      Do you know of a Customer service number to get in contact with a person? The yellow piece that clamps to the tent broke and their giving the run around on getting that part after they said it was covers in the warrant for the 1st year. I’m just really disappointed.

    My concern is the roof collecting rain in pools. How does it shed rain if it's not angled? Seems like a construction flaw and this is only a sun/mosquito tent, not for rain.

    Every thing I did wrong I re-watched your video to get corrected. Two things I would add. The rain fly in the latest version of the tent will help with water protections. The tent itself does leak at the seams without the rain fly. Also not in the bag is a tarp to lay underneath the tent. Tarps are rarely included with any tents...but are needed to help block water from seeping in from the bottom of the tent and protect from the Carsule from punctures from rock, roots, and limbs. Finally from experience, setting up a chair or table inside the tent will need something to protect chair legs from puncturing the bottom of the Carsule. Due to insects I've been using the Carsule standalone since it greatly blocks mosquitoe s with all 4 walls closed with netting left closed.

      Ed is correct in saying that it needs a tarp underneath; otherwise known as a footprint. I wonder if the mystery "material" in the bag isn't supposed to serve as a footprint. Without one, pinhole leaks are likely to appear in the floor from rough surfaces on the ground; sticks and small rocks, etc.

      Ed, we use linoleum floor scaps both inside and outside to protect our floors on the pop-up tents. They're also good at protecting inflatable beds. The store gave us a lot of scraps for free. We also bought some discontinued flooring because we wanted a giant sized piece for the picnic table and sitting area to protect people's feet.
      They really help a lot. Easy to transport and move around. Home Depot has giant zip ties that are great to keep them rolled tight and used for carrying handles.
      Last year we saw multiple people copying our idea outside their RV doors. Stake them so they don't curl or slide. In direct sun, they can get too hot for bare feet. Turn them over and the underneath is not colored. Barely noticeable.

      Thanks for the great video guys!
      The tarp on the ground and carpet inside for protecting the floor I would think is a must.

The manufactures and distributors of this product owe you a commission... ...because if not for your user-friendly video, I'd not have decided to invest in the pop-up cabin (Moreover, not one cabin, but two). Can't imagine why the instructions for set-up and take down are not available on the advertiser's site, but you folks saved the day. Your presentation was simple, pleasant and entertaining-- and and the camera work//sound quality is worthy of an award for the "Best In Steady Hands, Proper Angles And Great Audio." The forethought and detail you put into your piece was awesome-- Not one aspect of it confusing or frustrating, start to finish. Cannot imagine anyone would have a question you did not address. being a radio ham I like to go out using portable operation, to be honest I really don't like too much messing about, I have to set up table, chairs, radio and antenna before I do anything else, I must admit this comes closest so far to what I am looking for and six minutes you say? that's cool to me. It's a little bit bigger than what I am looking for as cars over here in the UK are predominantly smaller than in the US so it would take up a lot of space in my boot (trunk) when I go out but I do see definate advantages to the bigger tent, thanks for the video it is very much appreciated

    Try gluing a plastic hook or some velcro to the interior back hatch of your car. This will let you have a barrier for the straps to engage with. It should keep it from sliding off. With the velcro I'd set it up as layers so that you can position the tent straps in between layers of velcro to also help keep it from sliding off. I think the plastic on the tailgate/hatch of your car is too slick for the straps to stay in place.

    I want to comment on the wind but first, Great video, thank you for doing a one person set up/take down. I have had mine for nearly two years now, and I find the poles challenging, as well as folding it back up. It is NOT intuitive. I live in the Mojave desert, and set it up stand alone in my yard for six weeks in late summer, so I could sleep under the stars. It does fine in windy conditions! Maybe no 40 mph winds, but that would be asking a lot of any tent. As long as it is tied down, it is sturdy. When I can’t use tent pegs, I have 20 lb weights that I use, and they work great. In many the parts of the desert, tent stakes do not stay in the sandy ground by themselves! I use a peg, then put the weight on top. They supply a rolled up thing that is supposed to act as a prop in the center of the roof to make a peak for rain run off, but it doesn’t work very well. I am a single woman nearing 60, btw. The CORE instant tent is much easier to set up, but the straight sides on this one make it more practical and roomy.

My suv is lifted with 35” tires so the bumper is 27” off the ground. How tall is the bottom section of the carsule that fits over the bumper? Is it a relatively tight fit so that bugs can’t get in and a cat can’t get out?

