There must be a better way for those 2 straps. Thanks for the video demonstration which is very helpful. This items seems to be a good price too on the link you listed. It looks like you won't be able to open your doors the way you have attached the strap that attaches to the top front of your vehicle. I wonder if some magnets could help seal it to the vehicle on the side to close the gaps and keep out the bugs better there. Good Job.
These pop up shelters are unwieldy at times. And the larger they are, the more they are susceptible to damage when trying to fold them. You have to follow the directions when folding them. I have a 4x4x6 shower tent of this type. That is pretty easy. But, I had a 6x6x6 pop up screen room. That one was tougher to handle. Just a heads up. Also, roof center supports seem pretty flimsy. Wonder how well they would hold up in a heavy rain. If those didn’t hold, the unit would probably collapse under the water weight, or possibly even tear.
collapse ? no way, the whole video is about the rods in the roof that make the roof a dome, so how can water stay on the roof ?

I like how the tent sprang open. I wonder how difficult it is to return to it's bag however. The strap being tied down to the door handles is a bad idea. I would suggest a strong magnet or attaching it inside the SUV, then closing the door, as long as the door doesn't crush the buckle.
I didn't like that you couldn't open the doors either.

I wouldn’t want an attached tent,,,, what if a robber or bad person walks up on you?. You couldn’t just get in your car n leave
I agree. Most people prefer to use their van or SUV to have the benefit of being off the ground and dry. But, more importantly, it offers them more security than a tent. So, for sleeping, you have the higher level of security in your vehicle. But, during the daytime, the tent does offer you the added room and protection from bugs, blistering sun or inclement weather without having to be confined to the cramped space in your vehicle when those situations arise. So, for those purposes, I can see the value.
lol, what country you live in so these things comes to your mind at first? :D Also you can use tent ground hooks and not attach it to the car, even the tailgate doesnt have to be opened

This thing alone dont work well when it rains and stormy weather. You need tarps under and properly tied fly sheet above. And I would never tie it down to my car, just using few strings with magnets to attach the flap coz you never know when you have to leave for emergency and leave your tent. I am using a much better version called Carsule.
And when it rains the water runs down the car roof right in😂

yeah ... I bought the "cube" tent a couple of years ago. it was nice, but even with the "rain fly", IT LEAKED!!!! so, I almost sold it... but I thought it may work under my car awning. I cut the metal bands out... and just used clamps to attach it to the awning rods. The awning makes it waterproof and the cube holds down the awning in the wind!!! works great for my car camping.
