    DAMN dude, I can't wait to see what kind of braking G's you can pull. I ended up going a little more budget oriented on my R32, I went with the Alpha Omega Evo brake kit that uses evo 8/9 brembos and an evo 10 rotor front and 370z rotor rear. I'll have cheap off the shelf rotors and pads available and I get a 350mm rotor all the way around. The other bonus is that it'll fit under my 17 inch wheels. I've already got a BM57 on the car, which kind of sucks with the stock 32 gt-r brakes. I'll be happy to report back what my braking G's end up being when it gets here from down under in a few weeks!

    Sold my gtr “r35” brakes and fitted a full Alcon kit. The difference is day and night. The money I got for my gtr brakes pretty much payed for the Alcon kit. Love my R35 but the gtr “fanboys” are crazy to pay those prises. 🤷🏻‍♂️

    • @michaelw4620
      @michaelw4620 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @RICARDO I agree they are made to work perfectly with a production car. That said lap after lap I have seen limits to the factory brakes. The Alcon kit has reduced the unsprung rotating mass quite significantly and later braking has been increased. Remember even though they are Brembos they are still made to a cost in accordance with the overall price of the car. Hence why Bugatti have a price tag that matches the 3D printed titanium callipers.

    Better idea for lining up the caliper is to apply the brakes with the bolts loose for the caliper, which will centralise the caliper by the pistons, I do this on my bike whenever the caliper is removed as they are radial mount like these are.

    I have SO been looking forward to this episode. I've seen some done before with different options but this is a much better route. One of my favourite dream mods for my R33 GTST...
    I know it's expensive but good value compared to aftermarket kits but how much would it cost in the ball park region if what you have here Andrew?

    • @MotiveVideo
      @MotiveVideo  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      All depends on how many things you buy new or second hand etc. if you buy R35 brakes with rotors and pads that are usable, then whole conversion might cost $7000AUD.
      But cheap calipers that need fixing and all new rotors and pads then it might cost a little over 10K AUD. But high end brake kits can cost more like 20K

  • @Mrx1080
    @Mrx1080 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    After doing much the same thing for my car I probably won't be doing it again unless it's for racing. For a street car, it is totally unnecessary and is basically only for aesthetics at the cost of several thousand dollars. One little known fact with these brake upgrades is they don't really improve stopping power much, they just reduce brake fade.

    • @MotiveVideo
      @MotiveVideo  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you have a larger and grippier tyre, which we will, then they will increase stopping power
      Often the tyre and suspension set up is the limiting factor

    Why anodise them black? That is such a sexy silver.

      Front rotors have black hats. Brakes get dusty so anodised black is best.

    Why did you put the Full Floating Rotor on the rear and not the front.
    Full Floating rotor should be on the front as they generate the most heat
    and require the most cooling.
