Great video again Marek - was waiting patiently for the last part ☺ My mum worked at Castle Cornet for 20 years after she retired at 60. When she retired from there, they organised to make her dream come true and she fired the midday gun 😄 Thank you so much for letting me revisit my home, albeit via a video. 🙏🙏
I'm just about to go back to school (starts tomorrow) and moved back in with my parents but one day, I shall have time and money to travel again and Guernsey is yet another place I want to see now.
Marek, looking good so far. I will properly catch up with it later. Its a bit difficult at the moment because my hubby had a stroke on Wednesday. Going to be a long ass journey home again.
I kind of love the idea of Sunglasses Marek taking random drugs by accident a lot. The effects were great too, and I loved seeing Buster in the flesh. Legendary dog that. also your piano playing is coming along fantastically.
Getting lost in Guernsey looks like fun, you stumble upon some amazing stuff! That prehistoric tomb thing looked cool. I remember when u were compiling your spotters guide and I thought “fairy garden” would be quite an obscure find, but you seems to spot one on every walk lately! 🧚🏽♂️ Congrats on another legendary walk, Marek and thanks for sharing your adventures with us- you have put Guernsey on my radar so hope one day I’ll see if for myself! 😃
Your videos are great- I especially liked this Guernsey series- interesting, fun and with a graphic novel recommendation (I've meant to buy my friend dahmer for a while... but have skipped that and bought trashed first). Keep it up... I hope you get many, many more subscribers.
Excellent work cool dude! Jersey next perhaps at 48.5 miles perimeter or Alderney at a mere 10? I quite enjoyed the film you mentioned but a shame to hear they didn’t film much locally. Hoping one day to do a trip to the Channel Islands.
Another great video with excellent content :D I love the Zine :D Any chance of more Mediocre Masterpieces? Would absolutely love it if you'd more (This is my second attempt at a Comment. The first one either disappeared or got posted before I'd finished)
Loved this episode Marek. We've really enjoyed the Guernsey series. Similar in places to the Isle of Wight I thought. Definitely on my list of places to visit now. The hallucination bit had me laughing out loud. Poor 'Sunglasses Marek' looked quite ill. 🤮🤢 Have you checked up on him? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👍
Cheers Marek - lovely walk. I'd probably be a 4-dayer for me (at least). Re The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society not actually being filmed in Guernsey: when I was a lad, there was a drama on ITV called Enemy At The Door. It was about the German occupation of Guernsey and was ITV's response to the BBC's Secret Army. Only - much to the dismay of Guernsey dwellers - the outside shots were filmed at its bigger neighbour, Jersey 🙄 What next? Guernsey's local news filmed in Shetland?
Ha. Years ago I wrote a script for a spoof Bergerac series set on the Isle of Wight. It got quite far down the line but nothing got made. One of the execs said to me 'Would we be able to film it on the mainland UK to cut costs'.
Aah, the conclusion to the Guernsey walk. Always feel a bit sad 😪when there's a conclusion to anything really. And your sketches and piano forte at the end make me giggle and are excellent 👍Parts of the walk reminded me of other places, whose names escape me, but look like bits of Galway or Cornwall with rocky outcrops and fogous and fairies. Psychedelic Sunglasses Marek looked way out there man with his cherry gummies pretending to be pineapple flavour 🤪I used to like a Pineapple Mivvi myself back in the day, but I digress....The only encounter I've had with CBD is in the form of a very expensive cream for aches and pains, which did absolutely nothing for me, but cost an arm and a leg so I won't be partaking of any gummies any time soon! Looking forward to the next walking adventure Marek! Will be doing a bit of walking myself soon (or hobbling in my case) on IOW in 2 weeks time! x J x
I am so pleased you are coming to the island. I hope you have a fantastic time. You might see me walking around as I am planning to do bits of it for a walk soon.
@@cdwc Oh well, if you are doing a stroll along Ryde Seafront on the Sunday taking photos of all the old vintage cars I will give you a wave! They usually have my dad's old Austin something or another there which the owner lets me sit in and be nostalgic for a short while! 🚙🙂
Guernsey Toms ( Guernsey tomato) two days before the island’s invasion and occupation by the German Army, trucks loaded with tomatoes at the harbour for export to the British mainland were mistaken for military trucks and attacked by three German bombers. 33 people were killed and 67 injured 🇬🇬
The special effects on the 'trippy' section were outstanding. Just a thought, but where is the strawberry laces icon for TH-cam members? Sort that out and I predict you will double the membership overnight. Cheers CD.
Nice one cool Dude, did your B&B owner pass around the gummies 🍍 place looks beautiful! I’m looking at a camping holiday on IOW can you recommend any sites?
Theirs a walk every year that’s called the Saffery Rotary Walk which you walk around the whole island for 1 day You start at 5am and finish when you can It’s great fun but very difficult
Five fifty for a bacon sandwich and a can of coke seemed a bit steep to me. I guessed three quid, I lucky enough to have a place near my work where I can get a bacon roll for one pound sixty five.
Looked forward to part three but sad to see the end of this fabulous walk. 1. How come you allowed sunglasses Marek to take over the last part of the video. Thanks, really enjoyable
Cool dude facts .... in the video at time frame 10:50 you will see a no 7 in a red circle on the side of the Cock and Bull pub wall these were route markings the Germans had to navigate the island during the occupation . You did well walking up that hill i tell ya , my hotel was up there past Victor Hugo's' house. Is Jersey on the cards Marek ?
The poncey, arty use of clever camerawork and music is really quite impressive and I've noticed it's getting better and better in recent vids. If I was sunglasses Marek, I'd give him a load of grief for having a massive camera to show off, but actually I reckon the lad knows what he's doing....
@@cdwc Genuinely surprised by that - I don't know about video cams but I've noticed that your little interludes have been quality. Same as John Rogers, but he definitely does use a big expensive-looking thing - so that's impressive work with a GoPro. The opposite of 'all the gear, no idea' I guess.
don't know if anyone from here )local) has mentioned the saffry walk thats ALL the coast and people do it in a day start at 4am or sooner and get into town many many hours later, that the WHOLE coastal walk. in less than 24 hours, and for those that think its easy you not seen the north to south and south to west coast thats the killer the ups down and hills and steps will do you in ,some do it as a relay team but its still a hard walk .
Being an Isle of Wight resident I can't possibly compare them both .They are both spectacular though. There are large sections of the Isle of Wight Coastal Path (Ryde to Cowes) which aren't very good and also the Guernsey Coastal Path has too much road walking at times and some very tough bits. I would say they are equal. Ha.
I'm embarrassed to say Lizzie's only work I can remember right now is when she did the celebrity version of Storage Hunters teamed up with Jenny Eclair

