Number 4# "Healing with Food".....Not in Skyrim it doesn't! Not much anyway! You'd need to eat your entire larder of food before you see any effects! And then after, you can run and engage in battle and not want to sleep or throw up!

    Some other examples:
    - Extra lives (how was this not mentioned?)
    - Player movement: characters can instantly stop after sprinting at full speed, or turn around on the spot.
    - Maps that show you exactly where the enemies are.
    - NPCs who are crucial to plot progression cannot die (or will magically respawn after battle if they were killed).
    - When solving puzzles, leaving an area and returning will reset it to its original state.
    - In game sequels, characters forget abilities they learned in the previous game.
    - Plot events suspiciously only progress when the player arrives at the desired location. Doomsday may be imminent, but it'll have to wait until you've collected those priceless artefacts or ventured off to the secret island.

In Uncharted 4, they actually justified Nathan Drake's regenerating health by saying that when he "took damage", he wasn't actually getting hit; the hit markers are meant to symbolize his luck running out. When Nate runs out of "luck" (ie. health), the enemies finally hit him and he dies in one shot. Those evil mercenaries sure have some trash aim

    Honorable Mentions:
    *Friendly Fire
-In some games, you can't attack or damage your allies OR NPCs. What sense does this make?! You can't just attack someone and expect them not to get hurt or feel pain!
    *Clipping
-This is something that still happens in games today! Seriously, how am I supposed to cut off a monster's tail in Monster Hunter IF THE TAIL IS INSIDE THE WALL?!!!
    *Overly-persistant Enemy AI
-Yeah, remember the issue of enemies that will forget you exist if you hide? One extreme can be just as bad as the other. Take for example, where enemies can just chase you down to the ends of the earth to kill you if you don't kill them first. Because OBVIOUSLY enemies can never decide to just give up on persuing the player. Unless you're dealing with the Terminator of Nemesis, this isn't going to work!

14:24 this actually varies whether or not you are playing a fps that has a focus on realism or not. And the remaining ammo in the mags are kept if the magazine is retained.

Sometimes things that appear illogical are just indicative for the player... which isn't quite the same as being illogical. For example... crouching is indicative of taking more care where you tread as well as reducing your visibility by moving slower, or lights/effects on your skin/costume that are invisible to the AI and just indicate your visibility. And, rubber-banding can also refer to how enemy AI changes based on your location despite you being unobserved moving from point A to B and then back to A... so the Ai is always in a place you have to fight them or being unobserved is always a certain difficulty.

  • @tactical-daddy
    @tactical-daddy ปีที่แล้ว +6

#5, it's called a tactical reload IRL. You removed a partially fired magazine after firing some rounds because you are still in danger and not actively being shot at, you take the partially fired magazine and put it in your dump pouch. An emergency reload is when your mag runs dry and you go into bolt lock. So it's not too off landish to not see the round count drop if you reload in a game and the mag isn't empty yet, perhaps they just put it in their dump pouch so they can admin reload it later

    • @maloc1824
      @maloc1824 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I have done a double jump in real life. I was playing basketball in high school gym class, and I jumped to block a pass by a much taller player. Halfway up I thought to myself there's no way I can reach this ball, but then said to myself, no I can make it, and I swear I felt a second surge in upward momentum and managed to actually knock the ball out of the other player's hands. The whole class erupted. It all happened in the span of half a second.

Some of these dates are inaccurate. I mean 19:10 has Sonic Adventure coming out in 1989. I don't know how you get that wrong because the Dreamcast was almost a decade away from releasing. Even if you were going for "when the first title debuted" (which you weren't, judging by the other entries) Sonic came out in 1991. The Genesis did release in North America in 89, but if you wanted to put the age of the Mega Drive, it launched in 1988 in Japan.

