Thank you for telling my people story, Zipporah is Ethiopian it's a common name in the northern tribe of Ethiopia near Egypt and all the way to Yemen but my people are always represented as Europeans especially Zipporah. We are Africans and black, the story took place in Africa

Zipporah was the one who saved moses from dying bcoz he did not circumsize his son. She was a powerful woman who saved moses from dying.❤
She circumcised Moses, too...besides that, she wasn't his first wife

Moses was a general in the army of pharaoh who was @ war with the Cushite kingdom. It is not too far fetched to have a wife after a battle and peace. This would be before. He was exiled
Moses did not have a wife before he was exile.
Good point
If that was the case that heart his Cushite wife after a battle before his exile in to Midian why was Aaron and Miriam talking about her and not the Midianite wife...I am curious???
The Bible does not say any of that. All we know from the Bible before he fled Egypt is that Moses was born, his mother hid him, Pharoah’s daughter adopted him, and 40 years later he killed someone who was beating a slave. We know nothing about how he passed those 40 years, and speculation is not useful in Christian teachings.
@@CourtneyGBartlett Hi Courtney. Exodus 2:15-22 tells us quite a lot. When Moses sets off with his wife & sons in Exodus 4:20 "Moses set them on a donkey ..."(NKJV) so his sons were obviously quite young then.
Exodus 18:1-8 tells of Moses being reunited with his family after Moses lead the people out of Egypt.
There is much about Moses compared to many other
people in the Bible. (There is more later about his sons in Chronicles.)

I think Zipporah was a black woman. (Numbers 12:1-3). it's a shame your video didn't portray her accurately. Otherwise, an excellent video. Thank you for posting :)
I agree. She definitely was dark skinned according to scripture.
He spoke on it slightly in the video, I too wish the pictures reflected more of what he said though.
What difference does her skin color make?
@@lorimichaels905 it matters because God gave Miriam and Aaron leprosy because they disparaged Moses, for marrying Zipporah, because of her skin tone.

Lovely story. Amen God cares about relationship.
Interesting topic and analysis.
I think with prophets, God usually have them go through what the people he has sent them to will be going through, as though they are first partakers.
Moses goes through the waters at his birth and is rescued, the Israelites will go through the waters. Moses encounters God in the wilderness for the first time, Israel will too.
Circumcision: the angel that went through Egypt slayed anyone whose covering wasn’t marked with the sign of the covenant (this time blood). If an Egyptian had the blood on their door in the manner God commanded, they were saved. If an Israelite didn’t have the mark of blood on their door, they were not. It is proof that God’s safety isn’t about a particular person or people or race, instead, it is about anyone who is covered by the covenant by their participation in it. By refusing to circumcise his son, he’s not covered by the covenant and is exposed to God’s judgment on sin/disobedience.
Marriage: Jesus says in the beginning God intended for one man to have one wife but Moses let them because their hearts were stubborn and wicked. Unless Moses is one of those whose hearts were stubborn and wicked too, he would have followed God’s design for marriage. Seeing as it is him who wrote God’s marriage design in Genesis 1,2&3, I imagine he had a deep revelation that a man was to cleave to 1 woman to achieve spiritual oneness.
Significance: I’d argue that the significance of her story is a foreshadowing of God’s plan to unite the world back to Him. By having Moses experience a family where non Israelites were a part of, Israel was ready to receive others into God’s family. When they were leaving Egypt, God said any Egyptians who wanted to come with them should be accepted in and not treated as a foreigner. This shows God’s plan had always been to reunite the world, Moses got to experience it first.
why is it that zipporahs color seems to be the sticking point most often? In Num 12:10 Miriam was smitten by God with Leprosy. The Bible says she became leprous white as snow! My question is if she became leprous (white) then what color was she??? 😮
Black duh
Numbers 12:1 talks about Moses being married to a cushite woman, Miriamn was speaking ill of Moses and ended up developing leprosy because of it. Zapora was a Midianite and the 1st wife. The second woman who was married to Moses is a cushite.
Don’t worry about looks it’s heart GOD examines
It's always not about the color when it favors you. It's not historically correct. If it's not about color then why did they change EVERYONE's color in the old testament to look more European than African?
When its favors you. Half of tge story in the old testament is in Africa but the people are from France.

