"I don't like the idea of shooting americans here" Well you can guess how every german feels playing any WWII game.
As a german: Media always tells me how evil I'am... I was class president 5 times in a row, in language lesson I was always ahead of my class and at work many say I'm the most reliable guy they've got... but if I say something like "I'm proud to be a german"... well, you can guess what I get to hear. So at some point I didn't even care anymore.
But this short campagin in BF5 made me realise something... something so obvious that I never thought about it: "I'm just a human"

Fun Fact: Peter Muller didn't die, the final gun shots weren't the MP40 shot sounds. The Americans killed Schroder, Peter Muller went on to live in America and changed his name to Peter Miller. In battlefield 3 there is a random Tank Driver and that Tank Driver is the Grandson of Peter Miller.

Germany and Austria were the ‘bad guys’ in WW1. Just because Germany wasn’t under Nazism at the time doesn’t mean there not bad guys.

He was no more brainwashed than the poor boys filled with patriotism who are sent to foreign countries to "defend" america. He was just on the team that lost.
In real life if a tiger tank shot a Sherman that close, That Sherman was gone, There was no second shot.
I wasn’t hating on him, I was stating a fact.....
Tigers could effectively take out sherman from over a mile away. Meanwhile. The First Sherman variants could not penetrate the tiger. No matter how close they got and where they aimed. 102mm up front and 80 on sides and rear. Shermans with the short low velocity 75 mm could not penetrate. The Newer shermans with the 76mm could penetrate the tiger at around 500 yards. But the tiger wasnt the only monster germany produced... The Tiger II for instance has never been penetrated through it's front armor which is 150mm thick and sloped. Effectively over 220mm thick. Allies didnt have guns that were even close to penetrating that.

@@boofbboof0337 There are two variations on that sign that I can see in the shot. "Ich habe Deutschland verraten"/"I have betrayed Germany" and "Ich wollte nicht für das Deutsche volk kämpfen"/"I didn't want to fight for the German people". They are all deserters, being marched to execution.

The nazis were the wrong, not the Germans. There were many Germans who were against the nazi ideology and either kept quiet to not get punished or spoke and ended up in Auschwitz

Im from Germany and I really think this is a great story. It shows the horrors and the pain, all of those pour soilders had to endure. It show that all the people that fought in this terrible conflict where human.

Ja. Das Ende ist zwar sehr traurig. Aber wenn man drauf achtet, weiß man wie sich die Deutschen fühlten und das wichtigste in dieser Geschichte. Peter Müller ist nicht Tod. Das hat auch ein anderer Kommentar gesagt. Aber Peter Müller hat überlebt. Er ist nach Amerika gezogen und hat sich in Peter Miller umbenannt. Ein Panzerfahrer aus Battlefield 3, welcher nicht wirklich wichtig ist sagt, das sein Großvater Peter Miller hieß. Das ist schön zu wissen.

The death of Hartman, Kertz and Müller. The most saddest endinds in BFV. I cant stop thinking about this. I almost cried but in got in tears. Awesome campaign. Yet still sad ending.
Müller lives the gunshots at the ends sounds like that of a bar and not the Mp40. otherwise he wouldnt be able to tell us he was there.

I’m not sure if I’m correct, but I did hear of a Peter Mathias Müller who was a tanker during the Second World War. I couldn’t find him whilst I was researching for him, so I asked a lot of people if they recognized him. Turns out, there was indeed a Peter Müller who served as an Oberstleutnant in the Wehrmacht in a Tiger H1 during 1944-1945 (Unlike this Müller who served in a Tiger H1, with an E chassis, from 1942-1945.) He survived the war and immigrated to the United States in which he had a son who also became a tanker. Sadly, the son was killed in action and the father outlived him. Now I don’t know if this is true or not, but I want to believe so because I truly felt sorrow and sympathy for Müller. Not to mention, those “different gunshots” sounded like it could have been a Thompson M1A1 or a Browning Automatic Rifle/BAR firing semi-automatic, but I’m not sure.

I'm telling myself Muller didn't die, because the gunshot in the end sounded different, it's funny because it's the exact same thing he says in the Radio part, he tells himself his men are safe on the other side, and that he would have time to think and reassess what they did safe and in peace.

Downfall is a good movie that also shows that not all Germans were Nazis and just the general perspective of a few. Probably one of my favorite movies of all time if I'm gonna be honest.

Tha fact that you said you normally wouldn’t feel bad for a german soldier makes me sad. The americans were no better. I would like to see more german campaign in these types of games. They were loyal to their country to the bitter end. They went to war for the same reason and, to serve their country and yet so many people think that the americans were the only heroes and the germans were the «bad guys» just like in a video game. I think people who play these games forget what a life is really worth even though i like these types of games myself i always remember that its not just a game but it actually happened. Its time people realize this and respect everyone who fought with loyalty and courage when their country was in need of it. That is true courage, the like of which you will not find in world today.

Nazis were the government and basically like royal guards. They weren’t really part of any of the fighting with the exception of a few platoons
Orion E I was mostly referring to SA not SS. SA is what most people think of when they hear Nazi, with the signature brown uniform and armband. SS evolved from SA to be more of a fighting force, while SA was involved with persecuting the Jewish population.

