Keep at it man. Good work. Had 85/86 4 runners for a long time. Great Yotas. Now piloting a 95 Cruiser. Still got my solid axels. Toyotas are better than trains! Also tis the season to Fluid Film and for undercoating.
as another 1985 4Runner owner (20 years now), I'm looking forward to your new project. this one is great too, because I have 2 rwd trucks as well (85 and 88)
@6thGearGarage Around 5:17 when you play around the gas tank, let say I need to cut a little rust spot and weld a new metal plate on the frame and need to remove tank.... While I am there I want to clean the fuel tank. I already have the fuel pump "sock" filter in my cart but if I do open up the tank, would I need anything else ?
I Also have other questions for ya; At 0:40 when you re-install the fuel tank I was wondering, wouldn't it have been a good time to clean the inside of the tank ? Also; Can't remember where exactly but I swear I've seen you replace the rubber fuel injection line on top of tank/fuel pump.... What size are the lines? (I believe they are all the same size, right?) Amazing channel by the way !

The fuel tank was surprisingly clean. As for the lines, they are 1/4” ID. If you’re buying a lot, skip the parts store and save money buying an entire roll. Lmk, I can dig up the link for where I got mine.
@6thGearGarage Yes please! There's a soft spot on my truck frame so the tank will need to come out. While I am at it I was planning on changing the fuel pump filter sock and also changing a bunch of those rubber line at the top of the tank too !
@6thGearGarage Dude, what a legend. I'm planning on replacing my stock H4 headlights with Hella Glass housing and LED lights. What would you suggest so it doesn't screw my highbeam indicator? What do you run ?
W56c with transfer case will fit without cutting the cross member? Cuz I’m swapping the auto now and I wanna drive it with the torsion bar before installing the axles. The transmission originally (a43d).
It can be converted, but I want to keep it 2wd since I already have a 4wd. I would need trans/transfer, mount, header, driveshafts, complete axles, leafs, hangers, shackles, wheels/tires, shocks, steering box & all steering components... probably a few things I'm forgetting too.

awsesome work man.. would love to take the cab n bed off my 89 pickup to do its frame.. no way id mess with a vehicle disassembly lol
Yeah, it's definitely more work than I thought it would be!

You're doing a bang up job! Good that u Fluid Filmed the inside of frame! Yep, Holidays are coming up, you need to enjoy. 👍
Looking good and moving right along seeing how much there is to do....Look forward to the 4runner
I just wanted to take a moment to say your editing and voice work is top notch! Keep it coming
Thanks!!
So impressive
It looks like next year will be a busy one.
More great content🤩
Great video 📹 just saying from up north UK 🇬🇧👍
Your frame is looking great. A rust spot tends to be around the fuel tank area. Mud and debris accumulate over time rusting the frame.
Yessir, I've seen that on most of the Yotas I've owned.
Love it so much, always look forward to all these videos, thanks!
I would be interested in seeing you try using the PB blaster surface shield
I've heard a lot about it, but still have a couple gallons of fluid film to go through.
Congratulations
thanks!

There's a rubber gasket under the lid that screws down, but it is usually re-usable.

Awesome 👍

I don't have one to test fit on this frame, but I'm sure that 'd have to modify the crossmember just based on the length difference alone.
Can you drive without torsion bar? Can you delete it?
To delete the torsion bars, I would have to convert to a coilover setup, currently not in the budget.
Can you convert it to 4wd ? And what parts you will need to do it?
It can be converted, but I want to keep it 2wd since I already have a 4wd. I would need trans/transfer, mount, header, driveshafts, complete axles, leafs, hangers, shackles, wheels/tires, shocks, steering box & all steering components... probably a few things I'm forgetting too.

Hey what transmission will you stick in that 4Runner ? W 56 E ?
It's an auto now, but I'm thinking about converting to manual with a W56 I've been sitting on.
@@6thGearGarage Good call. I have an auto in the 86 turbo truck.... still debating on swappin !
