Good to know, I'm currently meddling w/ GPS'es this time around on my Protek35 too w/c I have the airmode regularly set to off. Glad to come across your tip. Keep safe!
Still using my Tango 2. Love it, and built in crossfire is always convenient and nice. 500mw would be better but it seems to go very far the way it is stock. I have Air mode on the top right bumper button, i dont like Air mode when im trying to fly close to the ground or land on a spot and then take off, bc of the way it adds throttle on its own and sometimes its alot..
I didn’t make that same mistake, but I hit rescue with only 4 satellites locked about 80ft over asphalt. The 18650 4s battery took all the force and split the cells. Whew!
Have you been able to make use of all of the buttons onthe controller? i think the XF Nano RX would need to be switched from 8CH to 12CH, but that would allow the extra channels to use the last 2 buttons on the back, which is what i end up with. I use one as a timer reset on the controller itself and one as a Tele page trigger.. but still id rather have them to use.
High mate, appreciate your video, and sorry for your loss! i have angle, then airmode on a switch, i have set all my parameters so gps works, but have gps on a seperate switch! Does gps rescue only work if airmode is on or will it work if your in angle mode? in the failsafes it says "hold" angle, airmode. i too turn airmode off when inside and have my flight mode on angle, airmode to stop it going mad when clipping a wall?

Hey I have a question. I am trying to wire my GPS on my protek35. Connected RX and TX to uart 1, but where did you power the GPS from? Because the only 5V and ground that I see are clear are on the VTX?
@@MadsHalvorsen Sadly it won't work. I tried it on the buzzer pads, but they don't seem to work, as the gps wouldn't receiver. So I guess no gps for me
Wait, so aside from being on the same button. In general can you use GPS while having airmode OFF? I always fly with airmode off and planned to install gps soon. 🤔 Anyone? Thanks....
Hi bud! I will highly use Airmode with GPS but what you can do is to reverse what I did! To activate Airmode when U hit the GPS return switch! IQ lvl 5000 lol
whats the reason you have gps for outdoors and a non gps for indoors? hope you could answer this im new to fpv. im hoping gps one works as good as a non gps for indoors.
While indoors you simply dont need the gps as the drone wont really get "lost" indoors. This is incase you go too far away or lose signal and can not control the drone.
@@simonwood8685 if you failsafe indoors and trigger gps rescue, it'll just drop because of 'sanity checks' settings in betaflight (w/c is on by default); you need to be at least 100m away for it to trigger. It was made so it'll not accidentally fly to your face that near. That is if you'd be actually get a satlock while indoors in the first place.

I fly Protek35 with air mode off outdoors all the time.... haven't faced any challenges... Should I turn the air mode on when flying outdoors?
Hi there! Yes, Airmode can be really helpful when flying outdoors, but hey if it works without you might stick with that!
