i know my version of Drizzt is wrong, but i dont care! to me, its more of a sound, think... the sound a fishing line makes when cast or a bumblebee? - then add a t' to the end of that sound. in my head, thats how its said.
My first book was the crystal shard and I was in junior high school.. I just told you how old I am lol ha ha.. the only thing I have is a campfire story of a handful of friends killing a dragon.. I would love to put something like that and with the forgotten realms.. unfortunately I don't want to stop on someone else's work.. someone else's campaigns.. I definitely don't want to step on Mr Salvatore's work.. man I can see it now if my characters ran into some of his characters like drizzt.. I'm not even too sure how I would do something like that..it just a short story..
Considering the heavy presence of mind flayers, I would love to see Jarlaxle and Kimmuriel make an appearance. Two of the most interesting characters, along with Yvonnel and Bruenor, in my opinion.
R A Salvatore owns the creative rights to Drizzt. He profusely refuses to allow current Hollywood producers and directors to bastardize the greatest hero Ferun has ever known. This is a direct quote from one of the very few interviews I have found about him. He is by far my favorite fantasy novelist. But until a Hollywood producer and/or director manages to wow him, he won't allow any movies made about his beloved creation. Besides, who would we get to play such a fantastical character? I've seen some pretty amazing actors do some outstanding action scenes, but who could pull that off and still maintain a humble demeanor? Hollywood would strip out anything controversial about Drizzt, and this in and of itself would butcher his back story and even in his current lore. Anti-government and a man who could defeat a God? It'd be difficult to find the right actor. Then we have to overcome the controversial debate of "black face." Which I find ridiculous to bring up, but I have to as Downey Jr. pulled it off in Tropic Thunder without being canceled, but let's not forget the Wayne's Brothers pulling off "white face" in White Chick's. It is best to let the legacy of such an extraordinary person remain on books and lore. Maybe one day we will get a live action film of him, but that probably won't happen as long as Salvatore has anything to say on it. He is an extraordinary character, and I feel no current actor could ever do the justice that is Drizzt.
Specially with the current culture of USA and race swapping everything....bastardizing everything.. Maybe the dawn of the AI will give us some amazing individuals to make stuff happen. @@tubittrigun7823
I'm somewhat of a Drizztologist. I took my love for the novels up to eleven and they were the focus of both my BA in English/American Literature (Evolution of RAS writing throughout the Legend of Drizzt series) and my MA in Translation Studies (Translation of modern fantasy literature based on Gauntlgrym). I even got the honor of exchanging a few emails with RAS himself during that time and he really is as loveable a guy as he seems in all the interviews. As such, thank you, Wolfheart for your video, it brought back a lot of good memories. Currently I'm waiting for the most recent series to be fully released as I'm not fond of mid-trilogy cliffhangers and prefer to binge-read those. While I do not necessarily need Drizzt in BG3, he'd certainly would be a most welcome cameo.
I've been waiting several months since finishing Starlight Enclave, and I can tell you. RA really outdid himself with the cliffhanger this time. No spoilers, but that is a fact. lol
@@happythoughts700 Hmmm, there are really 2 ways to build him. I will make a detailed description for both but I'll also add TL;DR at the end if you want to skip just to the build. One option is just using his main class he's most known for, so Ranger. Probably Beast Master on account of Guenhwyvar, but any BG3 spec fits (more on that later). Alas, panthers are not available as companions in BG3, but he did befriend a bear named Bluster in the past. A full Ranger with dual weapons (scimitars preferably) is viable. As for favourite enemy, I'd say Keeper of the Veil or Mage Breaker, he's been known to fight many fiends and evil mages alike so he's quite proficient at both. On account of his Icingdeath weapon, I'd flavour in the Wastelander with Fire resistance, though Beast Tamer also fits. However, if we really look into him, Drizzt is a triple classer, well, quadruple really, but with 12 levels 3 is already a lot and monk skillset is just a recent addition so not many old fans, who've stopped following the story are even aware of it. As such let's stay with Fighter/Barbarian/Ranger. Drizzt was raised in the Underdark city of Menzoberranzan and as a drow noble he had to