- An Armed Uprising is currently underway in Russia's Dagestan Oblast, spanning an area over several hundred square miles, with major firefights occurring in most major cities within the area. Russian Rosguardia forces and Special forces have been mobilized to deal with the uprising. Gunfire can be heard in an endless stream as the separatists and the government fight for control of the cities. Meanwhile Ukraine hit Sevastopol overnight with ATACMS. Another Ship is sinking off the Aden Gulf due to Houthi strikes.

I crossed the interior of Dagistan in 2018, it is Islamic like Chechnya, but very rural and mountainous, some villages are tribal-like, and lots of military check points.
I bet they are conscripting heavily and people are tired of all the men dying.
That's an interesting angle on this
Yes, there have been protest in Dagestan because of the conscription last year. From what I know, the people there aren't very keen on supporting the ruzzian aggression as they feel oppressed themselves.
Tired of Ork shennanigans? Already? Lol
Isn't Chechnya also very mountainous, rural and tribal in that regard?
My friend who spent time there said the culture is very feudal, with a lot of clans having conflicts with each other.

Chechens are clan people. Kadyrov's clan made a deal with the Russians to put him in power, but the other clans haven't forgotten. What Chechens have always been famous for is never forgiving an offence and showing up with hundreds of relatives at the home of anyone who offends one of them. They were never known as fighters or warriors. They're more like gangsters.

An armed break up of Russia was something that was discussed last year. There is a possibility that this is going to spread to other areas.
@@mainsidequest5203 A big question of if they will be succesful though. So far it seems there are a couple attacks on local law enforcement by small groups of armed men. They don't claim any territory, so at best they are a guerilla force. At worst they are little more than a nuisance
Once one of these areas begins to gain success it will snowball to other areas. The best would be if the breakouts were all over simultaneously, then the imperial overlords wouldn't be able to respond.
@@etmax1Uh, the Response would be PAINFUL. Don't Underestimate. Putin is No BIDEN😒
@@osamawilliams9042 Don't worry, I am aware of that. I only offered the least painful way out. It you have small uprisings here and there at a rate that putler can deal with it will go on forever, however if it breaks out everywhere those with less stomach for it are more likely to join in and add their mass to the equation making success for putler less likely. This will also weaken the resolve of those in putler's forces with less stomach for it resulting in them either switching sides or dropping out of the equation. There's a saying "no pain = no gain" and while some might say that it's easy for me to say being on the outside, history has proven time and again that what I'm saying is how it plays out.
@@osamawilliams9042 Most of Putin's forces are occupied in Ukraine though. Fighting insurgencies with a small force is next to impossible, since the insurgents know the terrain better and are not a uniformed military. Identifying and locating them is difficult, so you have to occupy and protect potential targets, while the rebels only have to find one weakness in your defences at a time.

Of course they will because its probably true.
Follow the money.
It is weird to me, that based on this report, most of the fighting is happening in and around religious places rather than government centers, armories, and C3I sites.
That's because it's a Islamic religious uprising. Not purely a political one. The SYNAGOGUE was torched and the JEWISH AND CHRISTIANS are more than likely hostages.
The fact that in an area that, to my admittedly sketchy knowledge, is predominantly muslim, the building they show us burning is a synagogue gives us pause. Apparently, burning a house of god is a priority and takes precedence over destroying actual military targets during an insurrection. I wonder what Sun Zu would have to say about that?
In any well-planned revolt, you first take out the government’s military, then establish control over the population, and then and only then do you persecute religious minorities you find distasteful. In the case of muslims, that would be all other religions but Judaism in particular.
Dagestan is one of the poorest parts of Russia and a predominantly Muslim republic. Be careful how you characterise this - it’s almost certainly the actions of terrorists, not an armed political uprising.
You know this how, or are just spreading Russian counter information?
@@darb4091 If you read my post properly you’ll see the point in making is that we DON’T know what’s going on and should be careful how we characterize this until we have more info.

How to recognize propaganda:
1) When given a problem, fear rather than reason is used to present the solution.
2) When you're pressured into accepting the solution.
3) When you're not allowed to question the solution.
4) When the solution involves surrendering your freedoms.
5) When your eyes see one thing, but you are compelled to believe a different thing.
6) When the solution means giving small groups of people control over larger and larger things.
7) When dissenters are censored for refusing to accept the solution.
8) When dissenters are targeted by accusations from different sources, suddenly and all at once. Ttttttttt.

The Egyptians should go into Yemen themselves. Historically Egypt has done this in the past. Let them go in and do what needs to be done, with no handwringing over the what happens.
I heard there wasn't hostages taken the people locked himself in the building and chose to keep from being in the way
If its a separatisticly motivated action, why would they storm a church and a synagogue?
Opportunity. Religious fanaticism is their life.
A person can both be a separatist AND a Muslim terrorist at the same time. I'm not pro-Putin but we shouldn't necessarily be rooting for these guys.
No firefight, just a wedding ceremony. (Russian TV) 🤫
This uprising is also anti-semitism motivated, because it's happened in the past. Some countries asked Russia to protect Jews and Christians in this area, and now it starts again. Russia vs Islam, that is an interesting turn of events, given the Little Tzar's position at the moment, because it makes him look weak.
Um, if the Egyptians are concerned about the loss of revenue, why do they not themselves respond to the Houthi attacks and apply either political or military pressure against the Houthi's to get them to stop? This is not a completely "western" problem.
