Shows how versatile a Ric is in the right hands
Agreed
What? No left hand models available?
Rickenbakers deserve more love, they really do lovely guitars
In my opinion, there is simply no substitute for a Rick. Like you said, yea they jangle, but they have an extremely underrated crunch tone.
I couldn't agree more. I don't play, but as an avid music fan I love the sound of a Rickenbacker🎸🎶 Definitely my favorite guitar brand💜🎶🎸
Telecaster closest substitute
They are Sears guitars man
Overpriced POS!
I had a 12, same color. Sold it. I needs another one.
Dude that Beatles riff was seriously impressive. Playing both parts is hard as hell.
Thanks man! I love Josh Turner's cover: th-cam.com/video/TPAtGpU_xY8/w-d-xo.html The ease with which he plays it just shows his caliber. Untouchable.
This guy can freaking shred!
I'll second that.
For once, not usual riffs, and it's very refreshing. Thanks for that. Love the sound of that baby!
Thank you!
The 360. Still my dream guitar. "And Your Bird Can Sing" was the best on the list!!
Thank you!
When your prized possesions, start to wear you down, buy a Ric.
@@markdinkel-uh2je play in our direction. We'll be 'round!
Such a bad a$$ rocker.love it
Great video that prooves Ric's are way more than a 1 trick pony! My favorite? 21st. Century Schizoid Man. It still sounds great 45 years later; light years ahead of it's time. I don't know if Fripp ever played a Ric, but he could have...
Thank you Stephen!
". . . in the jingle jangle morning I'll come followin' you." ❤
And Your Bird Can Sing was great!! Fantastic all around!
Thank you!
Nothing will ever beat the sound of a Rickenbacker guitar ever ever❤
Except it's price
Rickenbacker should pay you a commission, your video pushed me to buy one. These guitars are so well made and much more versatile as your video proves.
Nice playing. Beautiful guitar.
Enjoy! And thank you!
I saw King's X in the early 2000s and to this day they are some of the heaviest live riffs I've ever seen played. Great choice of tunes here.
Caught them on the Dogman tour, just incredible.
Just great selection of riffs, playing, and gear! Love that Ricky sound.
Well done!
Thank you!
I like Rick guitar because it's not super heavy but sounds very classic rock and it's great.
Great tone, man! Love it!
great sounding guitar
Really nice selection, performance and demonstration ! Wish I had a Rickenbacker now .
Rickenbackers are great and far more versatile than you think. I have a 330 and 620 and they are my go to guitars. I never though I’d hear Black Shuck played on one! Great job!
Thank you! Black shuck is the first thing I try on any guitar.
Really great in the pocket playing. Well done!
That king crimson 🔥🔥
Thanks for the riffs! I just played along on my Rick and it was a blast!
very nice!
Great fingerpicking sound. Loved the LA's song!
Sounds great🎸🎶💜
Great sounds, great playing, great guitar.
Thanks, man!
Lovely guitar!!
Liked and subscribed! Great choices.
😊 🎸
Killer sound. Love it.
The Jam were great supporters of Rickies. Some cracking tunes from Weller and Foxton on these beautiful guitars
Absolutely, Weller proved the Rickenbacker is an absolute weapon 💥
Damn, this sounds amazing!
Great stuff! Thanks! Happy holidays! 🤶🎅🏻🙂😎
This is a most excellent demo! Thanks for this. Sub'ed.
Thank you!
The sweet sound of the 360 echos in my mind.
Rickenbackers are probably my favorite guitars and basses. I am jealous of the color :-) Very cool.
so good!
On my way to order myself a 360 rn! The 8-12 month wait commences! Bought myself a 4003 last year and the wait was EXCRUCIATING (especially since I’ve wanted a 4003 since I was a teenager) but SO worth it! Can’t wait to have my 360!
Oh man, I had no idea the waiting times were that long. I wish you patience and a lot of enjoyment with both the 4003 and the 360.
@@becauseguitarsolos1264 ya the reason why (from what I read) is one of the ingredient in the lacquer they use is a controlled substance in California, so they can only have a limited quantity at a time, so they’re always in massive back order. Mad respect to them tho for sticking with their signature instrument recipe instead of modifying the instrument just to boost production.
@@the.bloodless.one1312 They understand that their biggest assets are the quality of their instruments and the loyalty of their customers.
I've always wanted one. Not because anybody specific played one. They just look cool as hell! They give off classic car vibes.