Zipporah, Moses’ Midianite wife, reminds us that God can use anyone, regardless of background or circumstance, to accomplish His purposes. Zipporah, a foreigner, became an important companion to Moses in his journey to liberate the people of Israel. To everyone reading this, may God grant our brothers and sisters the openness to accept and love everyone, regardless of their cultural or background differences.
Yes Abraham had a second wife after the death of Sarah and had meny children. However he sent them away from the promised son.
I named my baby Zipporah ❤ We call her Zippy. Zipporah means beautiful little bird 🐦.
…there is also the possibility that Moses has discussed the circumcision of his sons and the importance with Zipporra and she did not buy into it, refusing to allow her sons to be so circumcised. That point to the way she responded at God’s approach to rebuke/kill Moses for the disobedience to circumcises the sons.
Wonderful wonderful wonderful from India
The title is a bit off. What do you mean she was his "first wife" . Wasn't she his ONLY wife? I see a lot of people say that Moses divorced her, where is that written???

Prejudice been around since the beginning of time so sad
IT WASN'T A PREJUDICE ISSUE. IF YOU KNOW THE BIBLE YOU'D SEE WHERE ISRAELITES WERE FORBIDDEN TO INTERMINGLING WITH OTHER CULTURES BECAUSE ISRAEL WAS WEAK SPIRITUALLY OFF AN ON. AND THEY'D ADOPT PAGAN WAYS AND THEN GOD GOT ANGRY AND PUNISHED THEM! IT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH PREJUDICE!.. SEE HOW UNKNOWABLE PEOPLE PULL THE SKIN CARD?? YOU J7ST DID FROM A LACK OF KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING THE BIBLE. IT DOESN'T MAKE SINCE THAT MOSES DID THAT BECAUSE HE'D HAVE GONE AGAINST YAHWEH'S COMMANDMENT NOT TO INTERMINGLE. LOOK WHAT ESAU DID, AND GOD HATED ESAU.

Zipporah was a black woman, a kushite. Ive got a book written about Zipporah....Yethro rescued a woman and her child from a boat. Yethro took the woman as his wife, he saved their lives, so Zipporah wasnt his biological daughter, but treated her as so.

Zipporah is Moses' only wife, according to the Bible. She was a cousin of Moses and the entire Israelite tribe. Her people, the Midianites, descended from one of Abraham and Ketura's six sons, who was named Midian.
@@lorikeffer6339 and she didn’t look like that… She is described a Midianite,Cushite, and Ethiopian! We know that she didn’t look like Sandra Bullock!
Zipporah was very, very dark complexion. So dark that God cursed Mariam with leprosy ironically causing Mariam to turn snow white complexion, seen then as a curse. This was because God afflicted Miriam with leprosy because she spoke out against Moses, for he marrying Zipporah. Zipporah didn t look like this picture of her; her complexion should be about 10 shades darker.
You're mistaken! Moses was married twice, and Numbers 12:1 is about his 2nd wife, a Cushite wife.
@@rhondajkestinyou speak of the same person.
@cheryldaniels9745 How can that be? Zipporah was Midianite (Exodus 2:15-21), whereas the Numbers 15:1 wife was Cushite! Look up the words "Midian" and "Cush" and you'll discover that they were located in TOTALLY DIFFERENT places!!!! Moses married Zipporah at age 40, but he lived to age 120. It makes total SENSE that his 1st wife could've died before he did.
It wasn't that she was so dark The translation of the teachings I've gotten was it was more cultural she was of a different culture. They didn't look at Black and White back then the way Western civilization has promoted it. It was more cultural than race because they were brown
The Bible never said Moses had more than one wife.
See Numbers 12:1. Zipporah was Midianite. The 2nd one was a Cushite, which definitely was NOT the same as a Midianite! Cush was near both Egypt and Ethiopia, whereas Midian was in modern Saudi Arabia.
Moses lived to 120, it is not amazing of his first wife died and he took a second.
The Bible doesn't say much about anything! The translators took out of scrolls 📜 what they wanted to. Just like they're doing today! Very biased and subjective reporting!
He married another wife
That’s why it is good to study the word of God, Bible for yourself. Moses had one wife only. So please stop following people with deeper revelations of the Bible and stay with the basic
I didn't know he had a second wife.
And Moses didn't look like Charleston; just like Cleopatra didn't look like Liz! If all these people mentioned in the Bible lived like nomads in the Middle East, they were people of color. Not white with blue eyes and blonde hair. The history of the world has been distorted, therefore what we see in the movies has been glamorized to get our attention and our money!
Correct
It is unfortunate that Zipporah was not pictured with dark skin. That slight makes me hesitant to follow this channel. What else will they change?
For me moses was the best prophet of GOD
Aaron and Miriam spoke against Zepora because she was black and God put a curse on Mariam for her bad behavior
No! Moses, Aaron, and Miriam are Shemites. They are so-called Black people.
Zipporah is a Cushite, a descendant of Shem's brother, Ham. All of them were so-called Black people, all of them! The problem is that they are of different lineages. It has NOTHING to do with race! This is about lineage!
The children of Jacob so called Isreal were all black but Mariam and Aaron spoke about zapora because she wasn't Israelites but Egyptian.those people they have changed everything into whait but God revealed to me the true colour of Jacob he was black and Esau was whait that is the truth. I see both of them in dream.

