    This is usually our place to stay when we are in Pigeon Forge, unless we are doing a cabin. We love this hotel! The price is excellent, usually a bit cheaper than others. I wish you had gotten an opportunity to show one of the regular rooms that had been remodeled, they have nice flooring instead of carpet, and look much more updated. The people that run this place are very nice. They offer a decent breakfast, which before Covid and inflation was much more extensive. I love the little prayer box they have in the breakfast room. Also, I was thrilled that we saw J&B In The Hills there last time we were there! I got the chance to chat with John for a few minutes, super nice!

      I forgot to mention the breakfast room use to be family style room year’s ago you use to have to get breakfast at the motel check in office. Then for a long time you use to have the fold down bed. And sleeper couch in there the bathroom in the breakfast room still has the tub and shower then the breakfast itself wasn’t that great it was toast bagels cereal in a cereal dispenser . Then when they finally updated the breakfast room to the current look now you can’t tell where it was and the breakfast has gotten better one of the motel staff name Mrs Gail has seen the changes over the years. We have stayed there for years I’m 30 and I can remember being young and basically growing up with the motel through the years.

    Have you noticed if any of the hotels are going back to cleaning the rooms daily? We stay at Creekstone Inn the entire week last week...all they will do is put fresh towels, toilet paper and coffee. They will not touch anything else...will not make up the bed...take out trash...clean commode. We spent most of our spare time on the phone, asking when we would get our room serviced...5:00...room hasn't been touched. After 4 nights, I asked for fresh sheets...nope....would only do it "for additional fee"....was told they only tidy the rooms...I asked would they ever go back to pre COVID ways...was told no...this was now the new normal....been staying here for years but thinking maybe it's time to move on...tired of sitting around with garbage spilling over onto the floor...

    • @SmokyMountainFamily
      @SmokyMountainFamily  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Single-handedly the most annoying aspect of lodging held over from Covid. Many places still have policies that don’t allow for daily cleaning. From some conversations we’ve had it seems they are citing staffing as the culprit. Thanks so much for watching Sheila!

      @@SmokyMountainFamily it’s all over. We spent a couple of days in Columbus GA last month after my grandson graduated from basic at Ft Benning. He had a 4 day pass after that. Anyway, they don’t clean either unless you ask. They will give you fresh towels and necessities. I had asked them to vacuum my room because my little children (still raising little ones at my age) had spilled some stuff. And they were going to do that. Up until then they hadn’t taken the trash out either. If hotels aren’t going to clean then they need to have broom vacs or something in rooms or let you check one out from the office. I’m a neat freak even on vacation. Lol!

    I would literally stay ANYWHERE if it had a comfortable (plush) bed. I can’t possibly comprehend why hotels (even the fancier ones) think they need to search the earth for the firmest mattresses they can find.

Alot of hotels, even resorts need updating, yet, cost of materials, never mind labor, is stupid insane. For the price and location as well as all the “decent/good” reviews, we ended up staying here this past weekend. It was….. conflicting. Price was great. Workers were super nice. Wifi was Horrible and our feet were BLACK even just getting out of the shower to walk to the bed. I wiped down the whole floor with a towel and it was filthy filthy. The bedding was fine. Sheets were clean. Comforter was cheaply made/stained. But sufficed. Bathroom was very moldy mildewy smelling.. there was an ant infestation, they were treating rooms for, beds sounded like a tin can when you moved around and weren’t the most comfortable to say the least. Now, I’m not picky. I can rough it. Last time I came to Pigeon Forge we car camped and I was perfectly happy. If that gives you an idea of my judgement. I’d say if you’re really on a budget, it works. It does the trick. But even though I’m cheap and much rather spend the money on the experience while we’re on vacation….if I can find a place that is a little pricier next time, and better in regard to cleanliness I’d actually rather spend the extra.
    That, or bring my own cleaning supplies next time and just not expect to be able to use wifi. 🙃

    Hello Smoky mountain family from Columbus Ohio.. this is the place I stay every time I come to pigeon Forge. It's within walking distance to the island. The staff is great.. one of the other cons is their Wi-Fi sucks.. as long as you stay in building one and two you have Wi-Fi.. if you don't you're out of luck.. and if you can post pictures on your cell phone with all the people that are on the phone system good luck on that too.. I was down there 2 weeks ago on Sunday night.. during off-season they are a great deal on their prices.. but during peak season and rod run.. those rooms are not worth $200 a night 😭😭😭

    I never understood why someone would put carpet near the hot tub or in the bathroom. Looks like the carpet needs to be updated but that's an easy fix. Plus they need to get rid of all the carpet near the hot tub and bathrooms lol. Loving Keegan's shark feet, and the pool area looks nice.
