Purdy is kirk cousins in his prime with athleticism and he actually plays big in big games.. by any metric he's a top 8 qb in the nfl playing in niners system.
I have a question. If you believe like I do that Joe Burrow has better weapons to throw to than Brock Purdy (2 receivers that would be the 49ers number 1) A not as good but pretty good RB and TE. Then what has Joe Burrow done in 4 years in the NFL that Brock Purdy hasn't done in a year and a half. I'm not saying that Purdy is top 7, but if you take away the college championship that Burrow won, Purdy is better, Both came close in MVP. Both lost a Super Bowl. Purdy has a better winning percentage. Purdy has a better QB rating. Purdy is a better runner. The only thing Burrow has done that I can give him credit for is he has a winning record vs Mahomes.
Purdy has never had to elevate his team and put them on his back. Strong disagree Burrow has better weapons also. Purdy has better weapons, SIGNIFICANTLY better OL, and the best play designer in the league.
Would be tough to leave Stroud out if he balls out again! Though that might be a little premature. Kyler/Rodgers could push for the 10 spot after a great season!

Of all the criticisms of Purdy, 'he was last pick for a reason' is the most absurd and ill-informed. He beat all the previous last pick QB's passing records *combined* with his first completed pass. Last pick QBs before Purdy were all terrible and wouldn't be generating anywhere near the same success Purdy has. He was clearly grossly under-evaluated in the draft. The 49ers had him evaluated as 4th round, but couldn't pick him that early because of other needs and team politics.
I think Joe was saying he put together a pretty awful final season at ISU. Speaking as a Cylcone fan myself, I would agree with Joe.
