    Thank you, I really appreciate the tutorial on how to differentiate machines. I'm just in the process of looking for a printer cutter and was originally looking at Roland but I think I may be going with a Mimaki if they have a distributor closer.

    Amazing presentation. Do these ink have high scent? Do you have any special air filtration system at your studio?

      I'm sorry mate. As I've left the project, I had no time on working on this. It is a shame as I've invited an anctual Mimaki engineer who part-made this model to help me out.

    Hey great video I have Bought a new print head and have some problems with the system parameter - can you help me with this problem?

    • @GDS-LTD
      @GDS-LTD  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you.
      I'm afraid installing the printhed yourself would be one of the most dificult tasks on these machines.
      Not only it it has to be set-up orrectly, it has to be positioned very pricecely or you risk damaging the printhead on your very first run. These type of things, cannot be explained in a comment or over the phone etc it has to be shown and experienced first hand.

    How long would you say the learning curve was for you when you started with this Mimaki? Or a Mimaki in general?

    • @GDS-LTD
      @GDS-LTD  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well, I'm a bad example. Being an IT engineer, I more or less understood the whole concept. It is a printer just bigger. That being said. The core basics, about a week. Fine-tuning, still learning, there is always something.

    • @OffTheTrailEasyMeals

      I am just beginning with a printer cutter, but I have been working on a plotter for almost 2 years now. I just only want to buy once! Ya know? But I want to prepare for the future, as well. I was trying to decide between a Roland BN20A and a Mimaki CJV150-75. Also, thank you for teaching me so much!

    • @GDS-LTD
      @GDS-LTD  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@OffTheTrailEasyMeals I'd not touch BN20 with a 10 ft pole, but it is just me. CJV150 should be a solid machine to do it all. 75 is also the smallest they do and should be plenty for canvas, stickers and even some banners.

      @@GDS-LTD ive heard the prints can crack or is that nonsense as long as you use the right inks ie flexi?

    • @GDS-LTD
      @GDS-LTD  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ginod2279 The only thing I know called "flexi" is software, FlexiSign. As far as the UV vs Solvent inks, they(UV inks) technically are a bit less stretchy, but I've yet to hear a problem with that. The only thing that comes to my mind when I hear cracks is wrong profile, oversaturation. And even that in the extreme cases. That is if we do not speak of unverified 3rd party inks of either technology, then sure, anything is possible.

    Do you need to have ink in all eight cartridges or can you have ink in just four cartrideges ?

    • @GDS-LTD
      @GDS-LTD  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      In the x2 CMYK configuration, the machine pulls ink from only 4 cartridges at a time. It depends on the chip, what cartredge is selected, every time. The point of having 8 slots populated, even with 4 blanks, is to prevent air from getting int othe system and so on.