attend Melee Magthere, the fighters' school. He learned the ways of dual scimitars and became a true master at them. To account for that let's give him 5 levels of dex-based Fighter (3 for Battlemaster and combat manouvers, 2 more for second attack just so we don't have to delay it). Of course, two-weapon fighting style. After his escape he lived in the Underdark wilderness alone for years where he developed a rage-like state called Hunter (not to be confused with Ranger's subclass of the same name). To account for that we need that Barbarian rage. Now, Drizzt doesn't really fight recklessly even in that state, he's more focused and brutal, but keeps his martial prowess so I don't think he needs Reckless Attack. As such, one level of Barbarian just for the Rage is more than sufficient. Finally we get that Ranger, and again Beast Master would be closest to lore, but both Gloom Stalker and Hunter fit perfectly. He's a master of stealth, especially in complete darkness, so a GS skillset. He also can dish out a lot of damage fast which is right in the Hunter alley (Collossus Slayer probably). I'm tempted to say that without a panther companion we can't get complete accuracy for Beast Master and then Gloom Stalker is the next best option both on account of drow heritage and his life in Underdark where he became a master of ambushing creatures with Darvision (drow and monster alike). TL;DR: Race: Seldarine Drow (he worships Mielikki, not Lolth) Background: Folk Hero or Outlander both fit Drizzt perfectly so pick whichever you like more. Class (pure): Ranger, Beast Master closest to lore but any of the 3 fits for different reasons. My personal pick would be Gloom Stalker as I can never be a happy Beast Master without Guenhwyvar anyway. Two weapons fighting style; Keeper of the Veil or Mage Breaker; Wasteland Wanderer: Fire or Beast Tamer. Class (multi): Fighter (Batttlemaster) 5 two weapons fighting style, Manouvers that you like most, any fit Drizzt's swordsmanship / Barbarian 1 for rage mainly / Ranger maxed. Ranger details as mentioned in the pure option. Bonus: the dream vision. An auburn-haired, blue-eyed, fair-skinned human woman (Catti-Brie).
I played my first D&D game in 1988 and borrowed the 1st 'Silver Streams' novel off a mate the following year and fell in love with the story. Bought and read the whole series and have lost track of the number of other games where I've role played Drizzt or Wulfgar. Such a magical series. Having played all the old Baldur's Gate games (and other D&D PC Games) to death I'd LOVE to see the old crew get a shout out in BG3! I haven't read a Forgotten Realms book in a long long time so had no idea the old team were still kickin about lol. Can't wait to see how it all plays out! Thanks so much for sharing, haven't thought about Drizzt and crew for years, brought a smile to my dial hearing your story :)
Starting Timeless(33), Boundless(34), and Relentless(35), the most recent of the complete trilogies within the Legend of Drizzt. It's crazy to think I've been reading this story my whole life. Absolutely love Salvatore's writing when it's a Drizzt journal entry/monologue. His life is such an emotional rollercoaster. Always a pleasure and a sorrow to read. Wonderful video, Wolf 🐺🐾
Yea I understand! I started reading the books when I was an early teen and there's not a time in life after that where I don't remembering reading them. Military, college, travels in asia etc Drizzt came with me
The "side" books are all worth it too...in particular, Cadderly's books (the Cleric Quintet) fill in a lot for a character who intersects with Drizzt early on and the series Salvatore headed up that is written by a different author each book (all greats in Forgotten Realms) covering all the upheaval in Menzoberrenzan that really helps explain where things have landed with the drow in the most recent Salvatore books (War of the Spider Queen series). You're not near done at 37, dude haha
I think the only good about that game was that they cast Crispin Freeman as Drizzt which was perfect in my opinion. He should voice the character in all future media.
Jarlaxle and Entreri are my favorites. Would be amazing to see them show up in BG3. Sellswords trilogy is one Salvatore series I love going back to every few 6ears
YES - please do a video on the other characters!! I would especially like to see Cattie Brie and Bruenor in BG3. I read the first 3 books a long time ago. I have also read Gauntylgrim but also a long time ago. I really need to go back and start at the beginning again. I listened to the spoilers anyway. I am pretty old, so by the time I actually read them, I will forget again anyway :) This is an amazing video, Wolf. I always enjoy these. Once BG3 comes out, you should narrate one of your play throughs in this manner!
