    November 2018.... ! This video saved our bacon. We are a Mom-Pop Shop in Middle Tennessee. I must have watched this a half dozen times before I got up the nerve to do it. Your video gave me the strength!!! It worked beautifully! Thank you!

    Thanks for posting. Showcasing the finer points of maintenance with these machines is a great help to small operators or new operators without the experience of others to fall back on.

    Excellent video, thankyou for taking the time to share. I now know way more about how large format printers work than i did before. I didn't even know what a damper was! Swapping the lines to check the head was a great idea, you owe your buddy a few beers. Thanks again.

    Omg your fix work for us.. cyan was missing completely.. we did a flush from head with syringe problems solve.. save us big... the ink fill up is a game changer..❤

    Many thanks for the video. We had exactly the same problem and your tutorial helped us trouble-shoot the problem. As it turns out it was a faulty damper, switched out with a new one and we're up and running again.

    dude , serriously, thank you! im 2 months into starting my business and already having doubts over my 2nd hand purchase and then this happened. i was sure id damaged my print head and would need another which would have seriously set me back quite a few months .
    my background is in flexographic printing so i wasnt keen on playing around like this with self repairs but after your video i decided it was worth a shot .
    all the best to you.

    Great video, man. Taking delivery of a JV33-160 with some K dropout in both channels later this week. I got it for a song ($900).
    Glad to see the head/damper clearing procedure is very similar to my pigment Epsons that like to gum up occasionally, reassures me that I can get her up and running when I get her into the shop.
    For those of you out there that appreciate and take pride in maintaining your own digital printing equipment, this video is gold.

    I ran a small 2 man print shop with my dad for over 20 years and been running my own one man sign shop now for 13 years and I at one time was running and fixing an HP and an Epson wide format but I got tired of having ink all over myself all the time! lol. I have since been subbing my printing out to a wholesaler but am looking for a mutoh to get back in. I miss it now. THanks for the video.

    I had same problem when moving a JV33 on my pickup, went through the same procedure except I pulled ink through the damper with a syringe, most problems like this is air in the lines, fill & cleans maybe several times will fix the missing nozzles. Good job man I too am a one man band & have always tried to do own maintenance & repairs, get to know your older machine to save dough, option is buy a printer with 5 year warranty saves much grief.

    Thanks for posting this video - it saved my sanity when my Mimaki JV33-130 had issues with both a magenta and a cyan not printing at all. My problem was at the head, so with a little flushing at the damper/head connection, the issue was solved and the print head is as good as new and printing better than ever!
    Thanks again!

      what u did , have the same problem , been fighting with magenta and cyan missing , please reply

    • @denmark415
      @denmark415 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You have to flush the head from the top with cleaning fluid. Take the cover off the head, remove the magenta and cyan dampers that aren't printing and flush cleaning fluid through the top with one of those plastic syringes (make sure you don't push any air through and that there is a good set between the syringe and the knobby thing where the damper attaches). Keep flushing fluid through until it runs clear - make sure to put a cloth under the head to catch the fluid. Reattach the dampers, do a soft clean and run a couple of fill ups from the control panel.@@megabannerdeensenadasadecv8493

    Yo Yo Mr Szabo! Great Video! Thanks! Rather than pushing cleaning solution thru head, try back flushing. Move carriage left to print head cleaning area. Fill a plastic tray filled w Cleaning solution & prop it up so the nozzles in print head are submerged in solution. Remove damper from problem channel. Attached a syringe w tube to manifold nipple which the damper was on. Draw Solution back thru print head. This will remove debris that may be floating & clogging nozzles. Plunging forward and back also helps to remove dried ink.

    • @chenangocreativelabs

      +1 on the backflushing. Pushing fluid down into the jets can potentially push solids deeper into the head channels.

    Thanks for the video it reall helped a bit - hope this helps:
    I had two lost colour channels of the eight in the head so i cleaned everything, soaked head, changed dampers primed them till full (which isn't necessary) then changed head (expensive) fitted new caps, swapped all circuit boards with another machine, changed head ribbon cables for new, isolated/opened cut off valves and loads more - nothing worked! Finally changed ribbon cables to MCB (looks quite difficult but is fairly easy to do if your careful and very cheap) and everything worked again! - Hope this helps somebody before they blow out the seals in an expensive head

    При промывке канала Cyan сольвентом, явно видно что у головы идет перетекание между каналами. Я увидел что льет и с синего и с желтого.
    У чела не было синего, после промывки он появился, но сразу но тут же пропала Magenta, которая до этого работала (находится с краю головы).
    Тут на лицо отвал подошвы, голова по сути под замену.

