I was once approached by an old man in tight shorts on the seafront at Bari, Italy, as an 18 year old inter-railer. His skin was the colour of cooked sausages. He asked me where I was from and when I said Manchester he held open his arms, puckered his lips and said, in a sad sort of voice, "Manchester kiss?" I was rather alarmed, muttered something about trains and trotted off.
! What an absolute gem of an isle Guernsey is, so unspoilt, quiet & such stunning scenery. I've been reading about Guernsey & there are rabbits there but no squirrels, foxes or moles. £4.95 is a reasonable price for a healthy baguette, unless you are like me & do your own, DIY for £2.50 (french stick & tuna mayonnaise filling). Your download is excellent, great sketches, details & facts. Very much appreciated. Have enjoyed watching parts 1 & 2, looking forward to part 3. 🐰🦊🌞
Well done marek just got my zine laughed out loud at the crisp pig and basket weaver looking forward to part three just had a funny feet ice lolly not as good as I remember when I was a nipper cheers
Thanks cool dude. I had forgotten about Funny Feet, the big strawberry ones. I suspect it was full of more E numbers when we were young so tasted much better.
Great to watch when I lived in Guernsey never saw much of the east or north coast coastline drove past a few times was most familiar with the south coast but icant wait to come back for a visit ❤
Another great video. Always love your commentary and art work :D I guessed £5 for your lunch. Pretty pleased with being so close. I'd have a strawberry cornetto. Mmmmm. Stay Cool all :)