    Hello, I enjoyed your video. I am looking for such a tent for my 2006 Highlander Limited. After seeing thereof flap as it does I would like to know how you think it would do in a Florida thunderstorm with heavy rain and a good wind. I see that it comes with a rain fly. Could you please do a video on that, pretty please.
    A thought on you hatchback...is there a place for a "S" hook in your latch area. If so you could utilize that as a place to hook your strap to.

    • @PeteGabbyTravel
      @PeteGabbyTravel  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Richard, thanks so much for your compliment! 😊 I'll take a look at the S hook area and see if it'll work.
      We would definitely like to test it in rain/thunder, as we haven't been in those conditions yet! We live in Upstate New York, so right now it's packed away as it's 10 degrees outside 😂 But come summer we'll definitely make sure to set it up in the rain and see how it holds, as that's been a very common question!
      If you have Instagram, you could also message the company @hellomogics and see if they have feedback on that. They're very responsive. We're not sponsored (although we wish we were!), So if you do message them just let them know you saw our video and that'd be a huge help for us!

    Great review and excellent video! I was looking at this very tent and was not sure if I would be able to set up/take down by myself. One (maybe two 😀) questions, do you have to attach the strap to the back hatch door? I would like to sleep with my door closed, is there another way to secure to top of the tent to the top of the car? Thank you again for your video.

    • @PeteGabbyTravel
      @PeteGabbyTravel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thank you so much for the compliment! I haven't tried it, but I do think in theory you could sleep with the trunk closed while leaving the Carsule setup.
      The Carsule secures to the car with the magnets and the trunk strap. If you just did the magnets you should be able to close the trunk! You might just have to hop back outside once its closed and rearrange the magnets to make sure they are tight and secure.
      I hope that answers your questions! If not just let us know and we'll try to be more clear lol

      That was my question, and thinking more about this I would also stake the tent, leave the cooler or other item in tent to weigh it down and leave opposite closures open a bit to allow wind flow (in case the weather changes overnight.) Overkill? This is the best solution I have seen for my little Forester. Thank you for the video.

    I love that this van tent looks so easy & fast to put up. I am a senior solo camper so that is very important to me. I am wondering how tight it attached below the tailgate to keep out bugs, etc. And not sure those magnets make a tight enough attachment that doesn't slide around & let bugs in? But other than that, really liking it. What is size inside tent? Finally, where can I order it from?

      Also a snr solo camper, and am looking to replace my standard tent, which is bulky & heavy to load and unload from the car. I have a different tailgate tent which doesn't come with magnets, so I bought some from a hardware store to hold it close in to the curves a) stop the wind from getting under & making in flap and b) close off insect gaps. I started with cheap ones for proof of concept , and now have some stronger rubberised ones (takes a good slide and flip technique to get them off!) so if you get this tent and find it doesn't fit close enough, it is easy to supplement with more magnets. Unfortunately my SUV tent is suitable for "good" weather only, so interested in people who have used this one in wind and rain ...

    Great video and explanation! However, it is a cube, and the roof is flat, when in rainy weather how does rain/downpour drain off the top? Also, it may "pool" water on top of the roof even though the string tension is installed?

    • @PeteGabbyTravel
      @PeteGabbyTravel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you so much for the nice comment! So unfortunately we haven't been out in a heavy rainstorm yet, so I'm not sure exactly how it would hold up in terms of "pooling". The ceiling is pretty taut when the strings in there, and worst case I could see just pushing the roof up from the inside to let the water drain off. But if we end up getting caught in a storm we'll let you know how it went!

      Thanks for the nice comment! We haven't used this in strong winds yet. My guess is that it would do pretty well, as the cube shape makes it sturdy on its own. It also includes ropes and stakes to tie it down, and there's another tie-down that attaches to the trunk.

    Sorry to comment again but I am seriously considering buying this and using it as a stand alone since it meets most of my requirements. In the wind this would blow over even if it did not become unmoored from the ground unless it has places to attach guy lines higher up on the edges of the tent . Are there loops for guy lines that are higher up than the ones where you insert the stakes ? Also , can replacement tent poles be purchased ?

    • @PeteGabbyTravel
      @PeteGabbyTravel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No worries! Happy to help:)
      So there aren't loops on the top for guy lines, usually it's the "hood" that connects to the trunk that helps to keep it stable. In our newest video when we camped in it it got a little windy at night but was perfectly stable. That being said, we haven't had it set up by itself in the wind without being attached to the car.
      In terms of replacement poles I think it'd be best to contact the company! Their Instagram is @hellomogics. We've talked with them a lot through that channel so they're very responsive and helpful.
      I hope this helps!
