hell yeah salute , had to replace a knock sensor on a huinday sonata took a fat min did it in the parking lot in front of my recruiters recruiting station 😂🎉
I have another car now but when In the process of replacing my R18 s cracked oil pan i saw web cracking at the bottom end of the combustion chamber around the piston. Idk if this is where the engines crack, but either way it wasnt good.
Awesome work brother, I just bought a motor 50,000km out of a 2010. Someone’s grandma got hit in the passenger rear. My motor has a worn out connecting Rod Baren smh 280,000km
Awesome Job Cody! I am gonna JB weld my crack for now until I figure out what I am going to do for the long term. Hopefully it will hold during the winter months. Been running water in the radiator for a few months now.
well done buddy, next time you can use a jack a lower the engine first to unbolt the crankshaft just do not remove driver side mount and lower a motor a litle bit so you have acces, because sometimes even realy strong impacts do not work,i tryed on same civic 2007 last time !050 psi from harbor frights it did not work,so i had to use a hoge bar with 3/4 drive and it come out
Looking for info on a Honda 1.8L R18A/R18Z Engine conn rod & main bearing code. Anyone have idea where it would be stamped on the block or maybe on main bearing bridle? I have a 07 Civic DX & am dropping in a 2010 1.8L due the OEM Manufacturing problem of Poor Casting Issues on the 2006-08 & early 2009"s Civics with 1.8L in them, which leads to leaking Coolant. I wanting to do a bearing roll-in before I drop in the 2010 1.8L engine into my car.

@@BACONNWRAPPED Idk why he didn't reply because that's a great question. But at 200k plus miles I'm sure that engine is fine. Barely breaking in for the R18.
So these engines got a crack in the block through years 06-08 huh? Hmm my cousin is selling me a honda for only a grand going to have to see what year it is the car is for my brother it will be his first car
That's quite a job to be doing on the side of the street. Very impressive. Good job!
Thanks brotha🙏

Just found out my son’s Civic (2008) has the infamous cracked block, smh. Great video. Starting my search for a 2010-11 engine.

Also don't forget some engines specifically the 1.8 have problem with the power steering seal.

You did a good job on this video. Thanks for your help
just got my replacement engine yesterday, jdm import with 60k miles for 800$, came with all oem accessories and sensors except for ac compressor
Great video bro 😊I love this
Do you think this is close enough to a 2013 Honda civic that I could follow along and it still be applicable?
Definitely!

Yeah those crank bolts are tough to break. Impact only worked for my situation cause I have removed it in the past already
Nice one bro

I’m not sure. I would recommend buying locally if you can. But there are a lot of online dealers on eBay if that helps at all
Did you use the original wiring harness and swap it over to the jdm engine?
Yes
Hi
Do you know if the jdm engine does not have the same issue with the coolant leak on the block?
JDM engines didn’t have defects in the casting process. Also all have 60k miles or less for most part
Did you have issues with your throwout bearing being to short? Normally the jdm engines are auto and need a larger bearing?
Mines auto so I wouldn’t know on that one. I would imagine the flywheel pressure plate would bolt right on tho

Where did you buy the jdm motor from? Looking for a replacement rn
Redline JDM in Ontario CA. Highly recommend them
Why did you remove the engine 😊
How the motor crack? Where? Anything u could do to prevent it?
At the casting lines in the back. Most crack in the front. It was a manufacturing defect

how long did the removal and swap take total?

Where as your leak
It was on the backside by the PS pump
@@codycarlson9441 possible to weld?