just discovered this and loved it. I'm from Guernsey but live abroad and this made me feel nostalgic. great commentary too. looking forward to the next one as I haven't been home for 7 years. well done Marek. hmmmm...I'd have a strawberry split ( probably don't make them anymore ,,😆😆
Lovely vid. And Rum 'n Raisin ice cream is the best hot day ice-cream if available. I love islands. My favourite holiday as a kid was spent camping on Hern (I mean Herm). Special memories. At the moment I am, amazingly to me, on a bigger island in the Indian Ocean, Sri Lanka. It's wonderful. Only came because on of my sons has just married a Sri Lankan lassie near Aberdeen, and we have had a second celebration here. Feeling very lucky.
Another beautiful and inspiring film. Thanks for the zine, as well as being very beautiful its proper laugh out loud funny. Loving your walk/work. And its a Fab every time- perfect lolly.
Nice one cool dude. You and dickback make an appearance in episode three. I might edit the bit with me shouting 'Dickback' at Buster out though as it is pretty much the first thing I say. Ha.
Watching this in Cornwall before we pack up and head home. Very similar scenery. Enjoyed part one and thought Clarence Battery should be the name of a good county solicitor. Loving this one too. Shared a Feast with my teen this week, so that probably answers the ice cream q. PS cracking water colour, sir. CD #123
Ha ha. Clarence Battery is a great name for a solicitor. Feasts are excellent but any time the temperature goes above 25 I have to go for something more thirst quenching.
Coleslaw (and fries) in the sandwich is a Pittsburgh tradition - looks like you had the slaw in your sandwich. What iced cream did you have - weird stripy green thing...
Another great video Marek. I cannot recommend the Guernsey watercolours book enough as it is a very nice thing to have. As for the ice cream choice, mine would be a Calippo.
What a gorgeous place, very North Atlantic, it reminds me a lot of Newfoundland's coast. My dad also loves to stop during walks and do watercolours, I'm not into watercolours myself, colour is not my strong suit, but I do love drawing and sketching. On our last family trip, my mom and I collaborated, I did the lines and she did the colours. haha Ps- nice duck!
Collaborating on paintings is an excellent idea. I like sketching with inks too, but find myself more and more drawn to colour these days. The duck says hello.
Great walk. We were once walking on our way to stud land beach. As we came out of the path a little dog came up to us on a very long lead. Jan bent down to make a fuss. The lead started getting shorter and finally a naked old man stood next to the dog . Jan had a surprise when she looked up. Another pant less old man on the beach. Book came. Great. When are you doing one for the IOW.
Ha. Tanned old men have great body confidence. The zine took me all of July, maybe I will do an Isle of Wight one soon, but I have almost exhausted the walks.
Just ordered my Zine! I cant wait to read it hehe I love your art style. The views are incredible on this walk, I think I mentioned that in the last part. I would love to visit england one day and when I do I definitely want to see Guernsey. I'd love to go when it's really warm and swim. So beautiful.
I'm so chuffed when you goto places I've been. Been to Guernsey twice, the second time a broken arm and my father in law had a heart attack while we were there... All recovered now thankfully. But it was so nice to see the same places. And yes its very 1984 with the war time structures still in place. Fantastic stuff as ever
Beautiful scenery and love the image of the lighthouse at sunset. Would it be OK if I did a screen grab and used it as my wallpaper please? Reading the comments about your Zine, I can't wait for my copy to be sent. Thank you and already looking forward to the final part.
I'm glad this part of the walk was a bit more straight forward. I thought that coleslaw with pulled pork was an interesting choice. I would have opted for gravy but I imagine you've been put off gravy for a while now. 😏 It's got to be a mini milk for me or a Mr Snow which is similar.
First off let me say Yipee coz my zine came along with a little personal note which was a thoughtful touch! So ta very much, it was superb...Secondly Guernsey just gets better with each vid. As for tanned and wrinkly old men I'd rather not think about them thank you all the same, but I loved your drawings of them! And it's got to be a FAB mate..(aka Smashey and Nicey) or probably a Feast (had to ask my husband what it was called as I call it a Nobbly Bobbly...hmmm....back to wrinkly old tanned men again, shudder.....). I see someone is asking for a zine of the IOW. Ace idea Marek! Get painting immediately and reserve me a copy! Look forward to Part 3 of the Guernsey walk...x J x
Nobbly Bobblys are delicious. I remember when they first came out. I also like the Zoom. I am so glad you liked the zine. Stay cool. I will think about an Isle of Wight one
Sadly I did not have enough time this trip, as was only there for four days because of my budget. On the fourth day I explored St. Peter Port. I hope to come back and walk on Sark and Herm.
Hello Cool Dude. It is listed right at the bottom of the walking gear page. It is the lightest stuff I could find. I also bring a collapsible cup (one of the sea to summit ones - also listed) to pour some water in. cooldudeswalkingclub.com/my-walking-gear/
Another impressive day in Guernsey. Does everyone speak English and does it feel quite English or quite continental? That ice cream question is excellent and very hard to answer. I'm shuffling a few through my head..hmm.. I may say an orange dreamsicle or split as you say here. Any fruit flavor on the outside with cream on the inside works for me. Lastly, I very much am liking your animations at the moment. You have found a new aesthetic which I think is working very well!
Yes everyone speaks English cool dude, but the road names are all French. It sort of feels 85% English and 15% French. The drawings are pretty much the same cool dude. I am just not using outlines. Nice one.
I am also a big fan of Feasts. I used to try and eat it keeping the chocolate centre in tact for as long as possible. Enjoying the camping videos cool dude.
The ice cream is called a Twister. I was trying to think of how to describe it, but just copied and pasted the Wikipedia page instead: The Twister is an ice cream lollipop on a stick, launched in 1982 and made by Unilever's Heart brand. It is pineapple ice cream and pear flavoured fruit ice on the outside and strawberry fruit ice on the inside and is shaped in a spiral.
A white Magnum for me please. Zine arrived yesterday thanks - I was glad to receive a 1st edition which has already risen in value by £7,999,996 but in retrospect I maybe should have asked you to sign it too... Nice one cool dude!
A white Magnum is an interesting hot day choice. I have to veer away from ice cream on a hot day usually and stick to lollilops. Although I think a Twister is half and half. Thanks for getting the zine cool dude.
I forgot about those Dracula lollies. I don't think I ever had one. I just googled them and they were brought back put without the Dracula shape. Philistines!
Cool video. You had great weather for it! I’d choose a Calippo so I wouldn’t get in a mess as it melts. You’re keyboard playing is improving. When are you going to start taking song requests?
My keyboard playing is definitely getting worse. I can't do requests I am afraid, I can only play classical stuff in case modern requests set off the youtube music copyright. Saying that my attempts would sound nothing like the originals.
Hmm, normally after a long walk what I really want is an ice-cold can of Coke and a packet of fancy crisps (kettle chips or the like), but if only ice cream was available I'd probably go for a Mr Whippy with a flake. Perhaps those over-tanned men are actually Mermaids, hiding their true form during the daytime to avoid being captured and forced to work the children's party circuit.
I like rocket lollies for cheap thrills but I like to make homemade ice cream for when friends visit. Excellent value for the pulled pork - my guess was £12.
The pulled pork sandwich was incredible value. It was the offer of the day, but there was so much pork in it they must have lost money. One of my favourite lollies was a rocket style lolly called a Zoom. Blackcurrant, banana then strawberry. Mmmmmm
My ice cream of the day here in Finland would be Classic kermatoffee. So good. Or then Magnum double caramel.
I think I might come to Finland just to try that ice cream, it sounds delicious.
I was once approached by an old man in tight shorts on the seafront at Bari, Italy, as an 18 year old inter-railer. His skin was the colour of cooked sausages. He asked me where I was from and when I said Manchester he held open his arms, puckered his lips and said, in a sad sort of voice, "Manchester kiss?" Ha ha. I always wonder how many days they have to spend on the beach to be permanently brown and where do they go in the winter?
Thanks. Nice myth book. 😁🥰
It is such an incredible book. Thank you.
Good morning. I bought two copies of the zine. I loved the ecopy
Thank you. They are in the post. Fingers crossed they arrive safe.

