    Parts needed for this project!
    3D Print Original Work:
    Thingiverse by Luke Massassi from the Netherlands
    Kyber Crystal Container www.thingiverse.com/thing:379...
    His Facebook group is called Massassi Models, please give him a look!

    Also, there is a TH-cam Channel he runs as well
    th-cam.com/users/massassi...
    Our "Re-Mix" of his 3D model simply removed material from inside the crate to make it hollow. This way there is room inside for the speakers and electronics. A big THANK YOU to Luke Massassi for creating such a great prop project.

    Hi All, We made a MISTAKE! LOL, i know right? How could we do it? Well, it happens from time to time. That said, we were incorrect during the section that explains the speaker wiring. We should have wired the speakers IN PHASE vs what we had done. By wiring the way we did we are reducing certain frequencies and canceling out audio. This will cause us to lose the low end. Big thanks to Andrew Lineker and @WayneFlanigan for helping us keep on the straight and narrow. Sorry for the misstep all!

    • @randystrauss1542
      @randystrauss1542 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, I was baffled that you'd want to wire the speakers out of phase.

    First off, i love the channel. With the world being crazy, I've got a couple videos to go back and catch up on. That said, i love this build. I recently built myself my dream 8ft desk/workbench. I'm a crafter in multiple mediums and have/am in the process of adding my geeky flair to it. 2 or 3 of these creates (only 1 or 2 may be actual speakers) to the space would be a perfect addition. You guys keep making something out of nothing. This is the way.

    Amazing! Would love to hear in person. My phone cant reproduce how much bass it probably has. Maybe look at bose stuff for ported waveguide designs?
    What you made is a sort of subwoofer box the old bass tubes. But they had a mono sub with a passive radiator on the opposite side. In phase with a port in the middle would give some IMPRESSIVE low end! Bandpass style. Look it up!

    Disney reused the Rogue one crate design for their Galaxy's Edge legacy lightsabers. I repainted mine so it wouldn't look so plastic. I kept a blue color but did some silver paint brushing on edges to make it look like worn metal and I dry brushed the rebellion emblem with a metallic copper color. I keep my Starkiller lightsaber in it since the Luke hilt that came with it is displayed with my Vader hilt on a stand.

    There's a great upside to this project that I think many folks aren't thinking about: Rehoming an existing bluetooth speaker. Target (I know the physical stores are currently closed) sells a Vivitar bluetooth for about USD$10, bust that thing open, being careful of the electronics and just remount it into this hollow case.
    You'll get the same effect without the intimidating soldering and whatnot.
    *edit: Also I'd love to see a wiring diagram of how you've done this setup and/or a "simple electronics" tutorial video

    Well, I think I found my first project when my 3D printer comes in.
    And I'd LOVE a how-to series on soldiering and the like.

    Quick question where is the link for the diagram for the electronics? And how did you correct the In-phase of the speakers. I appreciate your time with helping.

    • @junkyardjedi386
      @junkyardjedi386 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Aaron Rioux I corrected the in phase by reversing the wires on one speaker, so they both are the same now. The wire diagram is just following the inputs and outputs on the electronic boards are marked clearly.

      Thanks William, the best part is, if you have a 3D printer, the files are free. Then you just need the simple electronics!

    I would like a short series on wiring leds and speakers (in phase) as I really have no experience other than just trial and error. It would really be nice to understand what I'm doing! lol

    For those of us who don't have 3D printers but are looking into getting one, which would you recommend for our first 3D printer?
    Does programming skills matter all that much or is it all about the price tag?

    • @junkyardjedi386
      @junkyardjedi386 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Joshua I have a Prusha MK3 it is an incredible printer, no fussing around with mirrors and hair spray, yes it may cost more but worth not having problems.

    I don’t have access to a 3D printer. Is there another way to create/fabricate the box? Styrene maybe?

    • @TheSmugglersRoom
      @TheSmugglersRoom  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Styrene would totally work! No reason at all you could not do that. You can use a program called Pepakura to take the 3D files and flatten them. Then you could print out the template and use that on your styrene to cut the box. From there you are off to the races! tamasoft.co.jp/pepakura-en/

    Great build guys!
    Tired of all the hate for Rogue One. It’s easily the best SW since Empire. I think the director really captured the feel of the books and games from the 90s and 2000s. And the music, despite not being Williams, carries the spirit of the same universe. It’s part of the new canon and that wipes out Kyle stealing the plans, but there’s no denying this is a fantastic movie with some perfect performances from extremely talented actors.
