I am from guernsey and a few yrs ago at castle cornet you used to be able to book out the museum and on the top foot there is a huge room where a huge group can stay and we used to stay overnight I was amazing roaming around at night it’s spooky and so fun but sadly the stopped doing it now coz one of the people left but it’s amazing ❤❤😂
I'm a teenager, lived here since I was born. If you come again, I recommend either doing an island rib voyage (you go around and see all of the islands) or go for a beach day at the North of the island.
I’ve lived here all of my 52 years and would like to thank you for such a positive review. Difficult to do in one day but has so many gems. Keep up the good work
Harriet and I have been to Guernsey. What a hidden gem. We have some in-laws that live in Cambridge . They took us there on a tour. We had a great time. I think it was the beer and ice cream we loved the most. It looks and sounds like you guys had a great time there. Thank you for a lovely video. You guys' rock. Sending you much love😍😍😍 Harriet, Jim and Yuki. Richmond, Va.
Do go to Castle Cornet if you visit Guernsey again. Guided tours are optional. You are free to explore the castle and its multiple museums at your own pace. The entrance fee covers everything.
Beautiful Guernsey, one of my favourite places on earth! We used to go there for family holidays when I was in my teens, the middle two weeks of the school summer holidays every year. Such happy memories. But I've been back there countless times since, I've even been there a couple of times for work. Shame you didn't see any of the beautiful beaches, and didn't have time to hop across to the stunning island of Herm, but glad you enjoyed your visit! 😊
Here I am im watching now your beautiful adventure so awesome thank you for sharing with us so stunning adventure wow im so enjoy watching your so very lucky you got bless you got nice adventure as always take care guy’s and always be safe 👍👍👍🥰🥰🥰👏👏👏
Nice visit to St Peter Port. My London based office sent me to Guernsey back in May 1988 to work there for the month. Great opportunity to get to see the island. Never heard of Guernsey gash or gosh. 🤣 Every Friday I took the 12-minute flight to Jersey which is bigger than Guernsey and feels more bustling. Dressing up for dinner isn't my thing either, but you did yourselves proud for that evening. Well done!
As someone who has lived in Guernsey basically all their life it's nice to see it from a new point of view glad you enjoyed our lovely island! Ps gâche is pronounced gosh from the Guernsey french for cake
Hello Matt and Molly. One thing that baffles me. On one of your videos. I have seen each of you taking a suit case each. Every time I see your videos. I have seen you both change your clothes a few times. So how many suit case do you have. I think you are the best dressed couple on this Universe. Take care.
Hahhaha Victor this made us laugh, so we started the cruise in Southampton which meant we had to fly back to the UK from Morocco, so we switched clothes there! We only have one suitcase! Thank you so much!
Another brilliant vlog from you two.we love watching you in your travels and showing off different countries.we are off to Krakow Friday and will be trying some places in zakopane you visited.thanks xx
My fiance are going to go on a British Isles cruise next year, so excited! Are most passengers older? Also where are most people from on these cruises? Im assuming England (we are an American couple)
Hi Great Video it's a shame you did not go to Castle Cornet the 3 hour tours you mentioned are not the only way to see Castle Cornet or the Island. if you had made it to Castle Cornets door you would have found it open to everyone at just £10.50 per adult (2022 Price) and apart from the Café and souvenirs that's it they open at 1000 hours (10AM) free tour of the grounds ay 1030 hours about 45 minuets the Noonday gun at midday 4 museums 5/6 formal gardens and about a mile of walk ways and a hell of a lot of steps to the top but the view is spectacular. As for Guernsey Gâche, Gacheor or Gosh "Guernsey Gâche" is the correct one but it is pronounced Gosh there is another one to try which is Gâche Melee an apple pudding fantastic dish. Guernsey is 24 square miles and is 7 miles by 3 miles making it 24 square miles. while you were at v=Victoria Tower I take it you saw the two big guns in the garden well they are a pair of the only 3 of their type of guns left from the first world war they survived because they were buried in front of where they snow stand in 1940 and were not recovered till about 1974/5. Do you still have your Guernsey £1 note if so get it out and look at the gentleman on it he is Daniel De Lisle Brock Bailiff of Guernsey 1762-1842 a descendent of Major General Sir Isaac Brock (A Guernseyman) Hero of Canada who died at the battle of Queenstown heights 1812 the small image beside Daniel De Lisle Brock on the £1 note is chief Tecumseh the First Nations leader of the Shawnee, Who Major General Sir Isaac Brock persuaded to join the Canadians against the Americans As you said you need to come back. Preferably for a week or more to do the island justice, if you do let me know and I would be pleased to show around you my Island Home.
@@dabbleandtravel Oh, thanks, but it'll only be a few questions. Guess I misled you into thinking it would be more. 1. If an American family were to take a trip to Guerney, how do they pay for the trip and things on the island, given that American money is different than European? 2. So both English and French people are on Guernsey? They basically speak both language there, equivalently? 3. How dangerous is it, jumping or falling into the English Channel by or from the island? I once read that falling into the ocean can crush your bone with the harsh velocity (but I'm no scientist).] 4. My story takes place in the 1980s; do you think arcade games were in Guernsey at the time they were in America? Like Mario Bros, for example.
@@benlepoidevin7047 Had to double check this, but the channel islands are geographically not part of the British Isles archipelago, but tend to be included for cultural reasons
After living in Guernsey your whole life it gets pretty lame, maybe good for a visit, but living there is a nightmare, trust me the lack of VAT means nothing when everything is more expensive and you get taxed more anyway. Everything is worse than UK other than Beaches and Guernsey milk (it's 100x better than any other milk). Also you could've headed into any local Coop or M&S and found Guernsey Gauche in the bakery, maybe next time?
I suppose its the same everywhere, the grass is not always greener on the side. We didn't get a chance to hunt, we checked on the food stalls at the street market :) thanks for watching!
Life is what you make of it. No matter where you end up in the world it has mostly the same issues and problems you will find that the grass is not usually greener just a different shade of green. you are spot on about finding Guernsey Gâche and I'm 100% behind you about Guernsey Milk I spent 24 years with only the trips home to get real milk
