Thanks dude. A honda dealership in Tucson Arizona wanted to charge my sister $1300 for this job. They weren't even installing a Honda pump. Goodness! It's a bit of hassle without a lift, but certainly feasible.
Thanks dude. I just did it your way on my sisters car. It saved me time because I brought a just few tools from willams az for the holiday. A honda dealership in Tucson Arizona wanted to charge my sister $1300 for this job. They weren't even installing a Honda pump. Goodness!
Oh dear ! 9:25 you can see what I'm sure is that O-ring seal caught and suashed out of the side of the cylinder type connector ? Did it leak afterwards ? Great video for showing me the method to replace thank you.
is taking off the wrong top bolt a big issue? Will it cause problems down the road if I tighten it back or should I use threadlocker on the wrong bolt to put it back as I dont know the torque spec?
This is a great video! But I have a big problem , I broke my top 12mm bolt that holds the power steering pump to my eng. I’m trying to figure out how to remove this broken bolt without having to remove eng from vehicle
Good question. I don' t see it being able to cause a lot of shaking. But I am no expert. I would suspect a bigger component causing the whole car to shake.
Check the rotors put your wheel back on the car and wiggle it side to side make sure it's flat on the rotor then kinda move it see if it wiggles if so the rotors will cause it to shake at 80 bad. And discount tire had the best balance. ..
to save every one time this video consisted of "to take the pump off you have to unbolt the pump." we already know that we came here looking for tips on how to acess these very difficult to reach bolts and this video did not show us how, he just cuts to when he already has the wrench on the bolt. Thumbs down from me
Probably the O ring in either the high pressure or low pressure line bc once it cracks or hardens it lets air into the reservoir and it can foam up I have the same problem and am about to fix it
o-ring on the intake hose needs replaced. I have been looking around at repair videos and here is one i recently found that should solve your problem th-cam.com/video/D0Y-Q4qtI6Y/w-d-xo.html
So the pump I bought has 2 screw threads (fit the high pressure side) but the plastic connector only has 1. I threaded it, filled it, and it started leaking from that side. I quarter turned it and the plastic broke. Anyone know if they sell a 2 screw plastic connector for the high side? I’ve looked online.
Turning the steering wheel from side to side post repair will push the air out. It might be kind of a weird feeling in the steering until all the air is purged.
You don't know what happened to know what size that O-ring is on high pressure port I've got one here with a leaky o-ring and I don't know what size is?

So helpful it seems easy
Once you are in the middle of it got complicated but I did it🎉
I got my pump out and in with pully on . Spin it around pully towards engine and wiggle
Me too :)

In the coupe that pully has to come off to get out in-between thru the wheel well and control arm..
This channel is so understanding
Does the pump come with o-rings and fittings for hose?

Only thing I'd prob suggest is at the end. Lock to lock NOT STARTED... Do it a few times to get bubbles out. THEN lock to lock with it started.

What did you end up doing
Same problem I suffered but I give you the solution
Use a drill machine to remove that broken bolt
That O ring was flexing out
So underrated *
Solid video
I still don't know how you got the wrench to that top bolt. I had to remove the pulley to get to that bolt.
If you remove the cowl up top you can more easily access that top bolt from the top of the engine bay. Saved me a ton of hassle.
I found it possible to thread the top bolt before the bottom bolt.
TRQ- Is there an O-ring needed for the Black Plastic Connector?
I got a dumb question. If the pump is bad, does it make the car shakes?

yes it caused my car to shake but not too bad but it’s also cause my power steering pump has a leak :/
That's what I tell the guma put your safety glasses on. You know and all fluids and everything. 😆
Good work. 👍
So how many hours labor does it take, start to finish?
Does the steering pump for 1.8L and 2L are same? It’s for 2006 Civic
Is he working from the driver side panel where he removes the wheel
What size the O ring
Great video thanks 👍

What cause my power steering fluid to bubble?

What if I can’t get my tensioner bolt to budge?
It assume you took off the motor mount.mine has nowhere near that much access
Why didn't you show what fluid you were using? Would have been so easy to do so. What did you us
Wasn't specified here, but it's best to use Honda/Acura OEM Power Steering appliances for it,
Do you have to bleed the system?
dont believe so. they kinda bleed itself

What’s the part number for this ? I can’t find it for a 2008 Honda civic coupe
Is yours a 1.8 l?
How do I know that the pump has failed? I am getting whining noise from my civic.
This model pump is very hard to access, no room watsoever. I take the subframe off.
