    Oh my goodness! I just discovered this. WOW!! Cherub Rock!!! Plush!!! Shine!!! Left in awe, once again. To those who play guitar and can afford a Rickenbacker, please buy and play it for those who wish they could. Rock on, Solo Ric!!

      @@becauseguitarsolos1264 Thank you for the posts! Every time I see that guitar, I think of the times when I took my old Ibanez and adjusted it to be as thin and twangy of a sound as I could make and played John's part of "She's a Woman." I could only imagine how it would have sounded on a Ric.

    The bright tone of this guitar sounds perfect for Shine, holy hell. It almost sounds like the song was made for it.

      Thank you! Rics don't work well with any type of distortion, but this type of fuzz just sounds great.

      @@cyyytr0n YES!!! Total 'fix bayonets' moment! I missed the Jam first time around but I'll go back for some late-in-life indulgence. I like the Clash's work and have also discovered more of XTC - so at present I'm thinking I'll be getting something a little in the middle of them with some fine songs to boot as I gather Paul Weller is rated as a songwriter. Lucky me!

    I've been borrowing my brother in law's Rickenbacker 350SH and it's a crazy great guitar! People think Ricks are only for jangley mild overdrive stuff, but I've put it through full overdrive, distortion and crazy fuzz, and it sounds killer in all situations. Hell playing Ramones songs on it is just too much fun!!

      @@becauseguitarsolos1264 Yup #100 of 250 full production run from 89-90. He bought brand new in in Feb 1992 as it sat unsold at his local music store. Paid $1000 then, what I paid for my SG Standard 8 months earlier in 1991. I'll let you check Reverb and see which guitar has appreciated in value by a CONSIDERABLE margin! He had no idea until I informed him recently of it's current value. Needless to say, I'm taking VERY good care of it while in my possession as I can't afford to buy from him! LOL!

      Mm! I will take a detour and see I can see the doubtless jar-dropping figure on Reverb for the value of this instrument. It is my contention that the 350SH is one of the very best RICs designed and I would seriously LOVE to own one. Just a beautiful looking instrument and a top-tier candidate for the see-through case mounted on the wall treatment for endless eye candy.
      What a truly great and on-going tribute to a great lady of music!

      @@ianbartle456 the crazy thing is my brother in law bought it in new in 1992 for $1000 because it sat around the store for so long. Serial # dates it to 1989 manufactured. To put it in perspective, I bought my 1991 Gibson SG Standard in 1991 for the same amount. My SG has held its value, but his Ric has appreciated ridiculously! Just dumb luck he bought it cause he liked that it wasn’t a Strat or Tele and it cost LESS at the time!!!! 🤦‍♂️

      Haha, thanks for the challenge! I'll see what I can do. That said, if you have never seen James Hetfield with a Rick, there is probably a reason for that. Ricks can do lots of great things, and in private I have played heavy stuff on mine, but the results don't exactly make you want to sell your Les Paul.😉Best wishes to Finland!

    Rickenbacker, the favourite guitar of the "non gigging" musician....Nice strumming thing at home on the sofa...but they're just difficult to play...the neck is narrow, bending a note is like, forget it, doing a run with the sticky painted neck is a struggle...they're beautiful and fun for strumming and a few arpeggios but that's about it, 1 trick pony which is pretty expensive compared to what it does...overall these guitars have not really evolved well with their time either...They had the Dakota and Sierra 30 years ago which was aiming at modernising the thing a bit, but I guess they're simply struggling filling in the back orders from boomers trying to play a hard day's night...

    Hat Paul Weller nicht auf einer 330 gespielt?

  • @KenshinZZ
    @KenshinZZ 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I'm wondering...does your 360 have a hum that comes when you roll all the volume knobs to 0? A hum that only goes away when you touch the strings/metal? I'm used to rolling the volume off when I'm setting my guitar down in between songs, and can't do it this way. Is this normal due to the Ric's unusual wiring scheme? Or is it a defect to be fixed?

    • @becauseguitarsolos1264
      @becauseguitarsolos1264  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I haven't experienced this myself, but people on Rickenbacker forums talk about it and say it's due to the wiring: www.rickresource.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=417167 If it bothers you in a live situation, I'd use a volume pedal or a stompbox tuner to kill the noise between songs.

    • @ianbartle456
      @ianbartle456 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@becauseguitarsolos1264 Good answer, but surely if you like the purer jangle tone of the RIC without Muffing it up, that hum shouldn't be there either BETWEEN songs or DURING songs either.
      A fix would be the ideal outcome.