Also yes Drizzt has a two year old in Starlight Enclave and their scenes are the purest things I’ve ever read it’s just a dad playing around with his daughter Drizzt is such a good dad 🥺🥺🥺
@@WolfheartFPS It's a good book with two caveates: I feel like introducing "good pure drow" was unnecessary because of Eilistree's numerous followers (Salvatore does not like Greenwood's work, I gather), and Drizzt having a number of "crisis of faith" moments about whether the gods are real (he's literally met... 2? of them?). But yes, all of Drizzt's scenes with Brie are great
I first read Streams of silver in high school around 1991 or so. It was the book that really got me hooked on fantasy novels and the Forgotten Realms setting in particular. I could not put it down and read it several times back to back. No other book has ever sucked me in like that.
I think we have to see Spider. He is definitely the most traveled of the companions of the hall and most likely, being involved in his organization, will know about the events in BG3 and if Spider knows, Bruenor knows.
Best part about Drizzt in Baldur's Gate 2 is if you play an elf named Drizzt and have a low reputation he'll call you out on it and you end up fighting him because you've harmed his reputation.
Drizzt and friends were a huge help against Bodhi in BG2. Would love to have him back in BG3. Larian would handle him far better than those hacks that made the recent Dark Alliance disaster.
You can also slaughter his whole party for legendary loot (if your party is strong enough, that is). There is also a dialogue option referring to the time you cheesed him in BG1, and he says something along the lines of "Oh, so that was you?"
I mainly want to see Sarevok. That would be cool. He doesn't have to be in the main story, but it would be cool if the game had a path where you could meet him, fight him (again) or maybe even have him join your party.
@@TheCoolerDrilis Yes, but he cheated death in the BG2 expansion. Based on that, it would be easy to invent some deus ex machina reason why he's still in the land of the living 100 years later.
So you got the mindflayers, the gitz and their "allies" the red dragons, denizens of the nine hell's and on top of that throw in the sons of baal. Hah that's fuxkin wild.
A someone that's pretty unfamiliar Drizzt's story, this was incredibly informative :D I personally think it would be really cool to have him make a cameo and see him portrayed in Baldur's Gat 3 :) Thanks as always for another great video!
Thank you so much for your informative video! When I was young, only 4 series(up to Paths of Darkness) was official translated into my first language. I love the story and the characters so much, but it's really hard for me to get in touch with the rest of Drizzt's life. Your video really helped me recalling the story and understanding what was going on. Thank you so much again!
I would love to see Dak'kon, Morte or some other Planescape Torment charachter as easter egg. Plancescape Torment had some of the best NPCs in any RPGs.
Another interesting video. I did not realize there were that many books, I have around 20 of them. I will agree that the first couple of series (Icewind Dale and The Dark Elf Rilogy) are the best and most important.
Thank you so much for this video about Drizzt! In fact, "the one I dream about" is as close to Drizzt as I can get him to be. I even have a screenshot of him on my Steam account and every time I look at him, it's like, I did my best. I did. XD Of course, next time, I'm going to try to make Varric because we can't romance Varric in the DA games that he is in. I love Drizzt so much and had fun playing him on the Xbox for one of the Dark Alliance games. Of course you couldn't change the weapons but it was still so much fun to play him! I even made my high elf coloured like Drizzt and she turned out so much better than my female Drow or "the one I dream about." If they put Drizzt in as a companion, I might start having a gaming problem. Thank you again! I know it is impossible to answer everyone all of the time. I appreciate the videos that you make. I'm looking through your Grymforge playthroughs because that part was really difficult for me. I had no idea it was probably the game mechanic itself because I had the same problems with the goblin camp and especially the Githyanki, those were tough. Imagine if we have to fight their dragon in future versions of the game. Lae'zel would be like, no, we can't kill the dragon!
In this instance, spoilers are good. I started reading the Drizzt series in Highschool in 1992. I was so fascinated with the series, I felt the characters in my soul as if they were my own close family/friends. I was in a true depression for weeks when Cattie-Brie died and simply couldnt take anymore heartbreak when Bruenor and Guenhwyvar were gone. Knowing they are returned through magic, I can continue to read after more than a decade of avoiding Drizzt's pain from the loss of literally everyone he loved. By the way, I definitely recommend the offshoot series "The Cleric Quintet" featuring the intelligent Cadderly Bonaduce as the main character. Drizzt was introduced to Caddery in the Paths of Darkness trilogy, book 1 The Silent Blade. The Cleric Quintet is a very fun 5 book series.
