Good advice Eric, when i park my bike for the winter after draining the fuel out of the system and removing the battery i pull the spark plugs squirt some oil down the bores turn the engine over do it again and replace the plugs, this stops the rings going rusty in the bores and last until you want to reanimate your motorcycle.

Some great tips there. Another one for topping up fuel and cleaning the chain after a ride. Write down anything that needs repairs or replacing. Lost count how many times I have gone for a ride only to realise the issue I had with the bike on the last ride is still there as I had not fixed it.

These were great Eric. Some I already heartily live by, like leaving space and an escape path when pulling up at traffic lights and keeping it in gear and watching for cars behind - blows me away when I see riders parked right up to a car's bumper bar at traffic lights.. and some I didn't know and you've educated me on, like not running the bike for just 5 minutes while storing it for a while, I had no idea about that. Awesome mate, a bunch of super-useful tips, thank you!

I heard this somewhere, maybe from you. I certainly didn’t think of it myself. Take your gloves off before you uncap your fuel tank. Road dust, insect parts, you name it, can adhere to the fingers of your glove and scratch your paint work as you twist off the cap. Your bare hand won’t. Great tips, Eric!