I explored Castle Cornet on my next day. It was wonderful. I pretty much had the whole place to myself. It is great they let her fire the midday gun.
Thanks for the zine Marek a fantastic piece of work.
Nice one Colin. Glad you liked it.
ah...to live by the sea... Thanks for another lovely walk, Marek!
Great walk Marek and I see what you mean about the dog with the appendage on his back. Enjoyed the book. It made a great accompaniment to the walk
I am glad you appreciated it. I think there are a few things in the book to spot in the videos, like the grump basket maker.
@@cdwc we both enjoyed the book. I new Jan was reading it because I heard her laughing in the other room.
I'm just about to go back to school (starts tomorrow) and moved back in with my parents but one day, I shall have time and money to travel again and Guernsey is yet another place I want to see now.

@@cdwc Thanks Marek!
It was really good to see a walk in Guernsey. What luck with the sunshiney weather
Thanks cool dude!
I was very lucky with the weather. I hope to do some more Channel Island walks someday.
Excellent stuff Cool Dudes
Nice one cool dude
Marek, looking good so far. I will properly catch up with it later. Its a bit difficult at the moment because my hubby had a stroke on Wednesday. Going to be a long ass journey home again.
I am sorry to hear your news. I hope he makes a good recovery. Best wishes.
Best wishes for you both, Karen.
The graphic dog poo sign at Ladies bay reminded me of a separate graphic poo incident I have had at the same beach! So many memories, thanks Marek!!
Maybe you were the inspiration for the sign cool dude?
Nice one cool dude
I have bad news about getting older...It doesn't get any better.
Thanks for your videos, I enjoy them a lot.
I can't believe I am going to feel even more tired.
Well done Marek - I really enjoyed the series and the zine.
Thanks cool dude.
Guernsey certainly looks a lovely place, with some very nice places to see whilst walking.
It is a beautiful place cool dude.
Cool video, Cool dude !
Absolutely brilliant video - haven't laughed that much in a youtube video for a long time - thanks for that.
Nice one Andy. Thank you
More psychedelic portions on future walks Marek!
That is down to sunglasses Marek really.
Thanks so much for inspiring me to explore more of this beautiful island. Such a beautiful video. right im off for a gummy x
Thanks to you and Dickback x
I wouldn't have handed my pineapple gummies in.
I kind of love the idea of Sunglasses Marek taking random drugs by accident a lot. The effects were great too, and I loved seeing Buster in the flesh. Legendary dog that. also your piano playing is coming along fantastically.
Buster is very cute. Meanwhile I am keeping an eye on sunglasses Marek.

Thanks cool dude. I hope you enjoy Trashed. He has another one called Kent State that I must get around to reading
Woohoo! Another video ☺️ I’ve just been rewatching the TH-cam member exclusive videos. Are we getting another Christmas video this year?
I think I might do a Q&A at some point.

*you'd do
The mediocre masterpieces are wonderful
Thanks cool dude. Will get round to doing another mediocre masterpiece at some point.
Been looking forward to this since reading the 'zine - should probably warn people about spoilers! 😁
I hope the zine just adds to the pleasure, for example only zine readers will know what to look out for when they see 'Dickback'.

Hello Cool Dude. I have never had to camp so don't know any. I think there is one in Adgestone that is supposed to be quiet nice. bit.ly/3wgOztB
Theirs a walk every year that’s called the Saffery Rotary Walk which you walk around the whole island for 1 day

A few people have mentioned that. It sounds horrific. I walked across the Isle of Wight once in a day and the was 27.5 miles and exhausting.
Five fifty for a bacon sandwich and a can of coke seemed a bit steep to me. I guessed three quid, I lucky enough to have a place near my work where I can get a bacon roll for one pound sixty five.

The GoPro Hero 10 shot in 4k Standard Mode Cool Dude.

I am about eleven books behind. I post pictures of everything I read on my instagram. Currently very much enjoying William Goldman's Marathon Man.
My mum would never survive the roundabout
I gave you a thumbs up before I saw the smug strawberry laces eating towards the end of this video. Disappointed in myself.