Read Crystal Shard 30 odd years ago. Had my copy signed a few years back and my inner child was cheering. Have him show up in Dungeons and dragons 2, for a minute or two, Guen and and all. I'll spaz.
I want him in my party at least in some DLC and have some deep philosophical talks. I bet he has a lot to talk about and a lot of interesting thoughts. And I want to see Jaheira, Viconia, Imoen, basically all BG characters, even Winthrop.
Can't watch the whole thing yet cause I've only read books 1-3 but this was a good refresher and reminder that I've got more reading to do! Thanks Wolf 🐺
Awesome episode and thank you for the background lore. Been a while since I read the original RA Salvatore books and reminders of his appearance in various D&D video games. Nice touch of the campfire while you told his story. Thanks!
I could absolutely see Drizzt getting involved should he learn about this whole "Absolute" debacle and that Mind Flayers are directly involved, and if Drizzt *is* in BG3, then it's almost certain that Catti-brie, Bruenor, Wulfgar, & Regis would be by his side, because they absolutely would not allow Drizzt to go off to confront the likes of Mind Flayers without their help. It's even possible that Artemis Entreri could potentially make an appearance at some point (such as if the "True Souls" or other followers of the "Absolute" have somehow caused him trouble or caught his attention), though it is very unlikely that we will see Dahlia, as she now lives in Menzoberranzan and is more or less a madwoman at this point, so unless we have to travel near to to Menzoberranzan at some point, Dahlia is extremely unlikely to show up....she may be mentioned or referenced by someone like Drizzt or Entreri, but that would probably be it. And even if Drizzt is at the Monastery of the Yellow Rose, the distance from there to Baldur's Gate doesn't really matter since magical transportation like Teleport and Gate spells exist, so he could very easily traverse much of that distance via magical means. Plus, there's plenty of potential for Drizzt to also have some special interactions with Drow PCs (as well as fellow Rangers), where he could be understandably wary of Lolth-Sworn Drow, but far more welcoming and friendly towards Seldarine Drow.
What an accomplished video! Giving a concise and interesting overview when so much material on the topic is available is truly challenging! I enjoyed it so much and it’s really helpful to get a broad overview in preparation for Baldurs Gate 3! Loved it!!
Incredible work! One of your best video you have made in my opinion. The work and understanding it took to make such a summary is incredible. Keep it up. Will continue to watch such high quality videos through from begging to end.
I would love to see you do a video on Jarlaxle! He was also one of my favorite characters of the series. And yes, I hope Drizzt will make some sort of appearance in BG3 to continue the tradition. In the meantime, it seems I have a few books to catch up on lol (I stopped right after he met with the reincarnated companions).
One thing that that needs to be stated is that drizzt isn't like the rest of drow society, he doesn't have that inherent evil in him and its a huge part of his character. from his early childhood he is inherently kind. his entire character arc in the first 3 books is about his family trying to make him into a heartless killer like them but he just doesn't have it in him. he is a kind and gentle soul who has to make the hardest decisions ever, choosing between his family and what heart says. He is my favorite fantasy character ever. I really hope he shows up.
Omg I would absolutely love it if Drizzet made a appearance in Bg3! That would be so cool and I think that would be a nice little like tribute to his previous appearances in the Baldurs gate games. I would be super interested in a video about his companions too! Thanks for another spectacular video Wolf and thanks for all your hard work! ❤
On a super side note, I read the first 4 books then finished and re-read/listened to the rest on audiobook and it really helped with pronunciations, only when read by Victor Bivene.
I would love to see Elminster make an appearance of course. Minsc and Boo I'm sure are probably already a given. I'm not sure if you've covered that yet. Many characters may take interest in the important threat that befalls the Sword Coast and beyond. Yes, please! More videos on Forgotten Realms lore! Thanks Wolfheart!
When I went to the prerelease event for Magic's Adventures in the Forgotten Realms set, I was so stoked to open "Drizzt Do'Urden" in my first pack! It would be so cool to see Drizzt in BG3.
While Drizzt is an inspiration and a precedent for the creation of good Drow table top characters going years back to the release of 2nd Ed's Drow of the Underdark handbook, Drizzt needs a rest.