Actualy Crouching makes you quiter. since your not hitting the Ground with a streched Knee you make less sound because your knee dumpens the noise. Also when you walk normaly you dont have concentrate on your walk and make more noise, and when you crouch, you take you next step more carefully automaticly, so yes crouching makes you do less sound for sure.. Another thing when you walk straigt is you hit the FLoos first with your Heels, when you crouch your walking on your Toes. thats the whole reason to crouch. to dumpen your steps lol.
Also the Weapons durability is a real thing in real life. i dont know how old you are. but i have seen Knifes go down in Kitchen and at my Grandmas Home. they didnt use Knifes a lifetime. they once go blunt and then you need to sharpen it, and it takes away material. i have seen Knifes who was sharpend down to 1/5th of what they was before.

    Some honorable mentions:
    - It is always day/night, no matter how much you dilly dally
    - Enemies never run out of ammo
    - After the "heat" dies down (you hide or change disguise) the enemies totally forget what you looked like and go back to pretending nothing is going on and they have never seen you in their lives.
    - Locked doors, unbreakable windows, invincible objects that are not an active part of the game, just a part of the scenery. The scenery is always invincible somehow.
    - Regenerating or recharging powers, nitrous, etc. in time; How do they regenerate? using what energy? what matter?
    - Zero fatigue/Unlimited stamina: You can run, jump, climb, hang from a ledge, etc. for hours and hours and you never get tired or lose a single bit of your stamina. How?
    - Unlimited fuel in vehicles, almost always in all games that have vehicles.
    - Things that happen too fast: eating food, changing clothes, trying new things, even reloading (especially shotguns) are just much faster than you can possible do them in real life.
    - The very idea of stealth: If you crouch or move slowly, you can approach an enemy from behind even in a completely quiet space as if you made absolutely zero sound when you were approaching. It can never happen in real life.
    - Knowing: the special 'vision' you have of knowing where the enemies are. It can be called 'eagle vision', 'instinct', 'vision', and other names in different games, but there is always this supernatural ability to know the exact cooridnates of the enemy somehow.

Yes There's something illogical about video games whose absence from our list me to struggle to make sense of the PS3 or on the PS4 or on my switch like Video Game Romances and Rubber Banding and Weapon Durability and Invisible Walls and Inventory Space and I Guess He's Gone and Convenient Glowing Parts and Time Heals All Wounds and Rich Wildlife and Respawning Enemies and Healing With Food and Instant Death and The Double Jump

What the hell is up with the way he said the word “inventory” the first time lol

Video game logic that makes no sense.... that's why it's called "video game logic" video games are not meant to be realistic

For how characters carry ridiculous amounts of stuff, look no further than Christopher Walken's monologue in Pulp Fiction. "He hid it in the only place he could... in his ass."

I was hoping you'd mention what happened in the Thor game. In one certain section he wasn't allowed to fly. Absolutely no reasoning was made why this occurred.

In most tournament fighting games with health bars, a competitor with an empty health bar is knocked out, not dead.

First off, I'm surprised you didn't mention time limit. Where the video game character has to hurry before time runs out or else they die; like Mario dies if the timer reaches to zero, or Sonic dies if the timer reaches to ten minutes. What's the point of dying because of a time limit in real life?
And second, there was an error you made. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 video game was released in 2014, not 2004.

That's the fun thing about fighting games, it's wacky, and I Tekken everyone speaks a different language yet everyone understands everyone including King and Kuma

Me and my friends use rubber bending as term for lagging ie if you go ahead on a online game then suddenly you come back to a place cause your net lagged and it registered on your pc but not on server so you came back

Auto-scrolling levels, it’s fine if the whole game has them, but if it’s only for certain parts, and there’s no explanation like the flying air-ships in Mario 3, then it’s kind of weird.

Mention for the "I Guess He's Gone" section.
Final Fantasy XI Online definitely didn't have this. If an enemy saw you, they chased and attacked you, and didn't stop, ever, unless you loaded to a new screen area. You could run, you could hide, they would never stop chasing and attacking you, ever... They followed me into the home castle to kill me.
