i did play it, i regret losing out on £60. hell i didn't even buy it, i randomly got a charge on my psn account and booted up my ps4 to find it downloaded, and sony wouldn't let me refund it after a game has been installed. i hadn't turned my playstation for months, so turns out sony just started buying it on people's account for them

TLOU 2 is the first game to feature full Motion Matching for all Animations trust son Bioware just announced their looking into implementing this technology in future games and ND has the best technique as per industry Devs statements don't be surprised if you hear 5-6 years from now a lot of Devs trying to spend big to catch up on the animation front.
Stealth has been improved enemies actually plan routes and setup traps and flanks for the player especially on harder difficulties so camping in cover wont work when 3 dudes are squeezing your sight lines, and hiding under objects works for so long until enemies look at every corner again A.I improvements.
Gunplay is a weak spot since it only benefits from the Motion Matching improvements that make fights more enjoyable.
Melee combat has gotten a huge boost from the MM and the fluidness of Animations besides now having a dodge button adding another layer to the combat fortunately a stamina bar would have been a good implementation to add more flare and another mechanic to engage.

I’ve been playing games that interests me. While waiting patiently for Cyberpunk I’ve come to realize that a lot game developers are starting to draw lines. People are getting fed up with politics and social justice agendas. We don’t play games for political views or personal beliefs. We play them for entertainment. I consider a game as great if it can catch my interest, keep me entertained, and has an actual story. And that’s just the basics. Ghost of Tsushima accomplished that. I felt like I was playing a game from when I was younger.
I just bought L.A Noire on 360 for 1pound. Got 2 days out of it so far. Not full days lol i got kids and stuff. About 6 or 7 hours play and still got disk 3 to do. My point is that its on sale for xbox 1 for £25. I dont really get full priced remastered games. Seem a bit cash grabby

But due to political reasons, this was all overlooked and ever praised. It's the same thing with most award shows, it's not about what and how you make it, but what POLITICAL alignments you have and promote.
As for game's own elements (story, characters), you can argue it was just bad and incompetent instead being propaganda, but you can't argue that for the reason why even though it was bad, it was praised by the media, and overwhelmingly disliked by the public.

Most people don't care for politics and just want their entertainment in media that allows them to escape from the real world. Games like TLoU2 did the exact opposite.
The fans of the first TLoU mostly hated it's sequel because of politics as well as terrible story, but since the game overall had the "correct" thoughts and mindsets regarding social norms, that's why it's being championed as some pinnacle of gaming.

Genshin Impact is a freemium Breath of the Wild without breaking weapons.
Unpopular opinion, but I like BOTW weapons system. Didn't at first, but as I progressed through the game and realized how many weapons there were and how little inventory space I had, I liked the cycling variety. Currently completely loaded up with edge of dualities and royal claymores, the Hylian shield, radiant shields for surfing, and lynel shields. Just switch to the master sword whenever it's powered up. And I like Genshin Impact but like... it doesn't have Link tho

Red Dead 2 was a mess and didnt deserve it either. Red Dead 2 has alot of problems. Bad controls( PS1 game play better lo), bad fasttravel design, bad gunplay, garbage multiplayer that tried to rip you off amm.

And yet Naughty Dog is "Best Studio" and their game is somehow "Ultimate Game of the Year" when Sucker Punch and their game Ghost of Tsushima exist?

Microsoft doesn't give a rats ass about international markets. It's so bad, parents refer to consoles as "playstations". Shame they don't post numbers like in Japan or we would see a brutal humiliation.

My original point was that you can't deny the popularity and recognizability of Fortnite, which has seen countless news articles and was mainstream and still remains relevant. Last Of Us 2 came out and people were outraged, it made no where CLOSE of a impact Fortnite had on the gaming industry OR Overwatch. People still regularly talk about Overwatch and it's updates but nobody talks about Last Of Us 2 because they like it.. last of us 2 is always surrounded by controversy and is hated by a majority of gamers and fans alike.
Witcher 3 is a revolutionary game but it's still sold less copies than Overwatch but we're not talking quality here, we're talking about popularity and recognizability. Witcher 3 has faded a bit in terms of popularity due to it being a single player game while Overwatch and Fortnite is still talked about because it's updated regularly.

@@colton5889 yeah... with only pressing one button to actually kill most enemies in the game. The combat in GoT is not that outstanding. At least in TLOU2 had encounters that required more effort. And the story was actually not that great until the 3rd act. Not saying the game is trash, but it definitely wasn't all that groundbreaking. It felt like a bare bones Japanese Assassins Creed game with less RPG elements.
The fact that Genshin was runner up for game of the year tells me everything I need to know about this awards show. Genshin is fun, but it's horribly grindy and constantly stalls your progress (by design). It's gameplay is basic, characters are mostly flat but serviceable, and the plot is nothing special. I say this as someone who genuinely enjoys the game for the most part. The fact that they ranked that over Doom: Eternal and Ghost of Tsushima is downright ridiculous.
