A while since we filmed the video (2022) but we did pop in again last year. Lovely people and we would like to catch up with them all again. Thanks for watching Rick
One of the best model stores in the UK. I work in Europe, and when I go home I try and visit this store, all ways friendly and willing to help, with fantastic stock levels. I would reamend this store to any new models and old models.
Goin To A Train Shop is The Perfect Place To Spend Time And Money. And is a great Place to Meet and Greet New people. Talk About Trains getting ideas of how And What to do. That’s what I am Talking About.
I’m not into this hobby but I like it and mainly, it makes me happy to see it still going. What an awesome shop! So many items to see that I’m sure it’s a blast for hobbyists
Hi Scott, yes long me these shops remain! They are what we need and understand it's the whole experience that people love. Cheers for watching Rick. ☮️🚂😀
Good to see a model shop. Most model shops are gone in Bristol. There is one general model shop in central Bristol. The people of Norwich are very fortunate to have such a shop. Best wishes Paul.
Hi Paul, quite a few regions seem to have lost their shops don't they. We have lost a few in the North West but luckily we still have several so we are relatively spoiled. GEM is a very good shop and is doing very well. Cheers Rick. ☮️🚂😀
Living in Suffolk, Lowestoft, there is Parrs and great eastern. These are the best model shops around, everyone has time for the customer. Superb shops. These are the mainstream shops, and they don’t have websites. I love their Ethos.
Hi Paul, I'm not familiar with Parr's but Great Eastern was a joy to visit. We are hopefully going back to Norfolk in a few months and we will definitely be paying them a visit. Cheers Rick ☮️🚂😀
What a wonderful model railway shop! It’s nice to see a family shop pass down to the next generation. Anne and Helen are very nice to talk to and have all their stock displayed so well. Great interview Pauline! The video of the stock was great too, Rick. I liked how you displayed one area for a while as you talked about the models. There was a nice 4-4-2 tank engine there that I liked the look of. I think that they are SR, unfortunately as I am more interested in Northern Regions. Still I could easily be persuaded to buy one of those and give it a lick of LMS Crimson! I love the try-out track that you tested your purchase on. As a kid I could have lived in that shop and I haven’t changed much either! I would need to set aside a full day to peruse it all 😀. What a great holiday you’ve had! Thank you for sharing your model shop visit with us!Well done 👍🏼. Best wishes. 🚂🛤☮️
Hi Arthur, thanks for watching the shop is great isn't it. Thanks for taking the time to comment and Pauline thanks you for liking the interview she did. It was a great shop to film being so well laid out. The SR tank engine was nice and I would like to get one even though like you i prefer LMS. We filmed another video in Norfolk which is out on Sunday and I hope you like that as well. Thanks for watching and take care Rick.☮️🚂😀
It's lovely to see the shop getting the recognition it deserves, I've done my own video on it around Christmas time on my first ever visit and Anne and Helen are very friendly sort, I try to come visit them at least once a month, lovely video as always guys 👍
This is another brill video, im not really one for the larger stores Like Hattons and Rails , i know Hattons has now gone but to be honest they were just out for business not the freindliest of people to deal with i found. I have never bought from these guys but its nice to know they seem nice and value their customers.
Hi Ken, it's a great shop and they are really nice people to deal with and very knowledgeable. They take an amazing amount of pride in their shop and really value their customers. Thanks for watching Rick
She wasn't when we met but she has taken an interest in it. She loves the scenery on layouts and looks at things in a different way to me which makes for a better video. Thanks for watching and all the best Rick. ☮️🚂😀
Hi Tim, we were on holiday in Norfolk for the week, we also filmed a video at Wroxham Miniature World which has some fab layouts. It will be out on Sunday. All the best Rick ☮️🚂😀
@@wellchuffedrailways next time let us know and you may be able to have a night at our club here in norwich, or we have our exhibition at easter every year
Great video, we have very little by way of model shops in Oxford, a website would be great for those of us whom live hundreds of miles away, maybe reconsider for the future or get on ebay.
Hi, there is a link to their website, Facebook page and a Facebook trading group in the video description. This is constantly updated so you might find this useful. Cheers for watching and all the best Rick. ☮️🚂😀
What a fantastic shop so well set up plenty of lovely stock at decent prices ,the 47 was a definitely a bargain it has a good quality fleichmann motor plus the headcodes should light up 👍
Hi Ciaran, the motors are great aren't they, much better than the later Ringfield. Both headcodes light up as well which is nice! Cheers for watching. Rick ☮️🚂😀
Hi Ciaran, yes I remember that video it was very informative. Barry was one of the first TH-camrs I watched (and still do) he's great isn't he. Cheers Rick ☮️🚂😀
Hi, I don't know, the best thing is to give them a ring. They have probably added a whole range of models since we visited. They have a number of Facebook groups you can contact them via.
The little green engine, no not Percy, you referred to as a Pug was actually a Peckett, unless you called it that as a generic term for and 0-4-0 shunter. Pug's were ex-Caledonian/Lancashire and Yorkshire/LMS shunters
Are you not afraid the model railway hobby is dieing out ,with all the prices going sky high with bachmann and Hornby as an oap I find it very hard to finance the hobby any more Forty pounds for a box van is a total rip off from bachmann, shame on them,
Hi Jo, no not really as everyone has different budgets. There are plenty of products around at reasonable prices and most shops have a good selection of used stock. There are well detailed wagons available for a lot less than £40 pounds, £40 is way out of my budget! There are a lot of youngsters getting into railway modelling who we meet at shows and fairs and they are using these to find decent products at reasonable prices. Someone did a comparison and taking inflation into account prices are not that different to £40 years ago! Don't tell anyone but I have never bought a new loco? All the best Rick 🚂🚂☮️😀
@@wellchuffedrailways I beg to differ on your prices Hornby sentinel two years ago seventy five pounds, today that same engine with a new respray over a hundred pounds, if you watch the reviews on here Hornby are getting a lot of complaints about poor quality and faulty locos it seems China don't do quality control to well, even toyfairs have jumped on the band wagon and started putting there price's up another example heljan hymek last year a hundred twenty pounds now over a hundred sixty pounds and all because heljan have fitted led lights ,
Hi Jo, hopefully Hornby will get their quality control sorted as it's really not helping their reputation. As regards pricing I hope increased completion had an effect. All the best Rick 🚂☮️😀
This shop lives up to its name - it really is GREAT Eastern with two of the nicest ladies you could hope to meet. I thoroughly recommend this shop.
We couldn't put it better ourselves. 😀
This is my loco shop in Norwich for model railways. Great staff. Anne, Helen, Rob and other staff.. and a large range. Nice video. Thanks AaronVille

Nice tour of Great Eastern Models, have heard about them for a while but haven't visited.
Thanks Simon, it was nice to visit them, have a chat and of course buy something! Cheers for watching Rick ☮️🚂😀

Bit of a long jaunt to go to a model shop for you guys! They were very accommodating to some youtubers, but then they are getting some great P.R!
