  • The Kia Optima S is an ALL NEW trim level for 2020. Under the hood is 2.4L inline-4 185 HP & mated to a 6-speed automatic. The Optima S brings special exterior accents along with unique wheels just for this trim level. On the inside there are plenty of touches that make the Optima S very unique and sporty. Is the 2020 Kia Optima S the best value mid-size sedan?

    I test drove the 2019 accord, Camry, and optima today. Let’s just say I love the way the optima drives. I hated how tiny the Camry was and how it felt cramped the accord was nice as well but over my price range. I am sticking with the optima.

My wish on that dime is for a Veloster N or Genesis coupe either or I'm not picky. Regarding what the optima targets, I'm still going to pick Camry out of the lineup as that redesign the Camry got has no comparison and the bigger engine with faster speed w/natural aspiration. The Honda Accord Sport ( Like the MPG, how the value of the car holds, but dislike the CVT, the stapler back lights you mention, and the feeling of the seating),;The Subaru Legacy Sport (Like the Freeway MIlleage 35 because I once a while drive 2 to 5 hr drives. I like the styling more than the accord when it comes to the lights, like the AWD because of I can go to the mountains. I don’t like it’s CVT though); and the Kia Optima (Love the styling , it’s 6 speed, interior is great, just dislike the MPG of 24/32, the hard covers in the back, and no connections in the back) Between these cars, which would you get and why?

  • @chazz2806
    @chazz2806 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I am on my FOURTH KIA and my THIRD Optima having leased two others previously. As I said, I have had FOUR KIAs. My first was a KIA Sephia which was a 1999 bare bones compact that was unexciting at BEST. I actually swore that I would never own another KIA. It wasn't bad for what it was since I was living in a congested city at the time, but I wanted my next car to be a LOT nicer and more stylish once I moved to Florida where I drove a great deal more. Eventually, that led me to a Dodge Stratus...the last year of production which I purchased with 1200 miles on i,t as a dealer demo car and got such a GREAT DEAL, I couldn't pass it up. I put a LOT of miles on it and was happy, but time and miles dictated that a new car was about due and I wasn't going to spend a king's ransom. Honestly, I wasn't sure WHAT my next car would be. I was impressed with the new generation HYUNDAI Sonata, but KIA had come out with the all new Optima a year after HYUNDAI had introduced their product. The styling really which caught my attention because it was super stylish and didn't look like a cheap, cheesy knockoff like their old KIA AMANTI. From everything I had read (Including Consumer Reports Car Guide), it was a HUGE leap forward for KIA. I saw them on the street and parking lots in increasing numbers, so when the time came I took a look. Surprisingly, I was blown away, so I leased a 2012....all the comfort options and completely trouble free the entire time I owned it. Next, I leased a 2015 which was pretty much the exact same, so I got a different color and interior combination so it would feel different from my first Optima. Again, trouble free for the most part except for one recall for chip reprogramming to eliminate the possibility of an engine knock. My latest is a 2017. This current generation came out in 2016 and again, a major leap forward, especially with the interior. The exterior had only minor changes, but looked clean and refreshed. Again, the main improvement was the interior. The layout and materials were much improved. Everyone and I mean EVERYONE who I have ever given a ride to is impressed with how nice the car is... I'm often told how nice the styling is and passengers remark on how roomy, quiet and comfortable it is. I drove 3 other adults at Thanksgiving... everyone was impressed with the car. I have had a number of people switch brands and not ONE has been unhappy though not all have purchased Optimas, because KIA has a really diverse selection of vehicles now, so there's something for everyone. It's not just the value, it's a well made car and a lineup of selections that take into account the needs of different people. Other comments I hear are from people who remember KIA from way back as a cheap, lackluster newcomer to the market and they say, "WOW, they've come a long way." Yes they have, no gimmicks or cheesy imitations, just a well though out product and business strategy. Lately, they have products like the Stinger and Telluride garnering "Car of The Year" honors. That's not something to sneeze at and says a LOT about the direction they are going in. I don't like HONDAs .... They are great cars, but they look so generic and TOYOTAs are just plain UGLY to me.... To each his own. This seems like a much better value than a NISSAN Altima or a Mazda. Right now I am contemplating moving up to a Cadenza, but I'm waiting for the release of the next Generation 2021 KIA Optima and Cadenza after seeing pictures and reading several reviews... I think the only curiosities I have at this point: I would love to see a 2 seat roadster. I also think the K900 is an unfortunate victim of it's KIA badge. It's an AWESOME Luxury vehicle, but perception, though changing, is that the KIA badge does not possess the right cache. It hasn't reached that level of prestige in the USA, but I think that over time, that's DEFINITELY going to change.

    I like that you review trims that majority of people will buy. Honda accord sport 2.0 and honda 1.5; Mazda 6 GT etc to name a few. A lot of people like me, we never care abt the highest trim cause of the price and many unnecessary stuff in there. Same as why buy the top trim toyota Camry when i can buy an awesome midtrim avalon. My 2 cents

      @@alvinsimba734 Yes, I got a 2020 Optima S. I'm glad I bought in 2020 before the car shortage. I got a great deal and it's been a great car so far. I have over 30,000 miles on it without any problems at all. I also bought a Toyota Sienna LE the same year. The Sienna's transmission is really jerky at low speeds and it's already had a recall for the fuel pump. I also had to bring it in to get a rattle fixed which turned out to be a bad weld in the right sliding door. Toyotas aren't what they used to be.
