    Firing it up is such a nice feeling. Even though I didn’t do the work to get it to this point, when you connected the fuel line and cranked the engine I was grinning from ear to ear!😆

    That Toyota buzzer brings back some memories! Oh the good ol days of replacing the front shocks that easily!! Now I have to put my life in danger with those coil overs 😂. Great video! Love the Toyota content.

      Yeah it sure does. That is with all new mounts too. It might be running rough from sitting 18 or so months. Carb could be a little gunked up.

      @@6thGearGarage This is great. I got to see one of these awhile back this is exactly how it sounds once it had fired a few times. His was super restored too he had factory style coatings on his brake booster etc. just to give an example of how meticulous it was. Can't wait to test fire and drop mine in.

    Sounds like the engine is idling at about 5-600 rpm instead of about 850-975 rpm. Looks good. And it brings back memories of my '81 Toyota 4x4. 7 inches of lift on 36" military oz tires. Running the stock engine 5spd trans and axles. 5 gear was only good to use in 4low. I slowed down on the highway when I shifted to 5th 😂

    Hey can you start making post longer than a few minutes. Me personally I like longer posts cause short ones as soon as you start it's over. I know some will be short but that would be nice if they were farther apart. Sorry for being that guy!

      All the footage was over 20 mins long but I cut out the slow/boring parts and speed up other parts. I try to make it action packed from start to finish so people keep watching. When I have the chance for a long video, I will 👍👍

      Sure, I'll be glad to try to help. I don't have a ton of experience with these carbs either though. My truck has a weber 32/36 carb.

    I'm working on a 1991 Mitsubishi Lancer in Portugal. Thankfully, it is not half of the job you have there, but I'd love to have a repair manual like you have for your Toyota. Do you know where am I likely to find a reliable source for them manuals?

    Throw some timing into that puppy....Im guessing thats a 32 36 Weber....I run a 38mm and found that you cant get the idle mixture right with out some more timing....Wont idle with 1/2 turn in on idle screw with out more timing and end up setting the idle screw to many turns in to get a good idle then mixture screws are worthless cause the throttle plates are to far open....Next video is the drive!!
    I run 142mains, 185air, 50idle at sea level...but the 32 26 is different jetting

    • @6thGearGarage
      @6thGearGarage  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah it is a 32/36. It used to run perfect before I parked the truck to work on it. That was about 1.5 Yr ago. Carb could probably use a cleaning.

      @@6thGearGarage check that fuel pressure, 2 to 3 psi and float level is critical....see you have a weber regulator. Dont know about 20R carbs but the 32/36 is 5 CFM under the OEM 22R carbs....Trick to tuning idle is keeping the throttle plates almost closed and a AFR gauge for the jetting....32/36 uses 1 idle jet on the primary for idle/progression, the other is for progression of the secondary....38 uses both for idle and progression...What may seems lean on a weber is usually rich, at least thats what Ive found...Mine, LCE stage 2 stroker, 22R bored, stroked, .50 lift cam double valve springs, chromoly light weight rods, forged pistons....LCE dyno test 159HP @ 5600 173LBS @3900....Good but would be better in a Celica then a 4x4...Next is a 4.3 Chevy V6...Burn outs soon????

    That engine is not good man. It vibrates quite a lot. You need to take a look to that.

    • @6thGearGarage
      @6thGearGarage  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      It’s idling lower/rougher than it used to. Sitting for 18 months might have gunked up the carb, could need a good cleaning.

    • @6thGearGarage
      @6thGearGarage  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      All the motor mounts are new.

    • @greasyHands66
      @greasyHands66 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Double check everything man, that amount of vibration is not normal.
      I'd check the compression for each cylinder first and then the carburettor if the compression is more or less even.

      The blue and white trucks were both at the end of their life. Had some videos comparing both last year. I decided to make one truck from 2 bad ones. Eventually this one will get bodywork and paint.

    7:30 so you can actually get safe from railroad crossing with a starter then, if you stump it! Have to test this in my Japan made 1990 Hilux, I bet it starts even with a gear in!
