia)