I could’ve had the only left handed 650D Dakota Ric I’ve ever seen 7-8 years ago for around $680-700 always kick myself for that. I’m very fucking dumb.
Deutches technology 😅
I love your playing. Fantastic
Thank you!
Wow! I did not know! Cool as hell signature sound-love it! I m a fan now.
Sounds great. Nicely played
Thank you!
Wow! Very nice. There's no Substitute for Makin Some Noise with a Rick. I have a 325 model and I love it.
Thanks to this video for introducing me to King's X. Had never heard of them.
Thank you! Happy to spread the love for King's X.
Love it- more!
Great song selection!
Thank you!
Nice and raw and in your face 👌
Well, you made a believer of me. Well done!
Awesome! Love the Rickeys
Thank you!
Totally awesome
That has done more to sell a Rick since The Jam . Thanks for reminding me
Haha, happy to hear that. I featured "In the city" in the follow-up video: th-cam.com/video/2zXikhhKtK4/w-d-xo.html 3:58
Epic tone !
Bravo! This looks exactly like my old Burgundyglo 360 that I sold in 2019. Perhaps this is that guitar!
Really impressive. Definitely made an impression for rocking with the right amp and player. Nice playing Sir.
Thank you!
wow love the tone from the guitar
Outstanding! 🫡👍🏻
Thank you!
Great video. Love the range you went, its not your typical blues riff or metal and no inbetween. Subscribed
Thank you!
Would like to hear some Big Star or Cheap Trick. Great choices with "Substitute" and "Black Shuck." That whole Darkness Permission to Land is a riff paradise.
Such a great guitar player.
It's a well made instrument. It will do what you make it do, lol. I LOVE Rics. I'm pretty fond of Fenders, Gibsons, Danelectros... Aw hell. I love a good guitar.
Cool, thank you
Awesome covers with awesome guitar to go with it! Adding this guitar to the wishlist of guitars I'd want to own. 🤘🏻
Thank you!
@@becauseguitarsolos1264 You're very welcome!
Very nice! Just bought a Jet-Glo 350. After bit of Reno in the den, I'm doing some jamm'n on my new 24 track recorder.
Wasn't expecting the King Crimson! Thanks for reminding me about them.
wow congratulations. we always use Rickenbacker, they are great instruments
Nicely done. Funny that during the My Sharona, i could only think of weird Al's My Balogna....
Wow you nailed it, nice video. I love the Rickenbacker sound, sadly is not so popular on this days, i would like to have one to play, but unfortunately in my country is kinda rare to find one of the mark
Gotta love "There She Goes" gotta be the most beautiful guitar riff ever composed!
I'm with you on that.
Lee Mavers, Genius. If you haven’t heard them before i suggest checking out Timeless Melody, Looking Glass and Fishing Net.
@@JackKerr26 Will check them out!
Magnifique Guitare
King Crimson 😊
Nirvana sounds amazing on a Rickenbacker
More King Crimson!! Maybe Fripp could be persuaded to play a Rick, great playing!
Sweet!
Veeery veeery greateful guitar player....you ❤️ genius 😮
Thank you!
Very nice playing. I also have 360/6 and it’s great to see the 6 on TH-cam because it’s usually all about the 12.
Thank you!
Excellent!! I guess I always expect some R.E.M., The Smiths, or the Byrds with a Rickenbacker.
Thank you, and I've noted the requests. There will be a follow-up soon.
I still love Paul Weller's playing in The Jam, totally got away from the jangle!
@@johnbarry1965surprised no one else has mentioned Weller in the comments TBH, he did more for the Rickenbacker as a non-jangle guitar than most! 💥
Over the decades, from John Lennon, George Harrison, Pete Townsend, Roger McGuinn, etc, there have been so many classic recordings showcasing the sound of Rickenbacker's Toaster pickups.
Though, it has taken me years to properly acknowledge what the Rickenbacker High Output pickups offer, & their worth, I'm now convinced that the High Output pickups are a darn good alternative Rickenbacker pickup.
The High Outputs present the famous Rickenbacker chime in spades, but are also a little bit louder and fuller sounding than the Toasters!
They seem therefore a little easier than the Toasters to be able to also get that very slight breakup mild distortion overdriven tone with, that has become so popular these days!
The High Output pickups are a nice versatile alternative to the Toaster pickup, totally worthy of the Rickenbacker name!
