I can't remember what movie I was in when we got a preview for Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, but me and my friends new immediately that we would have to see it when it came out. And we did. We loved it and watched it several times since (although only one kept going to the theater to see it) and now it is easily the most quoted movie among my friends. The "cleaning lady" joke is still hilarious every time. It's still my favorite movie nearly 10 years later and probably largely because it came out at the perfect time in my life and now I can just watch it any time and still enjoy every moment.
I remember not being mentally prepared when I saw this film in theaters. I know I was sober, so that made it more confusing. I do agree with James though. Kim Pine was the best character.

It's a real shame what happened to it after release. It seems like they were given almost no budget after the fact. It launched with game breaking bugs that made multiplayer a huge pain in the ass, and even with the dlc patches, these never got fixed. They did however add online co-op to the game 3 years later, but it was locked behind the second dlc pack. As you can imagine it was dead on arrival. The dlc was also pretty disappointing. Wallace is just a Steven clone, Knives is a Kim clone, and the volleyball mini game wasn't very good. I'd kill for a polished up rerelease, but its looking unlikely.
It bombed because it launched the same weekend as The Expendables. I saw it day of in theaters and most in line for tickets at the time were there for Expendables which did extremely well.

I honestly had no idea the movie bombed. A friend took me as a birthday gift opening day, the theater was packed with other fans. The over all positive energy and light hearted joking, it was truly an awesome expirience.

If you guys like Kick-Ass, check out Super. Came out at the same time with a similar premise but handles it much better imo. It's directed by James Gunn so if you like the humour of Guardians of the Galaxy you will most likely enjoy this movie as well.
So there is this theory that dark side of the moon by Pink Floyd was made to be played alongside the wizard of Oz you can see examples of this like when Dorothy is in the tornado and you could hear the screams from brain damage and Darkside of the moon. And a director of Scott Pilgrim versus the world is a big Smashing Pumpkins fan. So they think that he made the film to be played along side Mellon collie and the infinite sadness by the smashing pumpkins. You can see examples of this like when at the beginning when Scott Pilgrim and jamming out and the escalation of tonight tonight on Mellon collie. But also keep in mind this is just a theory. There are also points where it doesn’t match up. Like at the end of bullet with butterfly wings the visuals don’t match the escalation of the music. So this is just a theory but this is a theory that I believe in and I think it’s pretty interesting. Sidenote Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness by the Smashing Pumpkins is one of the best albums of all time.

I always thought the title "Scott Pillgrim VS the World" was a reference to the second Simpsons game on Nes(Bart Vs The World)
It is, only one of the novels had that title and it most likely is a reference to that because of all the retro game nods the series does.

Universal licence to Ubisoft expired. They are the ones "to blame" for the game not being available anymore. (I have it on my Xbox 360 ;)

voodoochile333 I’ve seen a lot of movies in my life and honestly, none of them have wowed me in every aspect like this movie. I wish I got around to seeing it when it came out, especially because it released a week after my 13th birthday.

Kick-Ass was my favorite movie that year until Scott Pilgrim came out
If you guys like Kick-Ass, check out Super. Came out at the same time with a similar premise but handles it much better imo. It's directed by James Gunn so if you like the humour of Guardians of the Galaxy you will most likely enjoy this movie as well.

So there is this theory that dark side of the moon by Pink Floyd was made to be played alongside the wizard of Oz you can see examples of this like when Dorothy is in the tornado and you could hear the screams from brain damage and Darkside of the moon. And a director of Scott Pilgrim versus the world is a big Smashing Pumpkins fan. So they think that he made the film to be played along side Mellon collie and the infinite sadness by the smashing pumpkins. You can see examples of this like when at the beginning when Scott Pilgrim and jamming out and the escalation of tonight tonight on Mellon collie. But also keep in mind this is just a theory. There are also points where it doesn’t match up. Like at the end of bullet with butterfly wings the visuals don’t match the escalation of the music. So this is just a theory but this is a theory that I believe in and I think it’s pretty interesting. Sidenote Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness by the Smashing Pumpkins is one of the best albums of all time.

I saw this movie in theaters in 2010. One of my favorite movie-going experiences; it's always frustrating when a unique, fun movie doesn't get the box-office buzz that other films do.
