Lae'zel is very theatrical in your gestures. She speaks with her voice and with the body. This collaborates a lot to entertain her strong and dynamic personality. The opposite of Shadowheart, which has more cynical dialogues and a more rigid body posture. Great job from Laurien so far.

He thinks she is Neera from the Enhanced Editions of Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 because they both have pink hair and they are wild mages. The only difference between them is Neera was a half-elf, Delina is a moon elf.
The best way to imagine Lae'zel is think of someone who grew up in a religious fundamentalist family with no exposure to the outside world. She has been inculcated with a rigid sense of what is right and what is wrong. Now she's been thrown into a world that doesn't share the ways of her people and defaults to her only real way of looking at the world. It's going to take a lot to get her to realize that the ways of the Githyanki may not work for societies besides her own. The fact she's willing to work with you at all shows a sense of pragmatism behind the mask of a zealot.
She's very... hard to deal with, and doesn't have a shred of a romantic bone in her whole body. I'm curious how her character will change through the course of the game if the player continues to deepen the relationship with her. This was a great video. Keep up the good work, Wolf!

For me it looks like Vlaakith did sell the Gith to Tiamat in exchange for red dragons and knowledge how to become immortal and Vlaakith CLVII is a lich but also all the previous Vlaakith as she was using necromancy magic all that time to reborn into a new body before she was able to become a lich. That is how I see that plot :)
The only weapon Gith are usually mad to find is one of their silver swords...Neverwinter nights 2 Baldur's Gate 2 both of these games have a Githyanki group looking for a silver sword
I remember hearing a conversation between Shadowheart and Lae'Zel where the topic was punishment. Lae'Zel said that murder was okay because it culls the weak, but theft was worse. If her society says she isn't part of the community until she brings back a Mindflayer head, isn't she seen as the weak that needs to be culled if she gets infected by one? Why would they waste resources saving Gith who got infected if they're okay with murder? I think Lae'zel works because she's isn't much worse than your other companions. All your companions are selfish/out for themselves (except maybe Gale), and Lae'zel is simply the extreme of that. She's also the most fun to tease because her reactions are genuine.
"then again can you trust any of the companions" this always comes to mind with my loner ranger who for some reason always manages to make companions almost everywhere he goes despite his efforts to be left alone, he almost cant help but want to make sure these weirdos are helped as well.

okay but hear me out. If i remember correctly to remove a mindflayer it is possible the host needs to have their head destroyed then revived with true resurrection. Would it count if she destroyed her own head, got revived and was cured of the mind flayer parasite? would she pass her test that way by preemptively killing herself then trusting us (or someone else) to revive her.
Hey Wolfheart. A random video for this comment. I just wanted to suggest an idea that you could use for some content, if that fits you obviously ;). Whenever I play an RPG I try to listen to lore videos (usually short) about each monster or faction I encounter. Right now replaying BG2 and listening to lore vids about Rakshasas (?), oozes, vampires etc. Thought that maybe you could do short vids about each monster encountered in BG3 EA (either a few, or 1 for each monster even). I think you'll do it very well. Later on ofc you could do it for the whollllle finished game but that would probably take years and years and you'd rather focus on bigger lore stuff and builds. Just my thoughts/suggestions/what I'd like to see as a fan of yours. Cheers man. 🎉 edit: check SteelySam's (I think) TH-cam channel's short maybe.

No option to tell her we have one available for her (a dead mindflayer that is) to accomplish this? (The one we encounter along with the fishermen. And then later on even another one, already dead, at the goblins' camp.) I mean, I'd get it if she rejected this and said she meant the head figuratively, and they'll check if she did the kill (or that she has honour and wants to be done one doing it), but no option to offer at all? Plus she could've been (possibly) with us when we killed it, so... in that case she technically did do/assist the kill. We're a team, I want to get her that coveted promotion xD
I'm frankly not in love with any of the companions, but I guess she and shadoweart are my favorites. Gale is just too generic and Blade is just... I dunno, sounds like a bag of air with his whole hero story. Dude's lv 1, who he thinks he's fooling?

There’s a ton of lore behind why this is. The young red dragons are ordered by their queen to serve Githyanki until they come of age. A deal was made in the past with the leader of the Gith and Tiamat the queen of dragons
I think most people base their judgements on these companions on whether or not they would like them in "real life". This is natural to do, and I do it myself. I would of course not like Laezel if she was real. As a developing character though, I think she's great (even if she ends up evil) and I am very interested in where the game will take her!
@@WolfheartFPS nah my dislike goes to the heart of my D&D belief system. I am core old school D&D races, dwarves, elves, humans, halflings, gnomes, etc player. I was never a fan when they added additional races like dragonborn etc. no matter how they explained the lore. Call me the "Get off my grass" old guy. :) I get why they did but I don't have to like it ..
I really think the story has a massive plothole when your group meets the Githyanki patrol. If the search for the "weapon" is of such massive importance for the Githyanki Knight, he wouldn't have left the scene, before he had ensured that the job is done. Having trusting minions is nice, but when it comes to things really important, you should do the job yourself, right? Heck, you can even show the Dragon Rider the very object he is looking for so desperatly and he will leave the imminent combat. All he need to do, was to order his Red Dragon to breath fire on your group and take the object out of your not so cold hands. In my oppinion, if the conversation went sideways by revealing that you have been on the Nautiloid or even showed the device to him, you should be prompted to the load last save screen.

How did Lae'Zel end up on the Mindflayer ship? Was she one of the ones attacking? When and where did the Mindflayer ship grab a Gith?

This scene may change when the game comes out. Some things are placeholders to end the content and not allow us to see/ experience more.
