  • Hello all! In this video I go deep into the heart of central Nevada to a test a lost mine that nobody has been to in over 100 years. This is a very remote location that has to be hiked to in order to reach, so join me to see if it was worth the hike! My Mighty Mill makes onsite sampling SO EASY! It gives me instant results and helps me decide on whether or not I want to claim a site or not. I hope you enjoy, and please feel free to leave a comment, like, share, and subscribe!
    I use the newest version of my Mighty Mill in this video and it works better than I could have imagined, and is almost completely dust free, making the rock crushing experience much more enjoyable. I will be making more of these mills that will be available in October 22, so stay tuned if you'd like to get your hands on one!

    Fed my Mighty Mill 26.5 pounds of rock and gravel thus far, and can attest that it is worth every cent paid and then some. No difficulty getting to 20 minus in a second or two, and 30 minus all the way to talcum powder levels possible with a bit more time.
    Some observations from this first run. The screened discharge tube can't reasonably keep up, and attaching a vacuum pretty much instantly clogs the screen. As someone else suggested, dumping pulverized ore out the feed chute is the fatest/easiest way to empty. A paddle switch operated grinder is awesome for best control, and pulsing the grinder seems more effective than simply leaving on steady. Finer pulverizing seems best achieved by adding more and more material until you begin to hear the grinder laboring a bit. (I expect this is due to the vast open space of the shackles from the walls, and look forward to the new hardened shackle design, that I think will make grinds finer faster) You'll find yourself repulverizing courser classified material, and this is when the discharge tube becomes helpful. Just use a bucket on the hook, and not a vacuum. Once through all my ore, I had about a half cup of material above 30 minus, that the mill couldn't pulverize further, simply because there is no other material to act against. Again, I think this will improve with the new modified shackles.
    Overall, there is nothing that I can complain about, with the Mighty Mill. Well designed, built solid, and priced great. Oh and hand built by an American! 🇺🇸 😀👍

      Thank you! I'm very proud to say that I have kept my mill "inflation free" because I sell them for the *same price* as when I first released the mill 3 years ago.... $375 for the mill and $55 for a discharge tube with 2 screen sizes that attaches directly to the front door.

      That one didn't have much good stuff left due to the fact it's right off the highway, but you can find them practically everywhere in NV, especially in Central Nevada. I recommend near Goldfield, Belmont, Candelaria, Tonopah, (my other video) Gold Eagle Mine, and many other smaller mining camps throughout the Mt. Diablo mountain range. Google Earth is your best friend lol!

      @@onemansthought Fernley is where I stop for my gas fill up each time I go through NV. There are TONS of old mines (gold mines) in the outskirts of Fallon. I highly recommend using Google Earth and start scouring the mountains around you.

    Hi, at how many rpms do you run the mill (safely)?

    • @southernoregonprospector9074
      @southernoregonprospector9074  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The mill itself is made out of 3/16" thick steel, so it can safely handle the rpms of a standard grinder, which is around 10,000 to 12,000 rpms. The bearing however is rated at 5800 rpms, so that's why I say to only run it in short bursts or short amounts of time. This gives the bearing a chance to cool and not be damaged. If you have a variable speed grinder that can have the rpms turned down, then you can run it constantly with no worries about damaging the bearing.

    • @southernoregonprospector9074
      @southernoregonprospector9074  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It can be, for overseas, but nobody else makes them like mine :-) And all others are more expensive than mine. After this last batch is gone I will be away for a few months, but when I return, all mills will be instock, ready to ship asap.

Sorry, but I'm not like Amazon, where I can just ship out a piece of china junk to you the very next day.
