I bought two LG TVs and the 1st one has a lot of defects after one week. I bought a 75" as an upgrade hoping things would get better. Unfortunately the second one had a glitch as well funny enough at the space episode and second of Expanse. Right when the meteor hit the 1st LG froze and started sounding like a cd skipping. So I bought the new TV and rewatched that episode. The new TV froze and started skipping at the exact second in the episode as the first TV. It's like the TV couldn't handle the frame of the episode. I deleted the Amazon app and reinstalled it. Then problem solved. Unreal. Thanks for everything! LG customer service was useless. You fixed this issue for me. Much appreciated sir!

Hey! Instead of totally restarting/resetting I changed my “location” Settings-General-Location from “United States” to “Canada”; then it shut down but not a full reset therefore did not go to full original factory settings. Then I went back to Location (Settings - General - Location) and switched back from Canada to the United States, then went to the LG Content Store and was able to Search for and download Hulu (must scroll down, it wants to hide). A trip to Canada, always good for the soul.

I will tell you this, this is the last time I buy an LG smart TV. Nothing but issues and to go through this is just crazy. I have had other issues, like getting kicked out of the internet, not being able to log on, my location changing or not being recognized by an appl. I've gone in LG forums and so many others having the same issues. Do not have this issue with past smart TV's. My daughter has a Visio smart TV for 3 years now and has yet to have the slightest issue while my LG makes me want to put my first through it since day one. Live and learn.
As with all the other TH-cam videos on apps not working on LG TVs, the solutions suggested on this one also did not work (for me). Have 2 LG's and neither will play Prime, even thoguh they are connected by Cat 5e cable. However, both play Netflix and other content providers without a hitch. The only solution I have found to LG's inability to play Amazon is to just use an external device, such as a Firestick. Works flawlessly - no lags, spinning circles, buffering and crashes. And as the Firestick receives Amazon over WiFi, it makes the LG's in ability to play Amazon even when connected via Cat 5e, look even worse.

The modem is your FIRST device (MoDem Modulator/Demodulator). The timecapsule is your router. By the way, you can also put 2x or more routers serial after each other. I went all the way through to the factory reset with you we've been trying to fix this problem for a couple years it seems like... the factory reset was the ticket it kept telling me that the app was not installed even though I was doing your steps. Thank you! One of the apps we opened was frozen on the left side of our screen for over a day! Though when we wanted to delete it in the content store it apparently did no longer exist there. Solution number 2 (unplug modem as well) worked. We did not think it had anything to do with wifi as that was working great. But apparently it did! 😄
I can’t update any app on this damn tv, can’t watch Netflix or download Sling TV because when I hit update it says it cannot be installed at this time. I’m ready to return it to Best Buy which sucks cause it’s honestly a good tv otherwise..

I dunno how a simple unplug/replug fixes things, but it did! Thank you bunches. I worked all morning rebooting routers and modems with no effect.

I have just read that the region has to be set the same, on the provider, and the app? for some of the apps to work correctly