Thanks cool dude. Those are excellent Guernsey facts. Unfortunately I didn't see any rabbits, I did see the beautiful Guernsey cow though.
Peggy would eat a Mint feast ice cream, I'd have a FAB ice cream! Stay safe, stay Retro 🙏
You don't see many Mint feasts around these days.
Cannot believe you’re eating my favourite lolly. Bought a box of those the other day. 👍
Twisters are delicious. I am sure that they've got smaller than I remember though.
Great to see part 2 - got my 'zine in the post - really enjoyable read and nice paintings too. Thanks, Marek!
Excellent. Glad it got there. Thanks for your support cool dude.
Solerooooo! Man this walk looks rad, better than all the stairs day one. Amazing scenery
Another great vid, just a note because all the guernsey pronunciations are up the creek, the lighthouse is pronounced Han-wah
Apologies. I think I managed to pronounce every single place wrong. At least I was consistent. Ha.
Nice walk, I use to date a lass from Guernsey when in the Army, so nice to see Guernsey once again and some of the places I have been to
Hope it brought back some good memories cool dude.

Great video Marek thanks!
Thanks cool dude.
My favourite ice cream right now is to crumble up a single LU Petit Beurre biscuit into vanilla and stick it in a cone. Delicious.
This sounds like the work of a connoisseur.
Great to watch when I lived in Guernsey never saw much of the east or north coast coastline drove past a few times was most familiar with the south coast but icant wait to come back for a visit ❤
Another great video. Always love your commentary and art work :D
I guessed £5 for your lunch. Pretty pleased with being so close.
I'd have a strawberry cornetto. Mmmmm.
Stay Cool all :)
Excellent guessing cool dude #2. I have been buying Tesco's strawberry cornettos and they are delicious.
Nice one cool dude! I do like the fab ice cream a classic one
Fab ice creams still seem very popular in the comments cool dude.
Absolutely delightful. Love my zine, your art is so good.
Excellent. Thank you so much for getting a copy.
I have been fighting the heatwave with Del Monte's real lemonade lollies, but anything lemony would do. Oh, thanks for signing my Guernsey zine. The zine looks fantastic.
The man from Del Monte has been making lemonade lollies!?! I will look out for these next time I am in Tescos.
P.S. Thank you for buying the zine.
Lovely video. Just received zine and t-shirt. Many Thanks
Nice one. Glad they got there cool dude.
Your Twister ice-cream looked pretty damn good! Wonderful video, makes me want to visit the Isle.
Definitely worth a visit cool dude.
Lovely job
Thanks Tim

You can't beat a Strawberry Split, or Strawberry Mivvi. I still don't know what Mivvi means. So glad you have enjoyed the videos cool dude.

@@cdwc No. But quite a nice vanilla with little pieces of dried fruit and nuts.

Local Guern here. Great job showing our beautiful coastlines Marek. Wish I'd have seen you on your stroll! Lihou is pronounced Lee-ooo by the way 👍🏻

Jan’s just got back from Cambridge. Loads of walks there.
your drawing of the old guy on the beach with the changing background object really reminded me of the comic strip in the latest fortean times
Cool man. I don't buy that magazine, but I assume it is a masterpiece of artwork.

I love a good frosty Calippo ice lolly, that’s a real thirst quencher on a hot day, love the “zine” btw hope to get more in the future!
I agree Calippos are the best thirst quencher. Someone put me off them a bit by calling them dog's lipsticks. Ha.
I'm glad this part of the walk was a bit more straight forward.
I thought that coleslaw with pulled pork was an interesting choice. I would have opted for gravy but I imagine you've been put off gravy for a while now. 😏

It was definitely too hot for gravy that day. I have not had a Mini Milk in years. I hope they still have the same wrapper with the cow on.
Fantastic video ...as always!!

Nice one cool dude. It is because of the people that support me on TH-cam that I was able to make it, so thank you very much my friend.
Such a lovely views cool dude
Yes it is like a film set. Especially with the German towers.
Solero Ice cream or the Cider flavoured ones from the ice cream van