    WOW! awesome Video. Thank You for sharing! I am so glad you shared this video! Yours is by far the best videos on this subject! What if none of these methods would have worked, if lines were clogged? any suggestions or videos you recommend?

    • @SzabosArcades
      @SzabosArcades  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks glad you enjoyed it. Next steps are change your pump that can cause not enough ink to come through line. Change all your dampers. Flush the line out that is the problem color from the cartridge make sure there is no clog there. One of those should do the trick. Also replace capping station. If you don't have a good deal it will never work right. Don't buy from a dealer way to expensive. Ebay or other source.

    Great Video. May I ask advice after doing all the steps, Although I have a UJV 100 160, The Magenta stops working, although all 4 colours are on the same head. It print fine, then the very next print not firing at all, though I do see ink coming through when looking at the bottom of the head. The 2nd time now in 3months, first time theyconcluded a head fault, but all the other colours are working fine, is magenta just a problem, I heard people are having problem. But yeah. after 10 cleans, I sort of want to gve up, the only thing I did not do or dont know if I should, is cleaning with the syringe, as it does not state that in the manual nor any videos, it supposedly should automatically take out bubbles etc.. otherwise I do not know.

    Very helpful - thank you! I'm missing all yellow bars, have approx. 1/4 bar of black, 1/2 bar of majenta & 3/4 bar of cyan & I'm trying everything but so far no luck. When you are flushing, where exactly do you stick the needle to shoot cleaning solution through? Do I stick the needle right into that little black thing that sticks up & the damper clicks onto?

    • @nickwohlfarth2104
      @nickwohlfarth2104 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      JoAnne DON'T STICK NEEDLE IN ANYTHING!! Use a plastic tube & syringe. Try soaking ur print in cleaning solution a few hours. This will soften ink in clogged nozzles. Then back flush the print head with clean solution. This will pull debris out which may be covering the print nozzle.

    • @SzabosArcades
      @SzabosArcades  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Shev calame you may not be getting a seal at the capping station, or air in the line. Below the capping station you can hook a syringe where it comes out of the pump into the waste tank . Have the head on the cap like normal when machine is off. Clamp other line off and one of them try to suck ink through the head down below.

  • @keithyatcko87

    helloo,, in my jv33-160 i have the same trouble now with test drw,,,both cyan not firing,,,disapeared sudenly after couple of minits of printing today.....
    but when i swap both the majenta dampers to cyan dampers position on the head,,,then both cyan starts firing 100% in the place of majenta which means the cyan ink path is okay,,,at the same time the majenta failed to fire the position of cyan....
    STEPS I ADOPTED ARE BELOW:
    *Manually flushed the head for cyan ,, there is no blockage (its a fresh new head fixed a week before).,,
    *Did sevral hard cleaning,,,,did nozle wash for abt 30 minits.
    * Replaced the capping,,
    * Disconnected & reconnected the 2 white cables from the slider board & even from the print head.
    Can anyone help me to fix this ,,really under pressure....

    • @SzabosArcades
      @SzabosArcades  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Replace the damper, and did you flush the way I did? You will need to be 100% sure you don't have any air in line because if you do ink just won't come through. Also if your pump is weak it's not drawling strong enough. Hope that helps good luck

    • @Just_Customize

    Where did you get the syringe? And what’s the tip diameter?

      I am looking for these answers too. Did you ever find out?

      I actually used a syringe I got in a print head kit for my little epson WF-7610. It fits perfectly, but DO NOT apply too much pressure... I'm afraid I broke something as my black bleeds into the yellow now. I have those two next to each other. I've replaced the dampers and I'm afraid it might be leaking black ink instead of flowing thru the black nozzle which is either severely clogged or damaged

    At 6:30, you are flushing the head, but I'm not sure where you put the syringe. Help!

    hi , wanna say great video, could you or anyone help me with a question i have , i am using a Chinese printer called Yinghe and it uses a dx5 printhead, i bought it second hand and just like you i am a one man shop , the problem i have is that from my 8 nozzles just 4 work, it means i can only print in 8Pass mode , its been about 2 months now but i am just managing to print ( not great quality ) i still cant afford a new printhead as of now, my question is ...can i still continue to do this ....i mean can i still keep printing using just 4 dampers / nozzles .....please do let me know ...i would really appreciate it . Simon

      Tear it down and flush it out. You're throwing money away if you're not printing on all nozzles. Not only that, but the longer you ignore those clogged nozzles/dampers, the less likely it will be to recover them.
      I suggest that every digital printer get their hands dirty and get to know their machine, especially if your overhead is low and you're a one man band.

    wasting so much media when doing test print use scan then it will print next to the other one instead of on above the other