Also, I read DND Horror Stories occasionally. I once read were the DM has his murder hobo party encounter The Companions of the Hall. The offending party quickly learned that they aren't the toughest thing out there.
After having failed english in highschool, my father forced me to read some books during that summer. I chose these, never having heard of them or read a fantasy books. Got hooked and started playing DnD because of them. True love.
It wouldn’t be crazy, or out of the realm of possibility to see Elminster, such and event would draw his attention and in 1491 he was still in waterdeep
He was the star in my eyes 🥺🥺🥺. It’s still better the dark alliance 2021 🥲🥲. Love the content brother brother you inspired me and continue to do so! Thanks for the response!
@@WolfheartFPS True, and he also made a non star appearance in Demon Stone where you could play him in the level where you have to defend the gates of Mithril Hall from the trolls
The backstory of Drizzt sounds pretty awesome. Might need to find some Audible books. I know next to nothing about the D&D world but it fascinates me when I hear things.
I like seeing plenty of iconic canon characters in these games. Drizzt, Artemis, Jarlaxle, Elminster, Arilyn Moonblade, Khelben Arunsun, Volo etc. Also, I'm surprised you didn't pronounce Catti-brie as "CAY-tih Brai". It would have been consistent with how you pronounced names like Zaknafein and Mielikki.
In BG2, if you were an Elf with low reputation and your name was Drizzt, he calls you out on it. I reckon there'll be shenanigans like this if you make a BG3 Drow called Drizzt, or a Human named Elminster.
If I'm not mistaken, when you try to go up the narrow pass thats before the goblin camp behind the 3 gobbos sitting down at the table. You see drizzt in the cutscene along the other 2 champions
I read the crystal shard when I was in junior high school ..I just told everybody how old I am.. lol ha ha ha.. a movie has to be done I don't care if it's CGI like Beowulf was done or Japanese animation somebody has to do a movie please I'm dying here lol ha ha ha.. I can't be the only one that wants this so bad I can taste it..
Excellent video! I love Drizzt I’ve read a lot of the books though not in order of each other and this is a fantastic recap ^^ Though I thought Neverwinter was destroyed by Mount Hotenow exploding unless you mean it was destroyed before then in a story I hadn’t read before being rebuilt 🤔
Actually you are correct. The spellplague did hurt many cities, but the actual Neverwinter earthquake / eruption of Mount Hotenow was much later than that. Thanks 🙏
Thank you for the lore video. More lore around the time period of the game sounds cool. It gives the game more life knowing what is happening in the world and the area. Thanks for the video.
Drizzt can't be in the game, I know an adventurer who accidentally on purpose killed him off to get his swords. Happened during that weird iron shortage on the Sword Coast. Sad times.
Kimmuriel would be involved and would be cool to see since he is one of the strongest psionics and has a relationship with the mind flayers and the hive mind.
"I'm actually only on Book 27." Well, there go my attempts at understanding the world of BG games. Seems like too big of a commitment. I like knowing at least some of the lore of the rpgs I'm playing, though, so these videos really help. Thank you!
I'd still recommend the books. Salvatore's writing is very engaging and dynamic so you essentially devour those books (to quote my thesis supervisor "they are like a video game in a written form"). Also, they're not as massive as ASOIAF or LOTR, averaging at about 250-300 pages per book. And, being divided to trilogies, with an occasional quadrilogy every now and then, you can take them in smaller doses whenever you feel the need of more Drizzt in your life.
I think I killed Driz'zt in BG1 and Jarlaxle in BG2 precisely ONCE just to check. The former I helped in most playthroughs with pride, the latter with grudge I mostly just spared.
I have been with Drizzt since he 1st released in 1988! I really hope he does show up! I love all his books! I would love to see Elminster Aumar show up in BG3! Great Vid, keep up the great work Bro!
Fun fact: If you name your character Drizzt Do’urden in BG1 and you kill Drizzt and take his gear, there will be a unique line of dialogue in BG2 when you meet Drizzt again - he will call you an imposter. It obviously works only if you transfer your BG1 character to BG2.