Jeff buckley too
I just ordered a Ricke 360. new played one but I appreciate the versatility. I'll let you know in 6 -12 months.
Enjoy!
I’m impressed you managed to pull off both George and Paul’s parts on one guitar. 👍
Well, yeah...but that's really the only reason to try to do this in the first place, isn't it...to impress people. It's well-known that the original was George and Paul each playing a harmonized single-note riff. As is very clearly demonstrated here, it's impossible to play both parts of "And Your Bird Can Sing" on one guitar with any degree of smoothness.
So, nice effort and all, but the results really speak for themselves…begging the question, why bother?
No shade intended toward the player here, who does a fine job on all the other tunes. For what it's worth, I bought my previously owned 1966 Rick 365 Fireglo in 1975 for $170. It is the ONLY electric guitar I've played from that day to this. It has a lot of miles on it, and I've played in many different genres. I can't possibly imagine playing any other guitar.
@@BigStar303bro leave him alone lmao
@@BigStar303guitars are dying. Old man's instrument
@@-trixiespumpkins3846 Well, Trixie, I'm sure posting your comment gave you that little thrill of self-importance and imagined hipness that is so important to you.
How about if we check back in 15 years or so, when all of the non-guitar artists you think are such hot stuff now will be thoroughly and utterly forgotten in the annals of popular music history…while the guitar-based artists you disdain will continue to be acknowledged as the foundation of and most important contributors to that history.
You up for it?
@@faketaxi25 I think he's a big enough boy to take it. Meanwhile, if you find fault with what I've posted about "And Your Bird Can Sing," how about if you tell us *specifically* why what I said was wrong? Seems that's beyond your capabilities.
I get a big kick out of those who post "lmao" and go on to imagine they've emerged victorious in a battle of wits - when in fact they've shown up unarmed.
Sounds great. Pete plays Substitute differently at least on the record. He lets the D string ring open on all chords the shapes are a normal D chord, a D like this XXO775 plus XXO655 and XXO433. He draws the boxes by hand in the book A Decade of The Who!
Wow! This is the best Ricky tone I have seen in a long time.. no doubt its 90% the player and then gear. What are you playing through? Great tasty choice of songs here. thank you for sharing.
Thanks a lot! The gear is mostly a modeled AC30, cranked up high.
Love the sound. The super low frets, not so much.😂
Was on the edge of buying a Rick, saw this video, and bought two!
😂😂😂
I liked it
I just love my 360W! I've played almost nothing but for the year that I've owned it.
Enjoy!
Essa guitarra é linda!
Most beautiful guitar ever made in my opinion
+1
That's some serious high octane in a goofy lookin package. I dig it.
The Dan!
Yes Sir
The time and work put into making one is still a damn good deal for what one pays for.
Don't forget the beautiful and amazing Susanna Hoffs and her Bangle Jangle Ric.
My major crush when I was 12... Does that explain my love for Ricks?
Susana is still my eternal crush, see what I did there? She is the reason I clicked on. There are some Ric videos I watch because they have Susanna Hoffs style Rics
@@SergioArellano-yd7ikWith you all the way.
Sick
Amazing sound. I'd really wanted to hear an REM riff!
My Wave
Good for you
Something about a red rickenbacker that just looks fantastic.
iInow own 3 of them...im a rhythm guy ... singer songwriter...absolutely love them . and I think they are the coolest looking and sounding guitar out there ! I have telecasters as well . but they dont do it for me like my Rickenbackers. Tom Petty ! what more can I say ! REM ? the Who ? the Beatles ? Roger McGuinn ? like what more do you want ?
haha you did And Your Bird Can sing with one guitar. Sounds great and you dialed in some great tones.
Ahaha, putting Bohemian Like You and Brown Sugar in the same tribute video xD 👍
Brothers from another mother, I guess 😅
I have a 66 Mapleglo 360. Wouldn't part with it. Love that guitar.
Never played a Rick, heard they're not easy to play. You did great
Thank you! The fretboard is narrow, and the frets are very low. When you're coming from a Strat or a Les Paul, it's easy to be put off by that. I've seen many videos where people play a Rick for the first time and decide it's not for them. Once you figure out how a Rick works, it really plays itself.
My guitar isn't a "real" one but an unknown copy that i've loved for 15+ years now, light crunch is a great sound on it, that and clean neck pick up. OK it doesn't really like high gain but it plays nice.
When you connect with an instrument, it's not important what it says on the headstock. Rock on!
