    Turning your heat on high only increases the fan speed for the HVAC system. The coolant flows the same to the heater core if your heat is on high or even off. Just an FYI.

    • @qssneaky
      @qssneaky ปีที่แล้ว

      By turning it up full blast you remove the heat quicker from the engine bay which in turn allows your HVAC to work at it's maximum.

    Watched a few of these videos and it would make sense that the temp sensor fixes all of this if you have well under 100K miles since that’s when you need to replace coolant. The varying temps to me would indicate a malfunctioning sensor.

    I’m having trouble with my temperature going up and then yes coming down. I tried flushing my system but i can’t seem to get all the fluid to drain. I spent all day yesterday trying to figure it out. I wound up putting an all new water pump in, which thinking now it most likely wasn’t necessary. My fan runs hard and makes a lot of sound. I thought i drained the radiator, added water and a special flush solution, and it apparently still had coolant in it, and now I’m freaked out.

      Up and down temps means your coolant level is low. The air in the system heats up and when the coolant makes it through, it cools back down. You have to burp the system to get the air out. There are many ways - but the easiest and cheapest is to park your vehicle with the nose uphill. You want the radiator cap higher than the rest of the system. When cool - top off the coolant. Run it some more and get it warm again. Let it cool with the nose up again. Top off the coolant. The air will typically always go to the highest point - so use that to help get all the air out.

    Question : my 2016 jk is doing the same thing has been to the dealer 10 times in the pass 9 months. They changed the thermostat 3 times , radiator , water pump and cleared any water pockets 3 times. Still the same issue !!! Coolant is always leaking from somewhere 1/5/22 will my 11th time at the dealer. Could you think of anything else it could be or this is 100% the fix ??

    • @BrianEaly
      @BrianEaly  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Check that coolant purge screw on top of the thermostat (under the intake) first off and make sure it has an O ring on it. If you can’t get to it easy, you can always look at it while it’s running to see if it’s leaking there. It seems to be the culprit for most pentastar engine problems cause it’s cheap, plastic, and sometimes the O ring is missing or broke. If it’s not that the coolant temperature sensor is worth a shot cause that one is super cheap. Best of luck man!

      I had a hard time finding my coolent leak since it was coming out of the back side of my engine. I ended up replacing my oil filter/cooler housing and got the leaking to go away. There are some good videos on that replacement online if you are willing to save some money.

      Oil cooler under the intake. Plastic ones were defective. They have remanufactured them now to be better.
      If you’re leaking from the transmission bell housing to the bottom middle of the undercarriage…that should be your culprit.

      @@mikemike7397 7:19 I had the same problem if you look down below your oil filter on top of the motor if it looks like oil under there definitely is a problem I replaced my oil cooler or oil filter housing with upgraded aluminum housing to find out that that wasn’t my overheating problem, I still had the same problem I put in three different aftermarket thermostats which are also cheap and not good. I took the one thermostat and readjusted the spring and it actually worked better. And maintain a steady temperature and I was good for the night but the next morning he started doing the same thing again I’ve flushed the radiator and bled the system for 15 minutes through the bleeder screw It looks like thermostat is opening and closing according to the temperature gauges but it fluctuates back-and-forth in between different temperatures going to buy a temperature sensor and a new Mopar thermostat. The top radiator. Hose is really hot bottom hose is cold and radiator is also cold to touch. Radiator is building pressure if I release the pressure out of my cap just a slight, turn then the temp gauge goes back down after running for a couple hours I was told a head gasket, which I’m not ruling out my instincts tell me something else!!!

    • @BrianEaly
      @BrianEaly  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think the temp sensor should be fine unless it starts randomly going up and down while the car is warmed up and been running… big thing to check is purging the new coolant your system got. It’s a super common problem, that air gets stuck in there and causes the system to go haywire. It’s super easy and free. If you have the 3.6L I purged mine in this video… you’ll hear it hissing out of there - if it had an air pocket. Best of luck, take care!

    • @BrianEaly
      @BrianEaly  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Odds are it’s one of the three + 1.
      First check the coolant level. (That’s free and the +1)
      Then try purging the coolant system… that’s in the video of how to do, that’s free, and super common in the 3.6 motor. (Usually the problem). Air in the system screws up the sensor and makes it go all over the place.
      If not those it’s either the thermostat, or the coolant temp sensor, sounds like the coolant temp sensor if the heat is still blowing.
      Hope you get her fixed. Best of luck.