@@rhondajkestin I didn't mention about Moses's wives l said that Jacob he was black in colour I ever seen him in the dream

The emphasis on the great understanding of Zipporah in the matter of circumcision is appalling. Who was at the burning bush? Moses,. Then Moses probably already knew its duty to perform circumcision to his son. More than probable, his wife Zipporah REFUSED his son to be mutilated until his husband was under the treath of dying for desobeying. Her declaration after the forced circumcision of her son shed a better light on the mood of this defying woman that was rebuke by Yah. You turned her into a hero and a wise woman when in fact she was the culprit that almost put the prophet of Yah in the tomb...
What is your problem? My goodness - why so much anger? Evaluate yourself.
@@DontBDeceivedUsowUreap Either you are a feminist or under their thumbs

Definitely, you're God's mind. 😂
I agree with this point 100%.
Could it have been that She had firmly disapproved of circumcision that for the sake of peace Moses kept quiet about it. So when she saw that Mose's God can't be mocked she felt forced to urgerntly perform the circumcision herself? I suppose these issues happen to Christians who fail to discuss and come to mutual agreements before marriage even these days😊. Our God is good. All glory to Him.

The only problem I have so far is all of the "might be's," and "could be's" and possibilities. Personally, I believe that the Kushite woman was a second wife. Zipporah was not Kushite. In your title, you say that this is the complete story of Zipporah. However, you're guessing like the rest of us. About Miriam and Aaron, yes, I do believe that they were jealous of Moses' calling as the leader as well as very critical of the Cushite wife.

Not accurate Moses wife was a cushite of the black Hammic people decented from Ham. 2. Moses was young at the time he met his wife. Not old looking as described in this video.
Where does the Bible say that Moses had more than one wife?
Moses had two wives according to the scripture. The scripture doesn't say if his first wife died and then married his second wife, so I will not add to the word of God. However, he had two wives. They are two different people, this is made clear in the scripture. Zipporah was a Midianite, a daughter of Jethro, also known as Reuel. Jethro is a descendant of Abraham's son, Midian, by his 2nd wife, after the death of Sarah named Keturah (Genesis 25:1-4). The Midianites live in the north west area we know now as Saudi Arabia. Moses other wife was Ethiopian. Her name was not given in the scripture (Numbers 12:1).
According to the book of Josephus, Moses married Tharbis, the Cushite woman when he was a prince in Egypt. Later on he married, Zipporah the Midianite woman.
Mary accused Aaron of their younger brother, not Moses They say that the person who defiles the holy God will come to him(john3:16-21/8:1-12)Luek15

Before Moses could save the Israelites from Egyptian bandage, he needed the Melchizedek priesthood. He received it from his father-in-law, who received it from his father, who received it from his father. back to Noah.
Moses wanted to introduce the Israelites to God, face to face but they proved to him they were unwilling to abandon their Egyptian teachings, God gave the Israelites the Aaronic priesthood as a school teacher to prepare them for the Melchizedek priesthood, which is needed to see God face to face without dying.
Every prophet has seen God face to face and lived.
Moses did not die. He was taken into heaven just like the people of Enochs city.
Bible says YAHWEH buried Moses. Doesn't say he was taken up.
This did not have nothing to do with color this just have something I think to do with religion