Trevor is purposely trying to oppose the Nazis because he was brainwashed into thinking all the Germans were evil. Make no mistake, there were bad German soldiers. But there was also bad American soldiers during WW2 that committed war crimes against the Germans and the Japanese.
This is what happens when you're too scared to be called "racist". I'm American and can easily sympathize with German or Japanese soldiers dying. It's shame people are so cowardice they cant even show human emotion or care for something.

You should oppose Nazis, but not all Germans were Nazis. I find it a bit irritating that people refer to Wartime German combatants as Nazis in General. most were just doing their duty, and some even got dragged into it involuntarily.
One of my Great Grandfathers friends during the war was an Austrian who had been forced into military service, and my grandmother used to go to the nearby Wehrmacht camp to see the doctor whenever she got sick.
there were of course some bad men fighting as well. my great grandmother almost got killed when she tried stopping some Germans from stealing her goat. the germans either had her at gun point or took out grenades and was ready to get rid of the ¨Norwegische Schweine¨ until a higher ranking official suddenly intervened.
When the Germans evacuated the native population in Northern Norway and the war was coming to an end, people were actually calling Northern Norwegians traitors for getting along with the Germans. But what could regular folk with to much to lose do? they were just people, and as it turned out the Germans were people too. people in an unknown country fighting for something their fuhrer and commanders believed in.

I believe that every soldier is a human being. Every human beings has a heart and feelings. Confederate, Nazi, union, etc is a human beings trying to fight for something. Orders are orders and you as a soldier must do those orders.

Just following orders is no excuse. If the order is immoral and wrong it should not be obeyed. The Nazis tried the "Just following orders" defence at the trials and no one accepted then just as we should not accept it now.

only certain orders had to be followed, which were ones of combat against combatants. the SS didn't have the resources to go after your family, nor did they care. Hitler literally thought Rommel attempted to assassinate him and still gave Rommel the chance to die peacefully and leave his family safe.

Ich bin zwar kein Deutscher, sondern Österreicher, aber wir haben diesbezüglich ja die gleiche Geschichte. Ich fühl mich zu denen nicht verbunden, nur weil sie damals im gleichen Gebiet gelebt haben. Nazi-Deutschland ist nicht das heutige Deutschland.

Not all the ''nazis'' were on that train, although. Oskar Schindler for example, who was also Nazi. The Nazis didn't just attract mass murderers, but also (and especially) Patriots who tried to get Germany out of the post-war misery after the first world war, which was a very successful endeavor, if it wasn't for the war to come back. It's like saying all the Hippies were immoral drug addicts... Sure, quite a lot of them (most likely the bunch) were, but others actually had somewhat of a concept beyond that. NS started out as a popular movement... It is their nature to attract a bit of everything and most of those ''Nazis'' (Party-members, military or not) never killed a single Jew, POW, Civilian, or whatever it might be.

@@darthkillerhog many germans (including myself) have a guilty conscience about our past, espacially about WW2. There are several different reasons for that. Of course WW2 is talked about a lot in different school subjects. From my personal experience I can tell you that whenever I travel to a foreign country and mention that I'm german, WW2 has always been amongst the first topics that were brought up. Yes I didn't take part in WW2 and I strongly oppose the ideeology of the Nazis but I'm associated with WW2 whether I like it or not...
Many soldier were forced to fight in the war and most of them were ordinary good people who fought and died for a country with an evil ideology. Not all German solders were bad, they were told what to do despite their morals.

Nah, Schroder was the only one using an automatic weapon. The americans were using single-shot guns. In the end when Peter was surrendering, there were two gunshots which would have been more likely the automatic gun that Schroder was holding. The light sounds of the gunshots were identical to the automatic gun. If it were an american weapon, there would be a deeper sound. But if he was really shot, there's still the possibility that he survived that since he's narrating the story.

Yeah,but the calliopes were in very short numbers and probably never fought against a tiger but here they show them in like every corner that's not war accurate
War truly does bring out both the best and the worst of mankind. It puts things into perspective. In the midst of all that horror, the good deeds shine all the brighter.
The detail on that tiger is amazing, the real life sights at 1:50 amazed me, I thought they would put in a shitty version of a tank sight not the real life sight

HuntingSix2008 it was the same as for the allies, normal men taken from their homes to fight a war against people they don’t hate but are brainwashed into hating, and doing everything they can in their power to defeat the sworn enemy because of that instilled hatred.
As an Australian I feel so bad for some Germans (not Hitler) but the innocents lost many friends or families.

Also a Sherman could knock out a Tiger as long as it got around. About 3-4 Shermans could manage to knock out a tiger. But that depends on which model Sherman your going against. An m4A1, m4A2 and m4A3 with a 76 mm Gun could easily knock out a Tiger. Also there was the British 17 pounder.
My grandfather fought in the war. He was Danish, and he had many exchanges with German soldiers. They exchanged cigarettes, stories, and drinks together. Nobody wanted to fight that war. There were no winners.

This is the most favorite game story that I ever watch. Even it's sad I don't have this game, my face now is full of tears and pain seeing the ending part of German campaign.

Those things were absolute monsters no Sherman could Pentwater for what I know or atleast an M1 Sherman the firefly was the closest you could get to damaging a tiger tank but other than that those things could not be stopped
I’m sorry?. The tiger was not some invincible monster!. It actually only had 102mm of armor on the front plate. An M4A3 (76)W or any other sherman with a 76mm cannon could penetrate it. Yes, it’s turret was better armored. But, that doesn’t change the fact that the tank was far from invincible. And, you should probably do a bit more research before commenting about something like this
