    I can't tell you how much you helped me. I bought pants thinking they had belt loops only to find they didn't, and having a smaller waist then hips it's a nightmare trying to sew without a sewing machine. I now have a way to make those pants fit and haven't spent allot on alterations! Thanks so much!

    My kids pants come with this and I always say why don't they just make this for adult pants too. Now I can do it myself. Yayy!! Lol.

    Thank you so much for making this tutorial. I have a 3yr old daughter and i buy her jeans a half size bigger ( being that toddlers grow so fast) i usually buy jeans with the elastic already in them. However this time around i didn't. thinking i could sew in the waist part ( it came out as a disaster by the way) i most definitely appreciate you. I believe all mom's should get into the habit of learning things like this.💕

    Thankyou for this tutorial.I sewed my denim skirt and the waist size was too long.You've saved me from cutting excess of the side seams as I wanted a full gather on the waistband.

    This is wonderful. Thanks for sharing. My 11-year-old grandson is y’all and slender. To get the length right the waist is usually to big and would bunch under the belt. This idea 💡 is excellent. It seems quick once you get the hang of it. Think I’ll try it on hubby’s jeans.

    I've always thought there must be a way to add this. My child is so thin I have to find the pants that come with the adjustable waist and sometimes I have to pass on really good deals because of that. Thank you for taking the time to share this helpful video.

    This was helpful indeed. I have added elastic to chino shorts and jeans, but my "repair" was not adjustable. Now that I know this buttonhole elastic exists, I will try your way next time I get a pair of casual pants that are just a little bit loose at the waist. Thank you!

    If you pin the elastic to a big ish safety pin and thread it through. The way you would add elastic to a waistband.
    But like the other lady said, my kid's pants and skirts have this. Why don't we have it lol xx

    My unasked for advice: model the pants before and after. I am wondering if the waist will looked gathered and bunchy afterward. That look is fine on elementary school kids but not on me.

    • @Jean78578
      @Jean78578  7 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      +Amy Tupper. I didn't think of that.. Most of my pants have the internal belt and they look great. It does not look bunchy. The elastic allows the waistline material to gather pretty evenly. If I buy pants to fit hips, waistline is sometimes little too loose. Now, if you are tying to fix pants that are way too big, it may not look too good, even with a traditional belt. If you could wear the pants with a traditional belt, I believe the internal elastic belt will be fine (but without bulk of a belt, having to find a belt, etc.)

    • @romainemckay4423
      @romainemckay4423 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I also wish we could have them modelled. Great idea.

    • @dman5958
      @dman5958 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Amy Tupper it would depend on how much you are taking in the waist. If you have so much fabric to take in but don't like the bunched look then the alternative would be to have the pants trailered. This is just a quick fix for people who don't want to take their clothes to the tailer.

      You could get a latching belt clasp from a craft store or Walmart craft area and tack some wide elastic on each end.
