Cool, I just uploaded a video from last week after I installed one on my Ranger 300. Your right, it made a huge difference. I have a map switch on order. I heard online that the rangers default to the rain map and you need to jump it or install a map switch to get access to the sun map. I'm curious how it will feel once I install the one I have on order.
I'm running a smart carb on my 2022 Rieju MR racing 300. Best thing I ever did. I had similar experience with carb and Jd jet kits. Right out of the box the smart carb was a better answer. Best of luck!!
The pipe on the ranger will never allow the bike to have any top end. It’s designed for down low power. Swapping the pipe out for a gnarly, or a stock racing or pro pipe will give the bike a ton of power. I messed with a few needles on my 300 ranger, but nothing ever felt perfect. Tossed a Lectron on, and it’s a completely different bike. Incredibly responsive, and will lift the front wheel at ease in 1st & 2nd gear. I primarily ride single track, and love how much of a tractor the bike is.
Thanks, for the tips. I had a smart carb on order but cancelled it to have funds for another bike. I'll probably pick one up next year. Did you end up putting on a aftermarket pipe? If so how do you like it?
They are honestly on par with each other. The biggest difference stock is that the Xtrainer has a more new rider-friendly powerband. It’s smoother and has slightly more torque in the lower gears at really low RPM. But on the flip side, the Rieju has a far better seat and is more comfortable at speed, plus the suspension handles choppy trails better. Both fit shorter riders well and can be tweaked to work with taller riders. If I had to rate them, I’d say the Beta is a better fit for the absolute beginner to two-stroke 300s. Once a person new to riding a 300 two-stroke gets used to it, they might find the Rieju to be more fun. Honestly, they are very close in every respect, and you will most likely be happy with either decision. After I got used to my Rieju Ranger, I wanted a little more power and installed an FMF Gnarly pipe. Whoa, did it wake it up! It’s like a different bike now. It now has all the torque at the lower RPM the Xtrainer has and a ton more midrange power. As far as entry/beginner bikes, both of these models are very capable. I would classify them as entry-level 300 two-strokes, but if one were to compare them to, say, a KLX 300 or a Honda 300L, the difference is night and day as far as off-road performance goes. In that sense, I’d say the KLX300 or 300L would be considered entry-level, and these two 300s as more of a mid-level. If you have experience and aren’t scared of a normal-sized dirt bike, I’d suggest checking out the Beta 300RR. It has all the power down low the Xtrainer has, a better suspension, and power to spare. It’s a very linear, smooth powerband as well, but when you need it, it has lots of extra power on tap.
Put a FMF Gnarly on my Ranger 200. Really woke it up. Money better spent than on a carb.

Thanks, I'm hoping to pick up a smart carb in a few months. I'll probably pipe it soon after. Should be fun!

@@notgamingwithmax I still have the stock pipe. I have 100 hours on the bike currently. When I get to 150, I’ll do a top end and swap the pipe.

So is it really an “entry/begginer” bike? Or is the XTrainer a better choice?

@@notgamingwithmax An excellent comparison, thank you for that!
