Swifties are crazy, and i say that affectionately as one😂 some identify with taylor so when they come at you aggressively they are defending themselves and their experiences because when people don't interpret the art the same way, they feel invalidated. I’ve been watching you guys for a few months now and I think yall are doing great! Swifties can be a bit intense sometimes. Most reactors don’t even TRY to analyze the song. They just smile and dance and do whatever to appease the fans. Which gets on my nerves. Yall are authentic and it shows.
Swiftness as a whole are great. There is a small contingency which have not outgrown knee jerk defensiveness, that still see the world as winners and losers like Taylor vs Someone else. I got curious and looked it up: It may surprise you to know there is no technical difference between lakes and ponds, according to the National Park Service(Opens in a new window). However, a general rule of a thumb is if a body of water is large and deep it's a lake and if it's short and shallow it's a pond.

When you guys brought up wondering if it had another meaning it made me think of the first time I heard this and how the first part made me think of someone with a drug problem. Like you’re partying and having fun doing some drug perhaps in beautiful rooms and ends up in parking lots buying and lying to friends about what you’re doing
Also “you showed me colors I can’t see with anyone else” and “for you I would ruin myself a million little times” I myself have struggled with drinking and it reminds me of the relationship with alcohol and how it starts fun and gets bad for certain people

I am under the impression that The Long Pond refers to her being on the opposite side of the pond from the musicians. Like Bon Iver was in Europe but she was in US. Like “across the pond.”

Also saw you did Taylor’s vault track Haunted from Speak Now and wanted to suggest Castles Crumbling. It’s the best vault track on the album. The album version is good but there’s also a live performance of her and Hayley Williams, of Paramore, who’s featured on the song, singing it live at the Eras Tour in London about a month ago
The vault tracks are songs that didn’t make the original album but when she re-recorded her album Taylor’s Version she added some of the vault tracks to each re-recorded album.
Also you did so many great folklore songs but not Cardigan which is definitely top 3 on that album.

as a swiftie it just really bothers me when people say all taylor writes about is breakups because that's not true at all! that's why with songs like this & my tears ricochet i like to point out that when taylor wrote these songs she was thinking about her old record label not a breakup! you can definitely interpret them as so, but from taylor's pov their not. of course taylor has breakup albums, but folklore is not one of them!

What happened? I’m so lost.
So it’s my understanding that this is a fictional song. However, it’s kinda been proven that some songs from folklore and evermore are either true to her life or partly true- and fans came to that conclusion from tracks from midnights and even the TPD. I don’t know if your reacted to Renegade by Taylor and the Big Red Machine- but when that song came out we thought it was fictional- but when Taylor released hits different and you’re losing me- fans put together that Renegade is most likely about her ex Joe. And after listening to it now with what I know now, I think that song is totally about him- but she obviously didn’t make it apparent cause they were still together at the time but we know now their relationship was strained when that song was released. She has so many songs that are connected across her albums you would have to make a venn diagram lol
