It's a very good light effect, as used in many 'flame effect' electric fires (but without a heater unit): basically it is 4 orange LED lights and a water vapour emitter (a larger version of the smoke-effect units now found in model locos). They are so realistic now that they are often used in films and TV, rather than having a 'live' fire on set (which, quite aside from the fire risk, are an absolute nightmare from a continuity perspective).