If Drizzt doesn't get a feature or string of dialogue, they're getting a major thumbs down from me. I will be including it in my review. He is an amazing character and The Sword Coast is incomplete without him. Thank you
@@WolfheartFPS I have to tell you again man ... your Naration skills are top Tier. You could easely make audio books and i would listen to all of them. The way you did a resumé on Drizzt was just great. I did read the first 3 saga's of drizzt and 95% of all the elminster books.
I think Jarlaxle would make an appearance just to see what Minthara is up to since she is a Baenre, and would most likely want to make sure she wouldn't interfere with any plans he has been cooking up all these years. Come to think of it most of the Baenre's are now top side. Jarlaxle, Beniago, Gromph, Liriel, Yvonnel II, and now Minthara. Considering the way things are going in Menzoberrenzan it would not surprise me if we eventually saw an appearance by Matron Mother Quenthel.
I really liked this Drizzt video. Good job condensing 37 novels into a 20 minute synopsis. More character lore videos? Sure, whatever you can handle. BG 1 and 2 characters, Companions of the Hall, Volo, Elminster, et al. Bring it on. Love the Guenhwyvar shirt. 😃
Hey man, I can't believe I forgot to subscribe till just now. I've really enjoyed your content since I picked up BG3 early access! Your storytelling is concise and well-composed, and I really like your breakdown videos of the different patches so far. Thanks for the great content
It would be a surprise, to be sure, but a welcome one. I absolutely would love if he makes an appearance along with other major characters in his books. One other thing. What about other major characters like Khelben Blackstaff or Elminster? Would be cool if you could make a video on them.

I've always called him like Ritz. The audiobooks do too, so it is correct.

Ryald i think his name was the drow with an adamantine greatsword, from then war on the spider queen
Minthara is related to Jarlaxle and Gromph, as she is from House Baenre.
@@tristanchristiansen9054 Ryld Argith, both him and his great sword "splitter" perished in book 5 believe.
Jarlaxle is way more fun of a character than Drizzt IMO
I am banking on Methil El-Viddenvelp being int he game hehe...he's been important lately and made several appearances
imagine the life of Drizzt into a movie or a show.
Take John Wick combat and switch in Scimitars for guns. And good luck hurting his pet cat, she'll rip your head off! :)
The ultimate super hero
Hell the dark elf trilogy, and the Icewind Dale trilogy alone would be amazing movies/shows.

I hope he does. He's such an iconic character and this game's events might need a major hero by the end, to help combat the Absolute.
End game appearance would be epic
He was in BG1, he was in BG2, he will be in BG3
@@KarolAltus Video game design choices don't exactly follow mathematical induction, but I sure hope so.
I hope he is just so I can kill is over-rated ass.
@@insanehippiehippieinsane3828 haha, yeah!
Larian needs you! Get in touch with them and offer your advice! :D
I've been waiting several months since finishing Starlight Enclave, and I can tell you. RA really outdid himself with the cliffhanger this time. No spoilers, but that is a fact. lol
I have a feeling you and I could get locked in an elevator together for a week and be okay with it... (And I am loving the newest series)
how would you build Drizzt in 5th ed? Or BG3 for that matter
TL;DR:
Race: Seldarine Drow (he worships Mielikki, not Lolth)
Background: Folk Hero or Outlander both fit Drizzt perfectly so pick whichever you like more.
I hope that they do Drizzt well in BG3, such an iconic character deserves proper treatment after what happened in Dark Alliance
Yes to this haha
The only thing I really even remember about that game is that they made Bruenor look just like Lane Staley.
Larian are d&d players themselves. If he's in I think they know the significance and what it means to fans.
Haha the last 30% of this video was a spoiler for myself too. Thanks Don (also great idea about the narration)
Also yes Drizzt has a two year old in Starlight Enclave and their scenes are the purest things I’ve ever read it’s just a dad playing around with his daughter Drizzt is such a good dad 🥺🥺🥺
I almost bought the book for this video, but the bookstore only had hardcover lol
2? of them?). But yes, all of Drizzt's scenes with Brie are great
@@override367 How ironic...lol
I first read Streams of silver in high school around 1991 or so. It was the book that really got me hooked on fantasy novels and the Forgotten Realms setting in particular. I could not put it down and read it several times back to back. No other book has ever sucked me in like that.
