  • We decided to test out our new SUV car camping setup with the Mogics Carsule! The Carsule is a pop-up tent that attaches to the back of your vehicle and creates a lot of extra space to move, eat, and sleep in. It's a great way to turn your SUV into an adventure vehicle at a reasonable price.
    While on our camping adventure, we give a tour of our SUV car camping setup with the materials we used to "convert" our car. Here's what we used!
    Gear Mentioned:
    Mogics Carsule: amzn.to/3iI2B0g
    Eureka Ignite Stove: www.eurekacamp...
    WeatherTech Custom Shields: www.weathertec...
    Mattress: amzn.to/3Lmwdg8

    Thanks for sharing your set up and experience. I have just ordered some Weathertech shades (how cool are they!). I hadn't realised such a thing existed so am super grateful to you! Hi Kristy, thank you so much for your nice comment! We really appreciate it! Yeah the WeatherTech shields are sick and we were pumped when we found them.
      We're planning on filming a full setup video on the Carsule soon. It's not too windy this week where we are, but we will show how to brace it for the wind (it includes ropes and stakes). We're going to do some more camping videos with it too throughout the late summer/fall so you can see it there as well!

    I love this little tent, it would be perfect for me, size wise, but for a senior citizen on a fixed income it is a bit pricey. That, and the fact that you can’t find them lol.

    • @STho205
      @STho205 ปีที่แล้ว

      These are China pump and dumps. They make a lot of them, market them hard for one season, put them on clearance the next off season, then you never see them again with the same name....but you might with another name.
      If you obtain an 8' or 7' tall regular dome or tunnel tent with a rear door, you can clip it to your open tailgate with a $10 tarp and some strong clips and magnets.
      If you only have a one door dome tent, just open the back with a knife and tape off the raw edges with with gorilla tape. Then connect it to your car/truck.

    Came for info on the tent, and found your review useful. Now we have questions on the mattress you are using. How thick is it? Did you get one custom for the vehicle or find one and cut to size? And where did you get it, either way? Thanks!

    • @PeteGabbyTravel
      @PeteGabbyTravel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for the comment! We're glad you found our video helpful. We got a generic one that happened to fit in the vehicle. I just measured the length/width of the trunk and picked the size that best fit it! It's not a completely perfect fit but it's almost there and very comfortable.
      Here's the exact mattress we purchased:

    Can you close the door to your SUV (if you want to go hiking, for instance) while keeping the Carsule set up?

    • @PeteGabbyTravel
      @PeteGabbyTravel  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes you can! It can be closed up into its own free standing cube.
      So if we left for supplies, we'd just take the magnets off the flap, zip up that back side, and we're good to go. It does also come with extra tie downs and stakes in case you leave it alone and it's windy.
      In theory you could use it as a tent on its own. Maybe we'll have to try that sometime!

It is great for a back up to the beach or backup to a neat camping spot...and if you have a Tesla, you can Air Condition or Heat the tent without running a mother. Which we could have one that was double insullated for the mountain country.
