It really feels good to get back and make these videos. GN is one thing that really makes me happy in life. Thanks for coming along the ride guys. Enjoy this episode on #Guinea, one of the least visited countries on the world.

Just got a beep on my cellphone which woke me up n I saw a notification from GN !!! Watched the Guinea episode felt happy I'm extremely happy for your comeback Paul
The word Guinea comes from Guinea ,Conakry from the Susu tribe. the word “Guinee” means woman. when a group of Europeans arrived on the coast they meet some women washing clothes in an estuary. The woman Indicated to the man that they were woman. The Europeans misunderstood and thought the woman were referring to a geographic area; they subsequently used the word “Guinea” to describe coastal west Africa. ! PIN THIS !
2 year old comment but yeah this isn't true. The fact is we don't know for certain where the name Guinea came from. But we do know that some of the earliest recorded uses of the name come from north africans who were trading with europeans in the early 14th century. So it was most likely from the berber word for black people, aguinaou.
@@QuickNelly how you gonna tell me dum ass I’m Guinean y’all colonizers always wanna dictate and be the all knowing. It’s literally a native language it came from the original people who lived there.
Guinea: Hey, Sierra Leone, want a hug? Sierra Leone: What? Why? Guinea: Political Geography, that's why. Liberia: Hey, what about me? Guinea: Eh, you get a pat on the shoulder.
I am impressed. You had some really tough time the last couple of weeks, but this is still a very solid episode! We'll follow you all the way to Z and beyond!
In a site where hate against countries is so rampant and normalized, such a nice series like GN is just a breath of fresh air tbh :v Very objective and doesn't use the bad parts of any country to hate on it undiscriminately. I can't wait for Mexico's episode!
Thanks for sharing all this knowledge. Guinea seems to be a wonderful country. I gonna visit this place one day. Next time, can highlight the culture and tradition please.
But imagine the quality of the content by them. As the chanel keeps improving, I kinda feel bad by my county being on of the first to be explored (Brazil btw).
Same. I kinda hope he redoes some of his earliest episodes like Afghanistan once he's done. Not that they weren't amazing but the newer ones have definitely improved in terms of quality.
Yeah no there's a lot of beautiful waterfalls. I've driven through Kindia several times and never thought to stop and look at hte military base. In fact Ii did meet one American who took a photo of one of the military bases in Conakry... he spent three hours being interrogated after doing so. In conclusion, military bases are probably not good "top sights"

hi, great video as always, but there is a mistake about the last animist tribe remaining in west africa. I lived in Burkina Faso for 4 years, and i can assure you that in the entire west africa ( under the sahel) , you can find animist tribes, even if they are considered as christians :). They combine both of theses " religions". Peace :)
Well, i had the chance to live there as an expatriate, so the life was pretty cool. I had a woman who was cooking, a gardener, etc... But unfortunately, there is a lot of issues in this country, because of the poverety, some diseases, like paludism, which is the 1st death cause in the country. But it is a beautiful country and i recomand you to visit it, especially in the south, near Banfora, it's very green, and beautiful
