Thank you Paddy for the great weekend showing you around in my hood!! If anyone wants to see videos on thai language learning, thai media etc, I'll upload stuff on my channel and IG in the near future! :)
I was surprised when Pui said she came to Germany 37 years ago......I was thinking she was around 30.... Gotta admire Dorothea for falling in love with Thailand. Good for her :)
This is unbelievable. I went to the exact same restaurant last year in Köln and spoke Thai with the staff because I was inspired by your videos to learn Thai. To think that you went to the exact same place as I did is insane ไม่มีขนมไทย
Awesome stuff idc....great to see the actual spelling of "Köln" too....i did not know that but it looks way cooler than the English spelling :) @เมืองโคโลญ
These videos are gasoline for my Thai language learning motivation! What a great conversation/interaction with the Thai couple at that restaurant. They probably smiled about that interaction all day or beyond!
@@ThaiTalkwithPaddy and next time to Stuttgart in the south. We do have a couple of really good Thai restaurants, one even serving lots of authentic Isaan dishes 😋😍😋
I miss Thailand. I cooked a few Thai dishes such as Thai Green Curry, Thai Red Curry, Mango Sticky Rice, Phat Thai, Phat Kapraow Tom Kha, etc... I plan to travel there again.
That was an awesome video. Thank you for showing us Germany. Somtum and gaprow moo grob, perfect. You are a man after my own heart for ordering those dishes. Keep up the good work.❤
Was just in Germany Xmas time....such a cool place. ran into a few Thai tourists and was travelling with Thai friends. Czech Republic also....totally amazing! BEEEEEERRRRRRRRRR :)
This is so nice to see! Wouldn't expect you to be close to Switzerland haha. We have plenty of authentic Thai restaurants here, but maybe that's a trip for another time.
I'm literally watching this video from Chaiyaphum. Super funny this guy at the first restaurant mentioned that he is from there. Visiting my girlfriends familiy here.
The very tall man from Chaiyapoom should apply for the Thai national basketball team. My brother in law comes from Isaan as well. He works on farm in Israel since 6 years without home visits ...

Thanks Paddy. Communication is the key :) By the way there is a very famous chocolat museum at the river. Climb the top of the big cathedral church, nice view
Omg flashback when our flying Kangaroo used to fly to Frankfurt and as an ex cabin crew we were fortunate to travel the world and that iconic Cologne Church we took the train along the Rhine River from our hotel in Mainz is absolutely gob smack ❤ Cheers Nong Paddy from Pat Sydney/ Bkk 🎉
Do you ever plan to visit Khon Kaen (in the north east of Thailand) to see how the everyday people live? I've been living here for the last 2 years with my Thai wife and really enjoy the quiet life here.
In Khon Kaen, I think the foreigner that Thai people know the most is Mr. Martin Wheeler of Ban Kham Pla Lai. He lives his life in a way that is most in tune with the way of life of the people of the northeast of Thailand.
Hello Paddy …I’m French guy and living in Copenhague and married with Thai woman.. I saw you are in Germany so if are you coming in Danemark and if you are in Copenhague let me know and we can meet for one beer 🍻..

@@ThaiTalkwithPaddy ... walk arround the couple of the Dom on top. The Zoo is the biggest in Europe 1200 different animals, need to see the royal palasts in Potsdam! Ferry from Spandau is going down there along river Havel. Boattour from Schloß Charlottenburg very interesting trough the governmnt area in east Berlin. Try arabian grilled chicken with glowing coal RISA at the Zoo station or the 5 other Risa restaurants. It's unbelievable delicious. Best Döner Kebab IMREN with a red I . pur beef, superb. Enjoy
The more astonishing thing is the millions and millions of non causasian people who are multilingual. Nobody ever goes waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa look they speak my language. Why is it always the great white explorer who makes these oh look how amazing I am videos and everybody goes ooooo how amazing.
Haha, don't worry! It's just the English version of my name and I respond to both. It's normal to slip into saying the accustomed versions of names from where you come from. No hard feelings, haha!
There are scores of words that can be spelled with either กะ- or กระ- at the beginning (usually transliterated as "ka" or "kra" even though it's closer to an English "g" sound), but "kaproa" ain't one of them! Let this be known throughout the world: The word "krapao" does not exist in the Thai language!!! 🤣 The correct word is "gaproa" (กะเพรา). Lest you think I'm making fun of Paddy, let me point out that even native speakers of Thai get it wrong. I've seen the subject of the correct pronunciation come up on Thai quiz shows, so you can't fault him. But now that he knows, I hope he uses his influence to teach foreigners how to say it correctly. The way some of these TH-camrs mangle the name of the dish really grates on the ears. 😫
@@RECURSIVE_MEMORY_LOGIC I'm not sure what your point is. If you are saying people get confused about "gaproa" because there are similar sounding/looking words that start with "gra" then I agree. As I wrote, many words are spelled with either "ga" or "gra". The example you gave is one of them: กระเป๋า or กะเป๋า A few more examples: กระพัง, กะพัง = a small pond กระพัน, กะพัน = invulnerable กระเพิง, กะเพิง = projecting roof กระเพาะ, กะเพาะ bladder, stomach But there is only one form for กะเพรา. The words "กระเพา" or "กระเพรา" do not exist in the Thai language.
