hmm that’s a good question, i’ve heard that essays are becoming more and more important bc they really show your character :) ik i worked on my cornell supplements for months when i applied, hope that helps!
Is cornell walkable or do you have to bus from dorm to campus? Does each dorm building have a eating quarters? Do the have private baths/ private rooms dorm rooms? What's the coldest temperature and how long is the winter season there? Is the college close to stores or restaurants?
Cornell is relatively walkable, although busing might be more convenient in the winter. Most dorms don't have dining halls, at least for freshmen housing on North campus; there are more dining halls in dorms for sophmore dorms on West campus. Bathrooms are usually shared within a suite or hall, depending on the dorm. I'm not really sure about the winters here because this is my first year, but I can tell you that it snow stormed in mid-December this year! Cornell has a collegetown (~30 min walk from my dorm) with small restaurants and shops, and then Ithaca downtown is about a 50 minute walk, but overall, Ithaca is a pretty small city so most people travel to Syracuse or Rochester for big shopping sprees! hi! that’s so awesome, i’m so excited for you🤩i’m not sure how the international application process works but for us, we submitted the common app, which included the basic demographics, stats, ecs, recs, common app essay, and cornell supplements (which vary depending on the college within cornell that you apply to), i believe cornell also gives you the option to submit a resume and supplemental materials like music auditions or other portfolios, even if ur not an art or music major
I applied to Cornell but they said that I'm not eligible and suggested me to apply as a transfer student (I'm an international student). Please pray for me so that I get in 😭🙏
Hey Candy! I'm an incoming freshman at Cornell and was wondering if you had advice for rooming--- would you recommend getting a single or a double/is it difficult to make friends if you're in a single?
hey brooklyn! congrats on your acceptance! imo, i definitely prefer living in a single because i like studying in my room and just having my own space. in terms of making friends, the dorm i live in actually has mostly singles, so i feel like it was not too difficult to make friends, but i really met the majority of my friends through classes and clubs! however, i have also heard that having a roomie can be a lot of fun too!

I just got in Engineering ED(CompE or CS intended). How would you compare first year Engineering to high school? Im currently in AP physics, Chem, calc bc, comp sci A, and AP Lit and it's a lot of work.. wish to be a tad more relaxed in college but idk.
congrats on your acceptance! tbh, i feel like my first sem was significantly harder than high school. idk if that is because of my major since i also took many APs in high school that were said to prepare for college, but cornell courses were a whole new beast😂but i got thru it and i'm sure you will too! also i've heard that first sem is usually more challenging because everyone is transitioning and adjusting to college life :)

yeah i try not to walk alone but when i do, i usually try to be calling someone the whole way just in case :)