I hope Drizzt shows up with his adorable toddler, hes basically an epic level monk AND fighter at this point
I think we have to see Spider. He is definitely the most traveled of the companions of the hall and most likely, being involved in his organization, will know about the events in BG3 and if Spider knows, Bruenor knows.
I'd love to see cameos by any number of these characters. And I certainly wouldn't be against more lore videos on all of these companions.
I Second!
Best part about Drizzt in Baldur's Gate 2 is if you play an elf named Drizzt and have a low reputation he'll call you out on it and you end up fighting him because you've harmed his reputation.
Love this
Hunted by entreri and then drizzt lol
Drizzt and friends were a huge help against Bodhi in BG2. Would love to have him back in BG3. Larian would handle him far better than those hacks that made the recent Dark Alliance disaster.
Lol
You can also slaughter his whole party for legendary loot (if your party is strong enough, that is). There is also a dialogue option referring to the time you cheesed him in BG1, and he says something along the lines of "Oh, so that was you?"
I mainly want to see Sarevok. That would be cool. He doesn't have to be in the main story, but it would be cool if the game had a path where you could meet him, fight him (again) or maybe even have him join your party.
Isn't Sarevok human?
@@TheCoolerDrilis Yes, but he cheated death in the BG2 expansion. Based on that, it would be easy to invent some deus ex machina reason why he's still in the land of the living 100 years later.
@@johndeighan2495 I s'pose.
So you got the mindflayers, the gitz and their "allies" the red dragons, denizens of the nine hell's and on top of that throw in the sons of baal. Hah that's fuxkin wild.
The ultimate fan favorite and most badass fighter in fantasy? Go for it, man
I bet he's secretly in the game somewhere. It's probably a super rare/hard to unlock secret mission that brings him in as a cameo or something.
I read Salvatore's books as a child. Drizzt - Amazing hero!
RA Salvatore seeing that I was holding a OG Crystal Shard copy from like 15 feet away was awesome, and he was suprised!
A someone that's pretty unfamiliar Drizzt's story, this was incredibly informative :D I personally think it would be really cool to have him make a cameo and see him portrayed in Baldur's Gat 3 :)
Thanks as always for another great video!
Cheers Kuren!
Thanks for the comment!
The most* iconic character in all of forgotten realms* lore.
I would love to see Dak'kon, Morte or some other Planescape Torment charachter as easter egg. Plancescape Torment had some of the best NPCs in any RPGs.
That would be amazing. Planescape Torment was the first game I ever played through more than 2x. I loved it so much.
Guenhwyvar was the original pokemon
He is also a Monk as well trained from the legendary monk Kane.
I am so far off from the books. At this point, he must be like John Wick with swords
This is an underrated channel.
Came from one of your bg3 guides, stayed for the quality content.
Another interesting video. I did not realize there were that many books, I have around 20 of them. I will agree that the first couple of series (Icewind Dale and The Dark Elf Rilogy) are the best and most important.
my favorites are the war of the silver marches trilogy, the homeland trilogy, and the companions trilogy... and the ones about Many Arrows
Thank you so much for this video about Drizzt! In fact, "the one I dream about" is as close to Drizzt as I can get him to be. I even have a screenshot of him on my Steam account and every time I look at him, it's like, I did my best. I did. XD
Of course, next time, I'm going to try to make Varric because we can't romance Varric in the DA games that he is in. I love Drizzt so much and had fun playing him on the Xbox for one of the
Dark Alliance games. Of course you couldn't change the weapons but it was still so much fun to play him! I even made my high elf coloured like Drizzt and she turned out so much better than my female Drow or "the one I dream about."
If they put Drizzt in as a companion, I might start having a gaming problem.
Elminster is someone i would love to see make an appearance.
I teared up when Wolfheart said it could be an option. I'm having so much fun playing this game. I can't wait until August.
True Drizzt fan!
Would love to see my boy Drzzt. Never have I loved a character as much as the humble badass Drzzt Do' Urden.
Read Crystal Shard 30 odd years ago. Had my copy signed a few years back and my inner child was cheering. Have him show up in Dungeons and dragons 2, for a minute or two, Guen and and all. I'll spaz.
I. ADORE. DRIZZT. Love this character, he's the best written of all. Salvatore was inspired when he created him.
I want him in my party at least in some DLC and have some deep philosophical talks.
I bet he has a lot to talk about and a lot of interesting thoughts.
And I want to see Jaheira, Viconia, Imoen, basically all BG characters, even Winthrop.
For sure. He’s always been a philosophic character, but now that he has spent time at the monetary I’d be really curious as to his thoughts on things.
What a nostalgia trip. i remember reading these at the back of Borders Books when I was 11 years old
I'm not going to say that my "who do you dream of" character in Baldur's gate 3 looks like Drizzt - but I'm not *not* saying it either.
I've always felt that Drizzt and Artemis were opposite sides of the same coin. When they collaborated, I was pleasantly surprised.
You should have included drizzt first trip to the surface as part of a raiding party. Very important to his character arc
Can't watch the whole thing yet cause I've only read books 1-3 but this was a good refresher and reminder that I've got more reading to do! Thanks Wolf 🐺
Understandable! Enjoy the rest of the series.
Awesome episode and thank you for the background lore. Been a while since I read the original RA Salvatore books and reminders of his appearance in various D&D video games. Nice touch of the campfire while you told his story. Thanks!
Thanks for watching
Considering he was in the first two Baldur's Gate games, I feel like it would be an omission to the third not to include him in this one as well.
Just an FYI for some folks, Lots of the Drizzt series is on audiobook, ON youtube. Just look for em.
Loved it!!
Thanks Mundi!
Great video Wolf, as always! I too have read most of the books...it would definitely be awesome to see Drizzt in BG3....Keep up the great work you do.
Thanks Ken.
imagine if yoda was in every movie and almost half the scenes of all star wars content 😊😊 just a thought for you bois
Incredible work! One of your best video you have made in my opinion. The work and understanding it took to make such a summary is incredible. Keep it up. Will continue to watch such high quality videos through from begging to end.
Thanks so much
I would love to see you do a video on Jarlaxle!
Best BG3 content creator and channel! WolfPack best Pack!
Skal!
Haha nice Amanda!
Was thinking about doing a vid on him next although I have not ready the books on him!
Great video, love the lore videos. Artemis is an amazing character as well, I hope he appears in BG3 as well.

I'm still waiting for a 3 part trilogy movie for Drizzt....it would be epic! I've read his origin trilogy at least 5 times. It's such a great story.
I would love to see a really well made live action Zak vs Drizzt
Hollywood would woke it into something unrecognizable. Best left alone.
If he appears, and it’s possible, I would not hesitate to murder him to get my hands on that kitty cat totem magic item!

Though I thought Neverwinter was destroyed by Mount Hotenow exploding unless you mean it was destroyed before then in a story I hadn’t read before being rebuilt 🤔
Actually you are correct. The spellplague did hurt many cities, but the actual Neverwinter earthquake / eruption of Mount Hotenow was much later than that. Thanks 🙏

"I'm actually only on Book 27."
Well, there go my attempts at understanding the world of BG games.
You are a man of your word Wolf! LONG LIVE THE CAMPFIRE!
Campfire is for you Volk!!! 🙏
Drizzt is cool, but I'd like to see Jarlaxle or Artemis Entreri for that matter.

You’re welcome Lada. Thank you
Fun fact: If you name your character Drizzt Do’urden in BG1 and you kill Drizzt and take his gear, there will be a unique line of dialogue in BG2 when you meet Drizzt again - he will call you an imposter. It obviously works only if you transfer your BG1 character to BG2.
SPOILER* New books have Drizzt picking up more of a Monk roll mix in there with ranger and such
I actually modeled my BG 3 character after him! If he's in the game and joins your party, that'd be so cool.

@@scottlavale1502 I have yet to read the eliminster books. I have a few on my shelf maybe I’ll start today 😎 Thanks again
I hope he makes an appearance, was a funny little easter egg in BG1 and 2 😄
I think Jarlaxle would make an appearance just to see what Minthara is up to since she is a Baenre, and would most likely want to make sure she wouldn't interfere with any plans he has been cooking up all these years.
Thanks for the sub. Glad you enjoy the content!
It would be a surprise, to be sure, but a welcome one. I absolutely would love if he makes an appearance along with other major characters in his books.
One other thing. What about other major characters like Khelben Blackstaff or Elminster? Would be cool if you could make a video on them.
Khelben is dead in this time, but Elminster is around.
